Now the property may be gone but environmental Officials Say that the harmful effects that the company left behind, they are just beginning to surface. Me and my husband are scared. Reporter because because for two and a half years Teresa Riveria and her family rented a house right across the street from the old killtone plant. Earl her this year the Environmental Protection agency, sampled the soil at riverias and other nearby properties, and the results show that the top 2 inches of the soil contain Dangerous Levels of lead and arsenic. I mean that is some serious stuff. I have a 13 yearold son and he has been playing in this dirt. We have a dog, we cannot let her be in the yard so we have to wash her paws and stuff because she can lick her paws and poison her. You know what i mean.
