New data shows the number of Overdose Deaths in San Francisco, slightly down, but remains at crisis levels, according to numbers released just today by the San Francisco Health Department, 64 people died from accidental overdoses last month, including 47 from fentanyl. Now, this is down slightly from january,uwhen 67 people died. But its an increase from february of lastt year, when 52 people died of overdoses. The Health Department also announced it is expanding a type of addiction intervention called contingency management. We want everyone to know, evenuthough addiction is a chronic illness, recovery is possible. There is a way out of addiction and into a healthier life. Contingency management provides incentives for people to stay sober.
