Las Cruces man killed in crash at Picacho intersection

DOÑA ANA COUNTY - New Mexico State Police report a Las Cruces was was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday evening on US 70 and Picacho Hills Road.
According to police, Donald Haynie, 66, of Las Cruces was driving a white 2009 Chevrolet pick-up truck west on US 70 — where it's also known as Picacho Avenue — when he rear-ended a 2019 Peterbilt commercial motor vehicle stopped at a red light at the intersection with Picacho Hills Road.
NMSP responded at about 5:11 p.m. Haynie was declared deceased on the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator. The driver of the CMV was not injured.
