Tonight in a fivepage letter to the ceo of pg e, Governor Newsome said the plan falls short. Quote, the resolution of that bankruptcy must yield a transformed utility that is responsible and accountable. He said they must address a number of key issues, including a new board of directors, setting up clearly defined safety and metrics for which pg e will be accountable and allowing for the transfer of its operating license to a state or third party if the Company Fails to meet those requirements. We want to see a plan in place for that as well. Weve always wanted the investments by pg e to come back and build a more resilient system, microgrid, you name it. Across the board to ensure that the Design Standards of the system are gonna withstand the next wind storm on a low humidity, windy day that we will inevitably have. I do think time is of the essence. The utility said it would welcome feedback and will continue to work diligently. Pg e has until tuesday to give its response to the governor. Now to a sixpower standoff involving a Home Invasion robbery suspect who bear arricaded himself on top of a fremont building. At times he threw objects at police below. Reporter during the six hour standoff with police, the Home Invasion robbery suspect appeared angry at times while he was on the roof of a five Story Building in fremont. He was armed with a torch and a large knife. He was seen lighting a rag on fire and throwing objects down to the ground. Firefighters were onscene to help. Being in a precarious situation, meaning the roof. Reporter the ordeal started less than a mile away at an apartment complex on woodcreek perish around 10 30 am. The man had broken into the home through a window while a woman was inside. The suspect hit her. She did not require medical treatment. But he did hit her. And i think it was a very scary situation. Reporter neighbors heard the victim screaming and saw the man running and called police. Workers were evacuated. They talked him into surrounding peacefully. We sent in people that could communicate effectively with the person. Reporter during the standoff, roads in the area were closed. Weve been waiting in traffic for about 45 minutes. We didnt know what happened. Reporter that man was trying to make his way to the coconut hill Indian Grocery store across the street from the standoff. Workers at the store say the Police Activity impacted business. Others applaud police for the way they handled the situation. Police are doing a very good job right now. Very good. Police say the man will undergo a Mental Health evaluation before being booked on criminal charges.
