Welcome, everyone, to the four this afternoon. Im alex savage and im cristina rendon. That indictment brought by the special counsel investigate the january 6th riot and efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Lets get right to our political reporter, greg lee, whos tracking these developments greg. Christina . Alex, this marks the third criminal indictment against the former president. Todays federal charges the result of a Justice Department investor into mr. Trumps alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election. The indictment, filed by special counsel jack smith in Federal District court in d. C. Smith also led the investigation into trumps handling of classified documents in this case, federal prosecutors accused trump of being determined to remain in power and peddling conspiracies and lies that the 2020 election was stolen from him. The unrest ultimately leading to the january 6th, 2021, attack on the capitol. As part of the investigation, prosecutors interviewed Elections Officials in georgia, wisconsin, michigan and other states who came under pressure to change Voting Results in states President Biden won. Heres a look at the charges listed in the indictment returned by that grand jury. They are conspiracy to defraud the united states, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, conspiracy against wrights special counsel. Smith spoke a short time ago. Heres what he said. The attack on our nations capitol on january six, 2021, was an unprecedented assault on the seat of american democracy. Its described in the indictment. It was fueled by lies, lies by the defendant targeted at obstructing a bedrock function of the us government. The nations process of collecting, counting and certifying the results of the president ial election. Now, the indictment unsealed today only charges former President Trump, but it refers to six coconspirator. Others it is unclear when smith might name them. Mr. Trump has already been indicted in the classified documents case, as well as by a manhattan grand jury related to falsifying of business records. You see college of the law professor david levine believes this indictment is the most severe yet, that it was not just january 6th, but its the lead up in terms of trying to subvert democracy in seven states with the fake electors. And the threats to Vice President pence that its all of a piece. But theyre all very, very serious. So it is perhaps the most momentous indictment. The Justice Department has ever issued in its entire history. Former President Trump has continued to maintain his innocence and slammed the doj. His campaign released a statement saying these unamerican witch hunts will fail and President Trump will be reelected to the white house. So he can save our country from the abuse, incompetence and corruption that is running through the veins of our country at levels never seen before. Again, mr. Trump has been summoned to appear before a judge in washington, dc on thursday afternoon. All this as he continues to remain the gop frontrunner for the white house in 2024. Alex christina and greg with the first two indictments against former President Trump, we saw that he benefited politically from those. Is there any reason to believe that these latest charges, the things will be any different . Well, and alex, you said it there. We have precedent for this in the last two indictments, there were Campaign Emails that were sent. Weve already seen a fundraising email sent to his supporters. And in those two times previous, we saw huge bumps in his fundraising numbers. So we do not anticipate that this will hurt his standing. In fact, a new poll today released by Siena College before the indictment, obviously listed him as is crushing his other gop opponents by three times more than 30 points over those opponents and in a dead heat against President Biden in 2024. So if anything, we anticipate the former president will continue to use this case that is against him for his benefit out. All right, greg, well check in with you in the next hour. Greg, thank you. Well, San Jose City workers are voting today on whether to go on strike in an effort to get a new labor contract. The bargaining teams from two unions are recommending members authorize a three day strike. Theyve been working without a contract since the end of june. The sticking points include pay increases, parental leave and staffing shortages. The union says the shortages are impacting employees and affecting the delivery of High Quality Public Services to residents, not just given the current dynamic in the city of san jose and really the morale of the employee base. I think that the majority of our membership will go yes, and well be ready to strike. The unions represent more than 4500 city workers, including librarians, 911 dispatchers, Animal Shelter techs, engineers and airports staff. The results of the strike vote will be announced on monday, but there is no target date yet for the strike. Mayor marin issued a statement ahead of the voting saying in part, quote, we are committed to negotiating a deal that is fair to everyone in our workers and our residents who rely on the essential services our city provides. But the hard truth is this money has to come from somewhere. If my Council Colleagues want to go beyond our last, best and final offer of a 5 raise plus increased paid parental leave next year, they will have to identify which Core City Services theyre willing to cut. This afternoon, crews remain at the scene of a huge fire that started early this morning in San Francisco. It destroyed a building that was under construction right near the intersection of oak and octavia, ctvs Christien Kafton joins us live from the scene of that fire tonight. Christian, are the streets still blocked out there . Yeah, Christina Alex im looking up oak right