The meeting also witnessed an argument between BJP leader Jual Oram, the chairman of the Standing Committee on Defence, and Rahul Gandhi, over latter's pointed questions on the standoff.

New Delhi: The disengagement process in eastern Ladakh is in final phases, the top military leadership told a standing committee of Parliament on Thursday. According to official sources, the 'stormy' meeting with the Parliamentary Standing Committee witnessed several questions asked by the Opposition leaders including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
"Responding to members' question, top officers from armed forces also informed the panel that the disengagement between armed forces of India and China in eastern Ladakh is in final stages and on the brink of completion," sources were cited as saying by news agency PTI.
