Leaders ask for indoor dining, more COVID-19 vaccines in wake of Texas reopenings

LAS CRUCES - As Texas prepares to rescind almost all measures in place to mitigate the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19, Las Cruces Mayor Ken Miyagishima is asking New Mexico's governor to reopen indoor dining at local restaurants next week as a means to dissuade residents from traveling across the border to El Paso.
The New Mexico governor's office, through its press secretary, said his proposal is a non-starter.