now and i can see that traffic is slow in the area. You can see why the intersection here at oak and octavia still shut down as crews work to get ready to remove that scaffold right there, which was damaged in this mornings huge fire. And we have some video of that fire to show you just how bad it was earlier today. Crews say the fire at this building at oak and octavia started shortly before 6 a. M. The blaze grew quickly, due in part to the fact that the building was still under construction. Neighbors who live nearby awoke to flames, lighting up the Early Morning sky. That fire and the more than 140 firefighters, police and traffic crews that responded to it in the area meant that traffic through the area ground to a halt. Now, crews allowed some traffic to pass through the area shortly before noon, but at this hour, they are still waiting for that crane to help remove the scaffolding here. And theres no estimate on when traffic will be allowed to proceed both ways on this busy commute corridor, the Property Owner and the Construction Company are working with City Services to bring a crane in to remove this scaffolding safely. Were going to keep the street closed until that is done. The fire crews do say nobody was injured in this fire, but eight people did have to be displaced and evacuated as the fire damaged nearby buildings. Crews worked for more than two hours to contain the fire, but the damage had already been done to the morning commute. Drivers had to reroute around this usually very busy intersection. And guys, again, im looking up oak street and i can see that there is a major traffic backup. This again, one of the major routes in and out of San Francisco, the outbound traffic is slow right now. The inbound traffic coming off the freeway up. Octavia the non existent right now, guys, any word on the fire in terms of the cause . Yeah great question. That is one of the questions that we had for the firefighters here on scene. They say the cause of that fire is under investigation. Now, we did see crews going in with dogs. We saw fire investigators on scene trying to get to the bottom of exactly what happened here. Now, remember, this was a building that was under construction. So because it was under construction, that means there could have been tools around. There could have been some possible source of an accid numerous neighbors come up and tell us that they were concerned because into that site, living in that site, transients in the neighborhood who they say have caused a series of fires over the last couple of months. In fact, some neighbors have been so concerned about the series of fires in this area that theyve written to city officials, saying that they were concerned they had safety concerns about fires and they had concerns in particular about this building right here behind me, because they say it was especially vulnerable because it was under construction at the time. They say that they were worried about something exactly like this happening. All right. Still a lot of questions about how that huge fire started in San Francisco. Christian captain live at the scene. Thank you. Well, california battles, wildfires every year and they are trying different methods to minimize damage this summer. The state is testing out an ai solution to help firefighters get to a scene sooner. Fox weathers max gordon has more now from san diego. Suzanne leininger scans her screen. I would say thats a real fire. And although it may not look like it, yeah, thats my vote. Shes following in footsteps more than a century old. All of us are teaching ai all the time, instructing ai to be the fire lookouts of the future lookouts are the grandfather of ai using a network of more than a thousand cameras across california. The ai is being used to spot smoke and alert firefighters. The goal is to get some really Early Detection right now, only six of cal fires, 21 units are getting ai generated alerts and people like suzanne are still analyzing the ais work to train it to differentiate between smoke and other anomalies like dust or clouds. I will go to that to that particular detection and say yes or no, whether thats a fire or not, its not yet a perfect system, but the hope is that Early Detection with ai can lead to quicker responses with these fires, time is of the essence. Our goal is to keep 95 of these fires at ten acres are less, and to do that, we need to get to these fires quickly. The Camera Network monitors californias wild land around the clock, utilizing Near Infrared night vision and can make 360 degree sweeps about every two minutes. You get a good look at the earths topography. And not only can you predict where the fire is going to go when the fire is done, you can also predict where youre going to have problems such as landslides and things like that come the rainy months. But for all the tech, theres no replacement for boots on the ground, no matter what we do back here, the water still needs to go on the fire and we will always need the engines and the firefighters. I simply adds another tool. But that to me is a real fire in californias fight against wildfires. All right. Turning now to our weather here in the bay area as we give you this live look here out across the oakland estuary over toward San Francisco the day started off pretty gray for a lot of folks and you could really feel how much cooler it was today. Meteorologist Rosemary Orozco joining us now from the Weather Center tracking whats to come this week. Were not quite done with the heat. Youre right. Youre right, alex. We are going to cool things down. In fact, we did cool things down today. Going to hold on to this trend for a couple of days before we heat it up in time for the weekend. How about a look at sfo where we have low clouds out there still at this hour . And as we roll a little bit closer to sunset, do