Not as warm as it was in 2008 when 93 was the high. These are the highs we expecting today. 07 in San Francisco. 89 in santa rosa. 79 for you in hayward. In san jose, about 85. Pretty comfortable. Youll only see those 90s if you head further inland. Overnight tonight, a lovely night. 59 in San Francisco. You could see those upper 50s to low 650s all across the bay area. Well see some of that fog come into play as well. The big difference is we are going to continue cooling down. While today our inland communities have 90s. Notice by the time we get to saturday rolling down just to those mid 80s. So a second trough, a second push of low pressure coming to help bring those temperatures down. Of course, if you are at the bay, stay relatively mild in those 70s right across the next five days we get some clouds with us and out at the coast is when you are most likely going to see those clouds in the morning. But not a badloaning forecast at all as we head across the next five days. Again, starting to have that little sense of fall in the air. Well talk about back now to Hurricane Dorian and a live look at what is happening in jacksonville, florida. The water is continuing to rip around and reach the coast. This is where we are seeing some very levy winds as well you can clearly see that happening with that palm tree blowing around front and center in this picture. Hurricane dorian has been downgraded from a category five storm a couple of days ago to now a category two that still carries maximum sustained winds of nearly 105 miles an hour. Some people are making the most of a situation, a few braver or some might call them foolish surfers battled the rough waves off the coast of georgia as dorian made its way north. Our reporter people are really preparing for the worst to come in just the coming hours, arent they . Well, we are just get into what should be a rough 24hour period or just the worst that the storm is going to is south let up. Often times we find in the outer bands the winds will increase. Well get some big gusts and it will let up. There has been a lot of rain. The rain has let up. One thing i want to point out if you look at the Savannah River which is behind me right now. We are about two hours past high tide. Normally the tide would be go down right now. This tide has held steady since high tide. That becomes a real concern when we get 12 hours from now. But 10 00 in the morning it is supposed to be high tide again. That will time out with the eye much close tore hand. That means the storm surge will be much close tore land. Those lowlying roads that connect the mainland with the Barrier Island should be under water at that point and that is bringing particular concern for the residents who decide they want to ride out the storm. Once that water comes in and covers up the road, theyre going to be on their own. In addition to that for places like tybee island in georgia, the police force is down to a skeleton crew. They have their orders. Once per hour, day are on lockdown. The responders cant go out because it could add to the victims. Because it could cials say the s be a while. Mike, are officials there concerned that people might have a false sense of security thinking oh, it is only a two whereas with a category five storm which sounds a lot more threatening. Obviously a category five sounds more threatening. What we have seen time and time again is not the wind that harms people. It is the rising water. The amount of water that comes down. You have the saturated ground as well, and the trees become less stable because the ground underneath the trees becomes so soft. The wind increases, trees go down. People like to get in their cars. People like to try to travel during these storms. And mike, i see some poem, some vehicles behind you. Is it essentially just news crews where you are. Have people packed up and headed out of town or are people staying and planning to ride it out . Largely, people are staying inside, but there are a great many people who have elected to ride it out. Now, here in savannah, this is part of are on the mainland. We are not separated from the mainland by one of these causeways that should end up under water. You do have a lot of people out here. We have people that want to walk around. There are very large police presence. All of the Police Officers have been put on 12hour shifts. I talked to some of the people who were part of the narcotics crew. They are out here on foot as one of the cops put it to me looking for knuckleheads. May be causing trouble while most people are off the street. Some people who see. Have you talked to people who said i have been through this before. Were going to be okay. This is my first time and i am really nervous. I have talked to people who have been through this before. They meated it last time. That argument will stand up until the time it doesnt stand up anymore. I have talked with a lot of people who are just vir tired. It seems that these tropical storms and hurricanes are coming with such greater frequency. I talked with one woman who is taking care of an elderly mom. They are going west and she says she might keep on going west. Live in savannah, georgia. Thank you, and stay safe. Lets bring in our meteorologist. A lot of people are still concerned about the hurricane. It is a category two, but that is still dangerous. It is still very dangerous. You are talking winds upwards of 100 miles an hour. This is an entrance to all that water. It pushes inland and that makes it very dangerous. Category two at 105 Miles Per Hour sustained winds. You can see it is moving at about nine Miles Per Hour. Still relatively slow. Certainly picked up from where it has been the last couple of days. It is located off the coast 115 miles northeast of jacksonville, florida. About 180 miles south of that carlson, savannah area. This is the path it is expected to take and it is expected to stay offshore. That doesnt mean it is not going to be casting those bands of wind and rain ashore which is what we are certainly seeing if you are, e starting to move into georgia, too. Will kind of come and go. As he was saying youll have that break and another one will come around along with the wind and the storm surge will continue to be a problem over the next 24 hours for them. This is the track. It is expected to stay offshore. We do have one outlier here that is trying to take it inland still in that North Carolina place, but, you know, probably cape fear is definitely in danger. Well have to velops as we go o 12 hours. Here we are in california cool. It is another Beautiful Day in the bay. Sit absolutely gorgeous. Blue skies out there. We do have some fog currently sitting at 66 in San Francisco. 78 in santa rosa. 88 in walnut croak. If you are down in mountain mountainview about 76 at this hour. We do have some of that coastal fog this morning and certainly a few clouds out there. We have some interesting things at play. We have some monsoonal moisture bringing that rain to nevada. Not really anything this california. We do have a few pops on the radar earlier up above sacramento and the sierra. We also have a tropical system here in the pacific. It is hurricane juliet. Category two not expected to cause any problems at land. Expected to go out to sea. However, it does increase temperatures today in San Francisco. The forecast is 70 degrees. That is spoton normal for this time of year. Not as warm as it was in 2008. The record is 93. 89 in santa rosa. 33. 85 down in san jose. A lot of those 70s and 80s should be very comfortable out there tonight. Very mild. Upper 50s and low 06s. A little fog coming as well. A look at your fiveday forecast shows not only do we continue to cool down as we head into thursday and friday a bit but another push as we go towards the weekend. Some of those clouds from the monsoonal moisture will be helping that along. It looks like we will stay dry between now and the next five days. Kyla, thank you. I hope you were with us this morning when oakland mayor joined us in studio on mornings on 2. I asked her about a recent conversation we had with oakland councilman.
