Local News: DAR announces Good Citizens Award winners (3/9/21)

The members of the Abendschone Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently announced the winners of the annual Good Citizens Contest.
Abigail Thurman
The winners are Mia Evans of Eureka Springs High School, Abigail Thurman of Berryville High School and Mary Jo Lynn Smalley of Green Forest High School. Smalley’s sister, Madison Smalley, was the DAR’s essay contest winner in 2019-20.
Mary Smalley
The students were selected by three independent judges based on dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. The theme for the contest was Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving It.
