A busy east bay freeway interchange opened just a few minutes ago. Thats after being shut down for nearly five hours overnight after a deadly crash. Officers say it happened at about 10 30 in pleasanton on the ramp. Investigators say it appears a car ran in to the back of a big rig. So far officers releasing any other information about the person who died. Texas governor said he is ready to take action arch the mass shooting in el paso. The governor said that the state ing five Million Dollars to as well as their families and the community. He plans to fight white by identifying potential threats on the internet. Yesterday the governor described saturdays massacre as a hateful, evil and racist crime. The Dallas Cowboys are donating 50,000 to a fund for the el paso victims and their families. The nfl foundation promised to make a matching grant. They have had Community Outreach programs there for years. In ohio the bengals and nfl foundation announced a 75,000 donation to help those affected by the shooting. Itll go to a fund to help the wounded and the families of those killed. The president and the first lady are back at the white house after flying today ton flying to dayton survivors at the hospital. The white house sent video of them meeting with first responderns and hospital staff but outside there were also protesters. About 200 protesters lined the streets and flew the baby trump balloon. The mayor of dayton said she asked the president to use his power to push for better gun control. We repeated to the president the importance of action around these issues in guns. We met the people of dayton are waiting for action from the washington, dc. Thats after the president claimed there is a very Strong Political appetite in congress for Bipartisan Legislation on background checks. After Dayton Air Force one went to el paso where 22 people were gunned down on saturday. The president and first lady went to the Emergency Operation center. The workers he spoke to seemed pleased to see him. He said there is momentum for change to prevent more violence. The love, the respect and also the lets see if we can get something done and republicans want to do it and democrats want to do it. Now other people in el paso said the president s words of comfort yesterday are at odds with his history of anti immigrant rhetoric. There was a rally with speakers criticizing the president. El paso congresswoman was at the rally refusing to meet with the president. During the visit the president also traded jabs with democratic president ial candidates. He suggested to reporters that the gun men in dayton supported Bernie Sanders and elizabeth warren. Senator sanderns sanders called the president a racist and beto orourke opposed the president s visit and his anti immigrant rhetoric. We live in a country where we have a president who demonizes communities like this one, who villifies immigrants, who says that those from mexico are rapists. Later today he will travel across the United States, mexico border to go to Funeral Services in jaurez for one of the victims of saturdays attacks. The fire was in eastern contra costa. It started just after noon yesterday and burned 60 acres prompting an evacuation. We were overhead as crews worked to contain the fire that destroyed three out buildings. People nearby were worried as they waited to hear whether or not they would be evacuated. Time is now 4 07. The arrest of a suspect accused of stabbing and killing four people and injuring two others in a robbery rampage across two cities. There are as many as nine different crime scenes. A 33yearold from garden grove was arrested at a 711. Police say he had stole from a Security Guard who was among the victims. Police say about 4 00 yesterday afternoon the man robbed at least six businesses and then started stabbing people, apparently at random. Four people were stabbed in garden grove, two of them died. Two more were stabbed in santa anna. We have no motive. We dont know. Its just pure hate this guy did this. I dont know his drug condition, if he was under the influence of drugs or not. We know that he was full of anger. This point the police havent told us the name of the suspect. They are waiting until they complete a police line up. Federal agents are announcing a major crack down on illegal drug sales in San Francisco. The United States attorney is leading the year long effort. He said parts of the area and south of market area have functioned in an open air drug market for too long. He is dedicated he has dedicated a 15 member team bringing in agents from the fbi, dea, secret service and even the United States forest service. Those persons living and working and visiting e of crime. 32 people tied to two different Drug Trafficking operations have been charged. They also saito its the first time they have seen ring leaders renting housing to dealers. San Francisco Police had their own operation in the area yesterday. The department tweeted about the bust sharing photographs of the evidence they recovered. Time is 4 22. 50 years ago tonight in Southern California, Charles Manson sent a group of his young followers to commit the first killings that became as the tate murders. Members of the socalled manson family murdered sharon tate, her unborn baby and four other adults at her home north of beverly hills. The next night manson randomly picked a house near Griffith Park and told his followers to kill the couple that lived there. He tied up the couple and then left. Charles manson died two years ago in prison. Most of his followers who were convicted are either still in prison or died there. A man is in jail accused of shooting and killing another man during an argument in a Shopping Center parking lot. Elk grove Police Arrested the 30yearold yesterday afternoon. Investigators say that he fled after using a rifle to another 30yearol man at 4 00 yesterday morning. The shooting happened at the Shopping Center in livermore. Investigators say both men lived in a homeless camp near the area. We believe at this point this was a fight between the suspect and the victim and that they are they got into an argument. Its a life. Doesnt matter if they are homeless or not. Its kind of scary. You know too many people shooting nowadays. Officials say a large number of Homeless People live along the creek and there have been other incidents of violence but this is the first killing. This is the second homicide in livermore in less than a month. Police are still searching for a 21yearold who is suspected of shooting a 15year old on july 8th outside a taco bell on stanley boulevard. They say that the shooting followed an argument between the two. A 2,500 reward is offered for information on the location of the suspect. Time is 4 24. We are hearing from a family in south san jose whose lives have been devastated by 8 grandmother and on life support. We talked to the family. We have no place to go home. Reporter this is what sandy and barney call home for now. A room at the home wood suites after a tragic fire. Devastated. Devastated. Couldnt believe it. Its a nightmare. Reporter just before 7 30 monday morning barney left to go grocery shopping, gone for 45 minutes. When he returned he saw smoke, the home on fire and his mother was inside. My mom, i knew she was bedridden. This was her worst fear with her ms in a fire. Reporter his mother, the original owner of the home bought in the 60s. Barney, her care taker spoke the night before when he got her ready for bed. I always said, love you mom. I love you barney, thank you. [inaudible] reporter their 11yearold niece sleeping on a couch suffered smoke inhalation and is now on life support at the hospital. Their 22yearold son, wearing just shorts jumped out of a bedroom window and escaped. My heart sunk. I just couldnt believe that could happen to someone that is such an angel on this earth.
