Later in the day, hundreds opeople gathered outside the israeli consular it in the financial district in support of palestine. These demonstrate actions called for an end to us aid to israel in a show of support for the palestinian people. Critics say the term puts the blame on the person who died rather than on police. Every one of our cases, a person is a person of color or mentally ill or both. As Madeleine Rivera tells us from washington, this gathering comes ahead of a Candidate Forum tomorrow where theyll hear the pros and cons of the candidates running for the role as fighting rages on in israel and gaza. Lawmakers in congress are wondering how they can respond, if they can respond at all without a speaker of the house is essentially paralyzed and unable to bring legislation like packas with aid for israel to the floor. We must be there for our friend israel. And what that means, it means action now. There are also questions surrounding speaker pro tem Patrick Mchenrys role and how much he can do. Its not really clear if the speaker pro tem Patrick Mchenry can even get the Intelligence Briefings to know exactly what is going on in real time. But some republicans believe the crisis in the middle east could force a deeply divided gop to unite and expedite the process of electing a speaker. The two candidates are vying for the role. House judiciary chairman jim jordan and House Majority leader steve scalis. Well, its my hope that our republican colleagues get their act together. Can settle on a speaker who can receive 217 votes, and that we can move forward to get the business of the American People done. Others say theyre willing to take action without a speaker, given how urgent the situation is for meeks. And i have been working on bipartisan resolution condemning hamas for what they have done to israel. We want to get that on the floor by unanimous consent. Whether or not we have a speaker in place because as i think we cannot wait, the republican conference takes a secret vote on wednesday on who and what to nominate for speaker on the floor. The full house could then take a vote on speaker on thursday at the earliest. In washington, marla rivera, ktvu fox two news. Yes, we are looking at, at least in the weather when it comes to cooler temps, cloudier conditions, even a little bit of rain outside our doors at this hour. A beautiful view there over the east bay. Wow what a gorgeous shot. You can see all those clouds, little bit of sun attempting to poke through there and a few scattered showers reported apart across the bay area. This line stretches all the way. You can see from areas north of washington, through washington, oregon and over Northern California. For us, it is moving through and it is only bringing just a little amount of rain with it. Storm tracker two here, you can see the line of rain over areas of the north bay as we shift over towardshe central bay, a pocket of moderate rain, it looks like right through the San Pablo Bay and over towards San Francisco. So some rain there. The inner east bay has reported a few sprinkles. South bay likely to get a few sprinkles. The peninsula seeing some rain overhead there at this time. And as we shift a little bit east, you can see weve got some green on the screen along highway four from that transition in over towards from concord, over towards the antioch. We may have some there as well as along i80 near in in and out of vallejo towards a fairfield. A lot of 60s in and around the bay. 64 in napa, low 60s right now, walnut creek, mid 60s over san jose. Our winds are generally light, not seeing a whole lot of wind out there even calm in novato. But there is a gust to 12mph at times in fairfield reporting an onshore breeze as well as concord at about eight miles per hour. So a little bit of a breeze out there. Not bad. Palo alto, a mountain view, sfo, all reporting between 5 and 10mph. Our cloudy conditions, cooler conditions and a slight possibility of those scattered showers remaining in the forecast through late this evening with the cloudy conditions. As you can see, were not expecting much. 10th of an inch or less for parts of the bay area. We will get another chance tomorrow, although it looks very similar to today. And the future cast here will show you getting into the evening hours that we will be mostly cloudy and that drizzle and the possibility of a few sprinkles will remain low. Temperatures this afternoon going to be below average. Big difference in change from the heat that we experienced late last week and into the weekend. 68 today, santa rosa, mid 60s, San Francisco upper 60s, oakland, 74 in livermore and 73 expected over san jose. Have a better look at the afternoon highs for today and what we can expect for the rest of the week into the weekend. Coming up in just a little bit. Andre, rosemary, thank you so much.
