The kincade fire has stopped spreading all evacuation orders have been lifted there are still some evacuation orngs. That means they do have to be prepared. A federal judge wants to know if pg e. S and that the fire could have been sparked by a broken power line found on a transmission tower near where the fire started. That line connects two high voltage lines which are held up by the transmission towers arms. The judge wants to know if a break in an energized jumper cable to spark and hes asking when the last inspection for the power line broke. Pg e has until the end of the month to get that information to them. They have been without electricity for more than a week but thousands of customers who had their gas shut off as well because of the kincade fire are still waiting for pg e. Crews are expecting gas lines and going from building to building to relight pilot lights. Pg e proactively shut off gas to about 24,600 customers in the fire foot frint or those in the predicted path of the fire for safety. For the safety of the firefighters, the community, and the integrity of the natural gas system that runs through there. Pg es latest report says 3700 customers are still without gas service. Today the Investigation Continues into the mass shooting halloween night in orinda. Allie razmus is in orinda tonight. There is a vigil planned here at this memorial for the victims of that halloween night shooting at the airbnb here in orinda. People have left behind flowers, candidatals. The men and women who died on thursday night range in age from 19 to 29 years old. There are among 100 people attending what has been billed as a halloween mansion party. It was at an airbnb. Just before 11 00 that night someone started shooting. The tragedy has sparked a debate here in orinda about Short Term Rentals and whether they should be more strictly regulated to prevent illegal parties like the one where the shooting happened. There are a number of people that have sent emails and communicated that thats what they would like. Theres also, you know, folks that have said, you know, this is really about gun control too. So you have a lot of different perspectives. Now theres no word yet on what led up to this shooting, the motive. No word on any arrests either. Neighbors called to complain about the Halloween Party noise twice the night of that shooting. Police responded about 20 minutes after that second noise complaint came in. Larksburg made the list of having full roads but they are moving in the right direction. They came across here construction right behind us. That entire street has been freshly repaved. Overall the report says the quality of bay area roads was a minor improvement funded by the recent hike in the states gas tax. Its a detailed map showing the conditions of the street the average roads were 68 out of 100 for the bay area. Thats actually up a few points. San francisco they actually climbed higher into the good category. San jose remains steady compared to last year. They remain in the fair category for their paved roads. Oakland and berkley though are considered at risk. If youre wondering about which city in the bay area has the best paved road its dublin. Daily city, el cirrito brentwood, cupert teeuchldno san ramon and union city. The lowest ranked payment was found up north in ped aluminum ma. As we mentioned they received low scores too. The San Francisco department of elections has already fed vote by mail ballots into the citys new voting machine. The digital images system takes the photograph and will tablet tabulate the results tonight. Once all personal information is removed, voters will be able to see the results themselves. The department will actually post all those ballot images on our website, and then so that means that the voters will actually see the vote that were cast in San Francisco. Voters can still cast ranked choice ballots using a grid system as the city tries to avoid costly runoff systems. San franciscos encumbent mayor london breed is expected to be reelected. However, the race for District Attorney is getting the most attention after George Gaston resigned. The recent polls show the race for District Attorney is wide open. Prop d would put a 3 and a quarter percent tax on single rides and 1. 5 tax on pool rides. That would generate more than 30 million a year.
