This weekend extreme weather is not only causing fires but Power Outages to. Pg e and grid operators say be prepared with the ongoing heat wave. More rolling blackouts could be on the way. Especially inland where the excessive heat warning in red is going to stay in effect through wednesday. All of this area, including parts of san jose are going to be under an excessive heat warning for the next 48 to 72 hours. The yellow area is an advisory that was to be dropped at about 9 00 tonight. That was extended until 9 00 tomorrow night. These yellow areas, you guys are under heat advisory as we go through tomorrow through the entire day. It should be dropped after that. The fire danger is definitely high. It is hot and we have had lightning strikes. It is fire weather because firestarter easy. It is not firestorm whether. Dont be too worried. Im getting a lot of calls about big wind. They are not really there. There is enough heat and dryness to spark fires easily. Right now, several fires are burning around the bay area. Look at this map. Officials have now issued mandatory evacuations in Contra Costa County where the deer zone fires are burning. Those fires have burned about 400 acres with no containment. Firefighters are also battling another fire, the marsh fire has burned 850 acres. It is zero containment. Greg ligands joins us with the latest on the evacuations. I want to begin by giving an update on the evacuation orders that have been expanded. It now includes residence along Morgan Territory road, south of marsh creek road in brentwood. It also affects residence along marsh creek road between way into deer valley road. Those evacuations are associated with the deer zone fires. As you mentioned, we have the marsh fire. The marsh fire, now burning near the Regional Park is one of several that may have been sparked this morning by mother nature. We had dry lightning hitting the ground which may have started some fires. Cal fire said the fire was started by a dry lightning strike. Five structures have been damaged and another 30 are threatened. Police in American Canyon are investigating a deadly shooting in the safeway parking lot. That happened shortly after noon at safeway on American Canyon road.
