Letters to the Editor: Thank you for your service, Francis O'Brien

Editor's Note: The following was written on the occasion of the retirement of Francis W. Brien from the Norfolk County Commission, of which he was chairman for 18 years.
Dear Francis W. O’Brien,
You have decided your time has come to leave the political arena. So, this is the time to tell you how special you are to so many people. Every time your name comes up there is always a story.
You were always there for the “little guy." Once you were on Francis O’Brien’s “To Do List” you remained there until it was done. You told those closest to you that, every morning of your life as you were tying your shoes, you would promise yourself that you would do at least one thing to help someone that day. You received many phone calls at home, some of which your wife would answer if you were not available. She was happy to take the calls but she had a rule. If you did not respond to every one of them ASAP, she would no longer answer them. No telephone call went unanswered.
