Man facing charges in arson fires that destroyed his home, neighbor’s SUV

SAN ANTONIO – A Leon Valley man who lost his home to a fire now has lost his freedom.
Formal charges were filed Thursday against Eric Fox Hernandez, 25, in connection with two fires on April 17.
In addition to setting the fire in his home, he also is accused of torching a neighbor’s SUV.
Firefighters found both on fire when they arrived in the 6600 block of Cherryleaf.
An arrest warrant affidavit said Leon Valley police first made contact with Hernandez at that time, after seeing him with a box of matches in his hand and attempting to set fire to a vehicle.
