In a ramped up effort to nab speeders and other violators on Route 7, police in New Milford want to add a few new tricks to their arsenal of weapons… specifically, automated traffic cameras. If the cameras are approved, it would mean drivers in New Milford could be issued a speeding ticket without actually being pulled over by police. The devices would capture images such as a speeder’s license plate, along with the date, time and location. Before they appear, a public hearing will be held at New Milford Town Hall on February 13 at 6:15pm.
