Nah, hes really cute, though. Hes a sensitive fellow, sofy picked him up, it would be basically animal abuse, because he would be waving his little paws. The good news here is we have a pattern that is going to keep us on the mild side to cooler, and then the rain that comes in here on saturday and sunday. Its funny, frank, because he knows i guess he knows when im doing the fiveday at this time, because right after the fiveday we go for a walk. I dont see him half the day, and about this time he shows up. Dogs are smart. Bill, thank you. After the break, it was a hit parade in l. A. , between the as and astros. The oakland as did something they havent done for a while when they moved into a second round of the postseason, but now theyll have to do exactly what they did during the wildcard round, and thats come from behind. The as and astros in the southland today add dodgers stadium for a best of 5 American League divisional series. Day games can make dodgers stadium feel like a launching pad, and thats what happened today. Chris davis goes off with matt olson in front of him. 20 oakland. The as added to that lead an inning later. Murphy sending the. I over the center field wall. And then alex bregman homered leading off the fourth, and then Carlos Corrales launched one with a man aboard. The as went long ball again to get the lead back in the bottom of the inning. Olson did this plenty of times during the regular season. This is his first one in the postseason. Mukilteo43 oakland. It was 53 as heading to the 6th, and then when things went bad. A twoout airer, and jose altuve singled, and it was 65 houston. The astros got four runs in the inning and then padded the lead in the 7th. Once again over that center field wall, the second homer of the game for alex. The two teams combined for 65 home runs in all in the 105 loss for the as. The as know there is still a lot of baseball to play. Its a longer series. Everybody wants to win game one, but we faced two elimination games and responded nicely. I expect the same tomorrow. Were not by any means panicking or nothing like that. Its just win tomorrow, yeah, just play the game, play our game. Dont really worry about all of the extra crap and just stick to the script. A very different monday feeling for the 49ers than the way they were feeling last week at this time. Last week we were extolling the virtues of backup quarterback nick mullen. Today its about how soon can Jimmy Garoppolo get back in the lineup. Mullins threw two crucial interceptions last night in a loss to the eagles. The costliest one was in the Fourth Quarter when the 49ers needed the drive to retake the lead and ended up being 6 points in the other direction. Mullins was replaced by c. J. Beathard. Quarterback status the number one topic at Kyle Shanahans press conference today. Im still not sure about jimmy. Just finished with the players about 30 minutes ago. So i dont know what well do on wednesday. Havent talked it identify with the coaches yet, so not sure. With the season just one quarter over, the Houston Texans have decided they needed to go in a different direction. In his 7th year as the head coach, bill obrien has been fired. Obrien was also named the texans general manager this off season, and it was in that capacity he made the controversial decision to trade Deandre Hopkins to the arizona cardinals. Romeo crennel will serve as the interim coach. Houston off to an 04 start. We go to a historic moment at Willie Mays Plaza for this day in sports history. A spot in the playoffs was still up for grabs when the giants and dodgers met on this day in 2001. Baseball history was also at stake as barry bonds set the single season record for home runs with number 71. Theres a high drive later in the game, bonds hit number 72, but the giants came up short 1110 as the Arizona Diamondbacks won the National League west and went on to win the world series. Thats this day in sports, october 5th. And, frank, youll like this one, the have acquired another veteran goalie, dub anything from the Minnesota Wild with the sharks now.
