Katie, i wanted to get some coffee this morning and i couldnt believe how cold it is. I know its january. Its so much about one day to the next. How did it feel yesterday versus how does it feel today . And it is a colder afternoon and certainly was a colder morning. So yesterday we were generally level with temperatures. We stayed in the low to mid 30s throughout the day thin concluded the Early Morning as the snow rolled through that leveled the Playing Field we conrey bound too far. Now, we had that clear sky that allowed the temperatures to drop off really easily this morning. Plus wind chill so it was quite brutal by comparison. We start things off by taking a quick peek outside, however. We do have generally just bright clear blue skies and a couple of clouds starting to roll in. This is outside our own station headquarters facing east from broad and Spring Garden streets here. Its very tranquil. Chilly granted but its an okay day. You still need to be bundling up adequately. That breezes breeze is relativ relatively light when it does blow youll notice it but lets take a look out toward the northern high plains. Minneapolis for the upcoming Super Bowl Weekend there are snow showers that are going to move in. Very cold weekend coming up there. However those snow showers actually work their way east and will get in on them here in phil as well. More than 100 Health Experts are calling on facebook to pull the plug on new messenger kids app. The app which facebook rolled out this past december meant for children between six and 12 years old. Campaign for commercial free childhood is leading the effort to have the app shut down. Yesterday the group sent a letter to facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg saying the app will likely damage a childs healthy development. We wrote this letter because facebook is the Worlds Largest social Media Company and by them going after Young Children and trying to get them on social media, its going to be a game changer. Facebook spokesman told cnn the company has no plans to shut down the messenger kids app however it does plan to add more parental controls. More than anything just going to see Building Clouds because of that. But theres a front again actually brought a little batch of light snow across the twin cities early this morning through the overnight. Thats beginnings of this next front that eventually cross our he into tomorrow nights specifically so for now High Pressure is still generally on our side. Thats whats keeping us dry for now. With this next front, tomorrow evening at the earliest early afternoon especially tomorrow night the beginnings of that front start to move in. At which point its still too warm for anything but plain rain well see the start off as rain showers tomorrow night. But behind the front and as temperatures begin to drop off that could turn over briefly to some snow heading into early friday morning. And that means that there could be some tricky travel for the friday morning commute. But then skies begin to clear back out again all over again and thats just a rhee routine well settle into for another few days. 25 is the actual air temperature right now. Recall earlier in the show its feeling more like the teens but at least its a little bit closer that gap in between the wind chill and the actual air temperature it was as low as Single Digits this morning. So its getting better. But we are only going to probably get another ten, 11 degrees tacked on to this for official daytime high mid their what is were calling for. Interesting, were basically on par now out in minneapolis the batch of snow that came through as allowed the temperature to just drop off in its wake. Its leveling off into the 20s for the rest of the day. So were, yeah, were pretty much on the level Playing Field in that regard, but as it currently stands here the rest of the day we still should have another again maybe nine, 10 degrees up our sleeves with the clouds still building and thankfully the worse of the any wind is easing up for us as well. Later on tonight well drop down to just 30. So its still cold. Its not as harsh as this morning was and youll have again more clouds than anything. Lets take look though jumping it forward to wing bowl. Now, people head out in the wee hours of the morning for this and it looks like that front could be crossing through as the gates are opening up outside the well at 4 00 a. M. Between four cooland 6 00 a. M. If youre a party animal and youre going to be out there except the pocket there could be rain or snow mix moving through. Quickly looking at the super bowl forecast, yeah thats not a typo it will actually be subzero outside the dome for kickoff on sunday.
