The suv went over a concrete wall and crashed on top of a stationary train before landing on the ground in a commercial facility. Two women and two men were killed at the seen. Investigators say all appeared to be in their late teens and early 20s. We told about this yesterday morning. One of the vendors said the manager of the Farmers Market told him to stop passing out pride flags. That vendor, dan floyd, said he did have a problems over last year. But last sunday the Farmers Market manager, gail hayden, told him passing out the flags violated his vendor agreement. She said safety and liability concerns were among the reasons. The mayor of hillsboro announced shes going to resign at the end of this month after she dismissed calls for a formal debate about police rerm. Two weeks ago the City Council Meeting mayor leo gold and her colleagues said it wasnt necessary to have the police chief reports on the use of force in the Police Department. That led a petition drive calling for the mayor to be recalled. Myhrvold will officially resign at the end of the month. ] happening today, Senate Republicans are going to introduce their plan for police reform. The gop plan calls for a ban on choke holds more Police Training, and a database to track police use of force. It is similar to a plan by house democrats, but does not include their call to strip the qualified immunity from Police Officers. That protects them from lawsuits against their actions in the field. The Republican Police reform plan is similar to an executive order that was signed by President Trump that laid out new guidelines for Police Training and use of force. The president signed that executive order at the white house yesterday after meeting with families of People Killed during interactions with Police Officers. The president s order calls for a higher standard for Police Officers and more accountability. Democrats a the president s order does not go far enough. Its pretty weak if you ask me. And it really doesnt speak to the real hard issues as it relates to police reform. Calls for the Justice Department provide grants to the Police Department for use of force and deescalation training. Today facebook is planning on launching a Voter Information Center in an effort to get voters registered for the november election for the company says it will offer some materials on registration and voting by mail on both facebook and instagram. Facebook will also pridregister where to find their Daughters Center in their town or city and how they can mail in a ballot and more.