expect the clouds to move back across the bay . Heres a look at storm tracker. Two clouds along the coastline, even a little bit of drizzle out there. A possibility the onshore breeze is with us. And with that, temperatures again falling off. Fairfield reporting sustained winds 16mph. Oakland gusting to 22. Sfo, also gusting to about 30mph. This afternoon. Heres a look at sfo where its actually gusting to 31. We have Mountain View reporting a sustained at 17, gusting to 23. So afternoon highs coming down the onshore breeze is with us anywhere from 5 to 10 degrees below where we were at this time yesterday, down by nine in santa rosa, down by seven in concord and livermore. So you definitely noticed that this afternoon, 84 in concord in the north bay, a very mild 70 for napa, 61 in the city of San Francisco, 72 right now over san jose. If youre going to oracle park for the giants game a little bit later this afternoon, temperatures will be cool and it will be breezy. Were looking at 60 degrees at game time and a west breeze to about 15mph with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. Bring along the jacket. Make sure you bundle up as we get into the evening hours. Again, the low clouds are moving back across the bay into the north bay. And for tomorrow morning, very widespread. The possibility of patchy drizzle as well as the fog along the coastline and take a look at that, the fog all the way into the Sacramento Valley indicating a very robust onshore breeze. Ill have a look at the temperatures expected for tomorrow and what we can expect heading into the weekend coming up. Rosemary, thank you. And more insight into the Economic Outlook. Alpha is the Research Unit for Morgan Stanley released the latest survey results. The end of Student Loan Repayment pause is prompting some financial concerns. Of those surveyed, 67 of students say that they do have loans, but only 26 say that they think theyll have enough money to resume Monthly Payments 36 say in order to make it work, theyre going to have to cut back in other areas, while 38 say they will not be able to make the payments at all for more on those cutbacks and how consumers will navigate the changes, were joined by George Mcatee Wealth Advisor with Morgan Stanley. George always good seeing you. Thanks for being with us today. First off, give us the explanation or the reaction here to these survey results. Well, we do this once a month. Christina and we surveyed 2000 consumer and a third our high income, a third of middle income and a third or lower income. The results are always very revealing because it tells you how people feel about their own personal Economic Situation and how they feel about the economy. Thats important because we use that information to do planning consumption in our economy is really important. And the survey kind of points out some weaknesses. One of the things were concerned about is that is that the lower income folks as a as a as a group, have gotten a reprieve for a couple of years. And not having to pay their federal loans. This is all going to start again in august. And as you said about 33 of the people that we surveyed really even werent even aware that the loan payments had to begin, which means theyre going to have higher interest costs. And also penalties. The other interesting part of the survey. Yes, go on. No go ahead. I thought you were done. The other interesting part about the survey is that the fact that that that people have not had to pay these loans, they have able to put money back into the economy to buy Consumer Staples , you know, basic things that people need to live on thats going to stop. So theres going to be a Financial Impact on those middle income to lower income individuals that have to make these loan payments. Beginning this month. Do you feel like it will have a Ripple Effect on the economy . I mean, if people arent making these student loans, student loan payments, overall, how does the economy change . Well, we measure our economy, what we call the gross domestic product. And 75 of that is really based on consumption. So if people have to use their funds now to pay loans, they wont have as much money to buy things that help to fuel the economy. So it should have some effect on the gross domestic product, which has actually been doing fairly well this year. Were kind of moving at about a 2. 5 clip right now in spite of the high Interest Rates that were seeing. And its not just student loan payments. Were talking about back to school time. Its august. Now, this alpha y survey also showed that there are payments here or parents are sending their kids back to school. And those parents say that 38 plan to spend more than last year, 20 plan a plan to spend less, excuse me. And another 42 say theyre going to spend about the same. So what advice do you have for parents as they send their kids off to school . Well spending is going to be high. All parents want their children ready for school. And so they really need to look for sales and they need to look for deals. I mean, there are deals out there to be looked at. And what were really seeing, what we found in the survey is parents are going to spend most of the money first on apparel, clothes for the kids. Thats about a 21 increase from last year. Apparel information on getting students back to school. Also student supplies. You got to make sure they have a backpack, pen and pencils, paper or maybe even a computer. And so were going to see were were seeing about a 12 increase in how people feel about their spending for student supplies. And then electronics, which you think could be a big number, will come in about as much as it did last year. So those people that have income and money are spending. Its really concerning, though. People at the lower middle income range and the lower income range that maybe may not be able to equip