We invite everyone to celebrate fleet week by coming down and eating at your local favorite restaurant. Reporter city organizers say they will work during this time to plan for fleet week 2021. And i am so looking forward to next year, when hopefully covid will be behind us, and well be able to gather like we used to, and enjoy one anothers company, appreciating the work of the men and women of our military. Organizers say fleet week generates at least 10 million for the city every year. Plans for next year are already underway. It will be the 40th anniversary of fleet week in San Francisco, and organizers say they are already starting to plan the big return. Christien kafton, ktvu fox 2 news. All righty then. Theres the fog. Theres the airport. Theres the smoke, too. You can kind of see it. I mean, just a little bit. But you can see that reddish tinge up there. Thats the smoke lingering. We had a good dose of it this afternoon, especially out in the east bay, out towards vaccine and fairfield. You can see the fog. You know can actually see it moving. Thats pretty significant onshore wind, which is what you want to see right now, considering fires and smoke are sort of our big issue, and when you get an onshore wind like that, you can set yourselves up with a much cooler pattern. The system up here, thats up in the gulf of alaska, thats basically our best friend, as we go into the next couple of days. This system is growing, its big, its strong, and its going to bring rain, not just to us, but to washington oregon or, and all the way probably down to monterey. But all areas that need relief from smoke and fire. This happens on industry and on about it all week. Thats the big story, really, and as far as the weather goes. We do have fog along the coast. We will be steady as she goes the next few days, with temperatures that are trending down just a little bit. So its going to be cooler as we go through time, which is good. The smoke with the onshore wind and then this opportunity for showers on friday throughout the day, and then again on saturday afternoon. So here are the onshore winds. Thats the direction you want to see. S that the direction that pushes the fog a little further inland. Sfo is a 21 mile an hour wind right now, sustained. That would mean gusting perhaps to 25 or 28. Current temperatures. You see the greens around the bay, represents the sea breeze, right . Its a temperature, but, oh, yeah, its much cooler there and not getting into the inland bay values. Tomorrow sets up just like today, accept shouldnt be as much smoke. Fingers crossed. Smoke is tough, man.
