Well if youre driving out on the roads this morning, youre probably going to encounter some problems if youre driving in the morth bay because this is an area been following for the last half hour. And another crash in that same direction near the waldo tunnel. These two crashes are in the clearing stages. If youre driving on southbound 680 you can see a solid red line there because of a crash on southbound 680 north of andrati. 84 sometimes people take down through livermore to get to the south bay. Overall things here look pretty good. No specific problems to tell you about. If youre driving on the san mateo bridge traffic is moving. No specific problem to tell you about. Bay bridge toll plaza it is as we expect it to be at this time in the morning. About a 15 to 20minute delay to get on the span. There is a crash before you approach this area westbound 80 at the toll plaza is also slowing things down. 6 03 lets go back to the desk. The San Mateo Sheriffs Office is investigating a homicide near woodside. Skyline boulevard has been shut down. Christina good morning. Yeah, good morning to you. This is a very active investigation as we speak and very few details are being released at this hour. We do know that a San Mateo County sheriffs deputy was responding to this area overnight. It was just after 11 00 when he came upon a body on the roadway here on skyline. I just want to mention and give everyone an idea of exactly where were standing. This is an area just east of the open space preserve. Now shut down just south of skags point north of reeds roost road. We do know theyre actively investigating this. They say the victim is a man. No word on his age or where he may be from and there is an active search this hour. There has been an alert that has been put out to the residents of San Mateo County letting them know about this portion of the san mateo skyline. There has been road closures here. But at this point theres no estimate on when it will reopen and theyre asking anyone with information to give them a call. If you saw anything overnight or anyone suspicious overnight they want you to give them a call. Ktvu fox 2 you. Were also following a developing story after a person was killed in a freeway shooting. Chp with the details. Good morning. Yeah chp still searching for that shooter and they hope anybody who saw anything or has information will come forward with that information. This all happened last night around 10 00. Lanes on northbound 680 were closed for four hours while investigators collected evidence. When officers arrived, they found a car in the center median. The vehicles occupied by solo male driver. That individual was unresponsive. Appeared to have several wounds that appear to be gunshot wounds. Fire personnel and paramedics arrived on scene and attempted to revive the male driver. They were unsuccessful in doing so and he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The only information given about the victim is that he appeared to be around 30 years old. A motive is not known. This comes two days after that shooting inside of the calicot tunnel and we have reported on numerous freeway shootings in the bay area over the past few years. Now i asked about that and the chp officer i spoke with said it appears to be an isolated incident. This was the scene near 106th and bancroft in oakland. It does not appear anyone was injured at that location. One person was arrested and theres a search right now going on for a second person. However, at this scene in hayward earlier this morning where police did open fire report a burglary investigation at a business on west winton avenue before becoming an officerinvolved shooting. The police chase began shortly after that before ending at the on the story as that develops. President trump is kicking off his Reelection Campaign today in orlando, florida. We wanted to make sure we got in the building since tens and tens of thousands of people are expected. People started lining up outside the amway center yesterday morning and by last night they were camped out in the pouring rain in order to get one of the 20,000 seats inside. New this morning two people are recovering. The blast happened just after 8 00 last night not far from the pioneer elementary school. One man has serious burns and is being treated this morning. Happening today, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency will vote on moving forward with the Folsom Howard street scape project. Its designed to make it safer and easier to walk, bike, take transit, and shop in the soun on that project is expected to begin in the year 2021. Tri delta transit is rolling out what it describes as a new on demand shuttle service. It will operate in the pittsburgh bay point station. Theyre calling it tri my ride. It uses a smartphone app. The shuttles will cost 2 a ride. Starting today, bart is launching a program that lets riders pay for their parking stations before they roll it out to the others later in the year. Spots through the transit the agency also plans to extend agencys app. Car poolers will be able to pay the the future. And then we move over, you can see southbound 680 there was an earlier crash here in the clearing stages but the backup extends all the way up to the 580, 680 interchange. We also want to show you this at westbound 80. This commute had been pretty good overall for most of the morning and this just popped up in the last half hour or so. So be aware of that. A concord man arrested and charged with threatening a mass shooting in a synagogue is free on bail this morning. Accused of threatening to carry out a mass shooting at a synagogue and target the responding police officers. Hes suspected of posting comments in an online chat room. Thats where police confiscated a semiautomatic rifle with high capacity magazines, nazi memorabilia and literature. He was making references that he was going to commit an act similar to that which happened in san diegos synagogue shooting. Now he faces multiple felony charges. He was bailed out of jail on saturday. Police in Mountain View arrested a man accused of exposing himself who was out for a run on the stevens trail. Arrested for indecent exposure. Mountain view police want to know if there have been other incidents and asking anyone that might have information that recognize this man to give them a call. At least 12 people are dead, 135 others are hurt after an earthquake hit southwestern china. Rescue teams are still searching for survivors and surveying the damage. It hit the area yesterday. More than 4400 people have been evacuated after 73 houses collapse. The epicenter was about 10 miles below the surface and there have been several aftershocks reaching as high as 5. 2.