their children as well. So they need to be looking for deals. Also in sales that may be out there. Yeah given how expensive everything is nowadays, always great advice. George cicchetti, were going to leave the conversation there. Financial expert with Morgan Stanley. Always appreciate you coming on the show. Thank you. Christina all right. Im next on the floor today. Over 1 million dedicated to improving the juvenile Justice System in contra up, wek live with congressman Mark Desantis about the funding and how more resources could help to improve the lives of young people. Thats coming up today at the board of supervisors meeting. And this funding is aimed at connecting Law Enforcement with better training to respond to young adults and help reduce the number of youth arrests in the county. The money is all part of the consolidated appropriate act, which included a total of 21. 7 million in federal funds for a variety of projects across Contra Costa County. For more on how the money is going to be used, we are joined now by congressman Mark Desantis, who helped to pass the consolidated appropriation act. Congressman desantis. We always appreciate the time. Thanks for coming on today. Explain how exactly this money is going to be used to train Law Enforcement in Contra Costa County as part of this broad effort to bring down the number of youth arrests . Well, thanks for having me. Come on. Its a terrific subject. We have a long history in contra costa being really a National Model when it comes to helping at risk kids avoid being in cars. Im a former juvenile probation officer. Its been a passion for me. So everything were learning on cognitive development, neuroscience, this is what this grant is about, is using Training Programs that actually started successfully in boston with the Boston Police department, letting officers know that kids are different, their brains are different. They respond differently. So its very effective training to help avoid making arrests when you dont need to. You can talk a kid down and how how is this funding and the training that that Law Enforcement officers will receive going to shift the focus in the juvenile Justice System away from punishment and towards rehabilitation . Yeah and avoidance. Just almost 50 of juvenile arrests in this country are because of communication. They actually dont get adjudicated all the way through because theres not a basis for it. So the officers arent doing anything wrong. This is just weve had an approach that didnt work. And now, as i say, with the phenomenal amount of information we have now about neuroscience and how brains develop, this is a more thoughtful approach that saves money. So heres some of the numbers from Contra Costa County, which im sure youre well aware of, but well put them up for the audience here. Youth arrest in in the year 2022, in the county totaled 446. Those are felony and misdemeanor arrests combined. And that number was up from the year before in 2021, when there were 385 total arrests. But broadly speaking, the numbers are trending down in Contra Costa County when it comes to youth arrests. Ever since 2013, you feel confident that youre youre on the right trajectory. And how much does this additional federal funding help in the effort . I think we are. I know we are. I mean, these are this is really well thought out and research nationally and internationally. So this, as i say, using the information weve gotten because of imaging, brain imaging, dna, genetics is understanding how all of our brains work, and particularly with young kids who respond emotionally differently. So these are Good Investments both for the individuals, their families, but for the taxpayer and that those numbers are in a county that has 1 million and a quarter people almost. So were doing the right thing here. You worked in the criminal justice, the youth criminal Justice System here. So you obviously have a lot of insight here. What do you what do you think people get wrong about how young people interact with the criminal Justice System . Well, i think, too often we dont understand stress and trauma and poverty. We havent for a long time. So it was, you know, spare the rod and spoil the child. And we know that thats not the right approach. And we also know that thats not even the accurate biblical analogy. The shepherd used the rod to guide the flock. And this is sort of consistent with that approach. And as i say , weve got lots of research now that shows us that this works. Finally, congressman, let me ask you about what were seeing. Weve seen unfold here in california over the last couple of years. As you know, the state is closing all of its youth prisons that were state run prisons. And thats now going to be shifting to local probation departments to house young people who have been convicted of crimes. What does this transition mean for Contra Costa Countys Youth Probation Department and how does this additional funding factor into that that shift . Right. So this is a long strategy. Its called realignment actually started when i was a county supervisor when pete wilson was governor and has gone steadily to this conclusion in the state legislature. I had the budget subcommittee that had corrections in juvenile justice. So its a long process. The state of missouri actually was at the forefront of this kind of approach, and it worked for them before california did it. But other big states are doing it again, this focus, having the kids in their community under the under the guidance of the local courts and the local probation department, if they are adjudicated, works better. And then we avoid arrests as ive said before, when we do it this way. All right. Well, we appreciate your your perspective here and the time, as always, east bay congressman mark, jason, good to see you. Thanks alex. Sure up next, hope for a