Lafourche Parish public schools' Teachers of the Year honored

Lockport Upper Elementary teacher Michelle Ordoyne says her students' reaction was one of the greatest rewards of being named one of three Teachers of the Year in Lafourche public schools.
“When my students heard that I was being recognized, they were more excited than I was," Ordoyne said. "Honestly, my students are my biggest fan club and made me a crown to celebrate.”
Ordoyne, who teaches third-grade science and social studies, is one of three who received the honor at their respective grade levels earlier this month. The other Teachers of the Year are Gilene Fugatt of Raceland Middle and Kayla Boudreaux of South Lafourche High.
