That will come into play for the rest of your life. We talk about how do we teach this to our kids . So many parents try to talk them into it. Suck it up, things like that. I coach soccer for my daughter and son. I have done it all i feel like. I feel stressed. I feel like they may be having a problem with me being a coach and dad. I feel bad about it. Do you guys touch on that in regards to that parent, child coach relationship . I same mode. Im coaching my older just mak there for the right reasons. That is making each child better and help them learn and grow and not focus on your child. They say we are harder on our own children but having that communication with your child, i make sure they know, im the coach. Im not mom. Im here and i represent each athlete on the field. There is no coming to me with tears and saying i dont want to play now. You get no special treatment. As long as you communicate with the child, you will have a better relationship. It understand or get that. So, communicating and instilling this into them will make you a better coach. Children sports versus children not in sports. If you can address, im talking about later in life, how does that prepare them for later in life . Just being on a team, working with a team . They may not play sports later in life. They could be whatever. Do you see a difference . Well, this is the answers of why we go through this. There are so many pressure on kids. What is the endgame . What a play professionally . A lot of parents behave along the way that is going to happen but that is rare. We wrote the book to help parents pull out things you will use later in life, like accountability, performance anxiety. Mental toughness. Since the pandemic, we didnt have a lot of sports. Little league was canceled. Ive been doing my best to get them out on the field. Even so, i feel like they miss it. It has been difficult and their attitudes have changed. I dont know how much longer we will do this. Im struggling to get them involved in anything. Right. It is just changing the mindset of her child and using it as an opportunity. Say yes, sports arent happening right now. You cant compete but theres so much to do. Teach them how to prepare for when it does open up. How do we stay fit as a family . How can we be in a Small Group Setting and learn the technique for sport you want to play sosh a test. There is a routine. If you can change that mindset of being so negative and comparing them to other sports, it is changing it to a positive. It is hard. It is not easy. Parents need to realize it is hard work but it can be enjoyable and fun if you handle and communicate the situation. I feel like my daughters 24 7. She wants to go nonstop. My son who is great at sports, is more of a two sport kind of guy at 10 years old. The question is is it one sport or three sports quit is a better for them to be involved in sports . When you get a high school, what do you think in regards to a like its focusing on one sport in high school. In my day, it was to or three sports. We really believe children should try to play other sports, multiple sports or multiple activities so you have that exposure to different voices and coaches, teachers and other kids. Theres a lot of literature from the American Academy of pediatrics warning against just playing one sport at a young age. If your child is a two sport guy and he enjoys that, you dont have to push him. Surely, getting him involved in different activities, it really helps her social the moment and their selfesteem to be part of different things. One for the road. When he wrote this book, what did you learn from it . It says for a parent to be comfortable with that uncomfortable. To sit back and watch her child to experience it. You will fail and that is hard to watch. Youll see the tears but youll see the excitement and joy that sports can bring to there to support your child through this journey and help them understand is reality. Not every day will be a good day but how we reek that back react to it. Unfortunately, we have seen a lot of this, over the last few years. So many people had to go through this. You have to feel bad for them. Thousands of people. You see it every year. I mentioned this yesterday, here we are in late august. Think about the campfire in butte county, that was 2 years ago . I think it started in september. It started november 8. We have a long way to go before we get those first reins of the season. Hopefully, they will come earlier. That would be nice. It is nice to see the containment numbers, 17, 15, 27 . They are increasing. That is what we like to see. Thank you for joining us everyone. We will see you back here at noon. Wendy williams is coming up next. Rk city, its the Wendy Williams show. Now, heres. Wendy wendy here we go again. [cheers and applause] thanyo
