Also north of sand hill road, a collision with the vehicles involved on the right hand shoulder, as well and zooming in we dont have a report of a crash. There was an earlier crash eastbound 237 near millepedis. That crash has long since cleared. Im not sure if its just heavy traffic or if Something Else happened but well keep an eye on it. This is eastbound highway 4 through martinez and from here all the way through eastern Contra Costa County youre going to have some very dense fog conditions. Were seeing the dense fog in some spots really affecting the traffic conditions but before we get to the picture were going to show you, i want to show you the map in the south bay because there is some traffic stacking up behind a crash northbound 87 at kirtner, single vehicle crash but its blocking one of the middle lanes in the south bay. From there we head up north, northbound 880 at thornton avenue near fremont there is a collision there, as well. No lanes are blocked, but we see a little bit of slow traffic behind it. We did mention that earlier crash this morning westbound highway 24 at central lafayette because of the heavy fog conditions maybe. This was a single vehicle crash the vehicle hit the certainty divide and you can see that advisory here in the concord area. This is 242 just before you get to southbound 680, and thats because of this, these heavy fog that you see in this picture. This is southbound 680. This is what the conditions look like. You can see people taking it slow and visibility is very limited because of the thick fog in the area. County Officials Say they plan to put into action here issues that they hope to tackle will be outreach and housing placement. It is open to the public and will be discussing one way to tackle whats become a growing problem. The encampment set up along the trail has grown significantly now to roughly 200 people with dozens and dozens of tents. Neighbors are scared for their safety and a big reasons why numerous fires have been started at the camp. One womans home is right next to the trail and had to use her own hose when she saw flames roaring up from the other side of a fence and monday night a propane tank exploded. Fire officials confirmed theyve answered 25 calls throughout december and one every day every on the last week. It does fall under the sonoma pack umbrella, but local fire and Police Respond to calls at the encampment. One neighbor said she just wishes those living there would be more aware of their surroundings and be more conscious of the neighbors. I feel bad for them, but i also think they could do a little bit better than what they are doing. Keeping the place cleaned and picked up. They show no effort on some of the ends of the trail here. Reporter the county is calling the situation a homeless emergency. They are set to discuss an indoor and outdoor shelter and other issues will include Pest Control Services and trash pick up three times a week set to start next week. He managed to evade the man and call police who caught up with the suspect a few blocks away. This is video he shot of police arresting the man he says was chasing him and police say the suspect faces multiple charges. Police in dublin are investigating a homicide. They say a man shot and killed his exgirlfriend when she and another man confronted him about a gun wednesday night 11 30 when a man who living in the condone complex heard banging on his front door. The man says his exgirlfriend and another man forced the door open and pointed a gun right at them. Basically he was fearing for his life and shot that firearm basically to get him out of that house and then he left and call 911 immediately. Police say the exgirlfriend died at the scene and the man she was with was taken to the hospital where hes expected to survive. The motive is not yet known. A young man accused of killing his father on new years day will be extradited to california. Authorities tracked him down at Incline Village following a massive manhunt accused of killing his father in the california town of pine grove in amador county. Neighbors who watched the son grow up say they are absolutely shocked. I never would have suspected from everything ive heard about him, my granddaughter says he would be capable of such a thing. Investigators have not revealed a possible motive or details about the killing. Allie, where do you want to go right now . Were going to go to the east bay. Highway 24 in lafayette is where we want to show you. We have some pretty dense fog in the area and that has affected the visibility and may have had an impact on the crash that happened in westbound 24 at central lafayette off ramp and its in the clearing stages but we still have some pretty tricky driving conditions all along the area. This is a look at southbound 680, a live picture from photographer chip vaughan who is driving in this area and just past street boulevard, and this is in the walnut creek area and you can see pretty thick fog. Im just going to briefly show you this is what our Traffic Camera looks like, highway 24. You cant even see the roadway and then you go over the hill, east bay hills, you have sunshine. This is the east shore freeway from the carquinez bridge. What a difference a few miles makes when you have the microclimates in full effect. Right, mark . The camera is beside me. You can see one camera is in the fog and the other camera looking towards San Francisco in the clear, and this as you mentioned is a reversal of the summertime pattern. Typically we get this in the inland valleys and the fog is very dense and dangerous. Be careful of that in the shortterm. As we check out the current visibility reports, most areas show you ten miles but as we zoom in near concord, fairfield over a mile, and whats happening it looks like some of this fog from the Central Valley is seeping in to portions of solano and Contra Costa County and thats when we have the real reduced visibility this is morning.
