This is the first time the state is launching a civil rights investigation into the systemic discriminatory practice of the largest Police Department in the state in the only investigation focusing on policies and practices implemented by the Minneapolis Police department. That investigation will review department policies, procedures and practices over the last 10 years to see if there is systemic discrimination.