vaccine to treat a rare and aggressive form of Breast Cancer. Well speak live with the head of the American Cancer Society about the research subways now slicing their deli meats fresh. Thats why the new titan turkey is proferred by this football pro. And proferred by this football pro who actually uses her feet. And if we profer it, we know youll prefer it too. I use my feet. Have you seen me scramble . Biosciences according to the American Cancer Society, triple negative Breast Cancer makes up about 10 to 15 of all Breast Cancer cases in the us and affects 13 out of every 100,000 women here in the us, though, triple negative Breast Cancer is rare, it is aggressive and it can spread rapidly, meaning that a vaccine to combat the disease could play a Critical Role in saving lives. For more on this and the hope for a vaccine, we are joined by dr. Karen knudsen, ceo of the American Cancer Society. Dr. Knudsen, thank you so much. This afternoon, really just want to get into the importance of this. We know that Clinical Trials are life saving. Clinical trials are life saving. And its important to know these are early phase studies that are intended to look at safety and tolerability of new strategies in this case, a new strategy to prevent cancers from forming and to prevent deadly cancers from recurring. What is the Science Behind this for triple negative Breast Cancer . We read that there was one patient. What did she report . Yeah so triple negative Breast Cancer is an aggressive form of Breast Cancer. It is. While less less common than other kinds of Breast Cancer accounts for a significant number of Breast Cancer mortalities, especially in younger individuals. Blacks and hispanics in this country. So very important to identify new strategies to address triple negative Breast Cancer. The Science Behind this is relatively straightforward to essentially train the immune system to see something that is specific to a cancer cell or in this case specific to a Breast Cancer cell. So this is what the vaccine is all about. The first set of studies was intended to look at women with triple negative Breast Cancer who had completed treatment to see if the vaccine could train their immune system to see subsequent cancers. And so that study is ongoing. And as weve understood the reports, theres a second study planned, whats called a phase one b study to look at cancer free individuals and to determine these women who will be enrolled, who are at high risk, whether or not the vaccine can actually prevent cancers from forming. I think this is really encouraging for women out there to hear because some people may be under the assumption that chemotherapy is the only way of treating cancer if theyre not familiar with treatments. I mean, they have experimental vaccines existed for some time now. We have seen Cancer Vaccines in the treatment space. Thats without question. But we also have a very strong cancer vaccine against a whole host of cancers, those caused by the human papillomavirus. Hpv vaccination is Cancer Prevention. And we have a real opportunity to end certain cancers in this country with this uptake of hpv vaccination. So vaccines are not new to Cancer Prevention and cancer therapy. But this strategy is specifically intended to train the immune system against something specific to Breast Cancer is new. So then would it be unheard of to say that we would eliminate Breast Cancer completely . Or thats not thats thats not out of the question, i guess you could say. Look, ultimately we want to end cancer as we know it, which means preventing cancers from forming. And for those cancers that do form, finding ways to intervene , intervene early and eradicate those cancers. Now, this vaccine still has a long way to go, right. This is early phase testing. Thats thats being tried right now. So time will tell. But the Science Behind it is really quite intriguing and its wonderful to see that science now being translated into the clinic to determine whether women at high risk of recurrence. In the first phase, this was individuals who had been successfully treated for triple negative Breast Cancer and in the phase one b part that were hearing about now, individuals who are at high risk either because they have a genetic alteration or a high family history, whether or not the vaccine can actually prevent cancers from forming in those women. And so these are the kinds of benefits that you see downstream of Cancer Research translating into the clinic. This is how it all begins. And well see what that testing looks like so that we can make continue to make gains against Breast Cancer. Right absolutely. Well, dr. Karen knudsen, we appreciate your time, ceo of the American Cancer Society. Really appreciate the insight. Happy to be here. Thank you. More than seven decades after doctors took cells from a woman without her knowledge, justice is finally being served. Now those cells belonging to Henrietta Lacks went on to form the basis for modern medical research. Yet neither she nor her family were ever compensated until today. Foxs Griff Jenkins has more now from washington. This is such a significant occurrence in the course of human history, 70 years after her cells helped usher in the era of modern medicine, Henrietta Lacks is finally getting justice. Her family announcing a landmark settlement with biotech giant thermo fisher, alleging the company has been commercializing and profiting from innovations related to cells taken without lacks consent. Back in 1951. It all started at Johns Hopkins hospital, where laks was being treated for cervical cancer. It was there that Doctors First noticed a unique properties of her socalled hela cells. Simply put, her dna had special advantages that allowed the cell samples to survive and thrive in laboratories. They were the first humans cells to be cloned in there. Now a cornerstone of medical testing used in almost every major breakthrough for decades, including genetic mapping and vaccines for polio and covid 19 herself, where rob from her body. All the terms are confidential, but her grandchildren say theyre happy with the settlement. I want to thank my family members for doing such a great job coming together in solidary and making this happen. It was a long fight. The settlement was announced on what would have been the 103rd birthday of Henrietta Lacks in washington. Griff jenkins, fox news. Up next on the floor today, an abundance of bunnies prompting calls for help from San Francisco. Animal care and control. Up next on the four, we will talk live with the agencys executive director about the stepped up efforts to find forever homes for these rabbits, notably cooler day across the bay area and a trend were going to hold on to for at least a few days before we warm it up in time for the weekend. A better look at what you can expect for your n ghborhood coming up in a park and with bunnies doing what bunnies do. The group quickly grew the San Francisco shelter. Right now has nearly 40 rabbits. The citys animal care and control shelter right now, asking for the publics help. Here with this situation. And joining us now is virginia donahue, the executive director of San Francisco animal care and control. Virginia, thanks for coming on to talk about this. You are hoping that people will step up and care for some of these rabbits. How are you making it easier right now for people to adopt them . Well, right now, our rabbits are free to good homes, so we encourage people to come in, take a look at our rabbits, you know, see if theres one that that catches your eye. Rabbits are great starter pets. They do very well with children. Theyre great in situations where your kid wants a pet and the parent says, oh, thats a lot of commitment. A rabbit, you know . Well, rabbit is a commitment. Its much easier than a than a dog or even a cat. Theyre friendly, theyre social. They love to run around outside. All of our rabbits are already spayed or neutered and they come chipped and they come vaccinated. So really, its a its a great deal if you have room in your in your heart, in your home for a rabbit. There you go. A good a good starter pet. I think that probably will sound appealing to a lot of people. Why are we in this situation right now in San Francisco . And i know another number of other cities here in the bay area as well with this big population boom of rabbits. Whats going on . Well, its both rabbits and guinea pigs. We have a lot of guinea pigs, if youd rather have a guinea pig. But but most of these are relatively young animals. We think they were born during the pandemic. And however, people acquired these animals, they didnt get them spayed or neutered and rabbits breed like rabbits. So in this situation, usually when somebody surrenders a pet, theyre coming in with 1 or 1 animal at a time with rabbits and guinea pigs. Theyre coming in groups. Last week we had a group of five come in from one family who said, well, we had two, and we had no idea you know, and that happens all the time. So i know you want people to be aware of what it takes to care for rabbits here because you dont want people like you just pointed out, choosing to take in one of these rabbits and then deciding they cant do it. And then wanting to give them back or worse than that, leaving them somewhere like like a park, because thats obviously a very dangerous situation. Right we have had some either one or more people done a group of rabbits in a park in the city. Now we know theyre not people who adopted from us because we chip our rabbits, right . So we know that those were not our rabbits. But theres somebody rabbits and a Neighborhood Group was kind enough to go out there and be persistent enough to get these rabbits who do. Its amazing. They survived, but guess they were in a pack of blackberry brambles. So . So dogs and coyotes couldnt get to them. Its a dangerous situation for them to be in. Theyre not built to survive out in the wild. No a domestic rabbit is not like a wild rabbit. They are prey animals and they have zero skills to deal with the outside. All right. So you have about 40 or so rabbits you are hoping to adopt out to caring families who are watching this. Which way do you see the numbers going . Do you expect youre going to continue to get more rabbits and guinea pigs . Well, we hope not. But we had 133 rabbits alone come in last year, the year before. That is 88. So the numbers are going up. And we really need these numbers to go down. All right. And you need some caring families to step up and give them forever homes. We appreciate you talking to us today. Virginia donahue, director of San Franciscos animal care and control department. Appreciate the time. Thank you. Thank you so much. Back now to our bay area weather. A live look out at highway four towards pittsburgh. Temperatures expected to heat up later this week, especially inland. Well go back to rosemary in our Weather Center. Rosemary, i just got back from dallas today. It was hot there. Made me really appreciate our bay area weather. Yes, quite often people go on a trip, come back and wow, happy to see the fog when they enter the bay area. And thats exactly what we had today. And still seeing some out there at this hour. The clouds will move back across the bay. And by about sunset, do expect low clouds on the east bay shore as well as into the north bay as a cool down has occurred over the bay area and well continue over the next couple of days. Meanwhile central portion of the country as well as parts of the east still baking under that ridge of high pressure. We have this influence here right off our coastline, this trough that just kind of remains right over the pacific. So we just are nestled right in between.
