Man sexually assaulted and robbed an employee before he took off on foot. This was released before the crime took place. Here is details of the crime and reaction from the neighbors. The suspect admitted to being high and drunk when he slammed into the patrol car. Reporter his name is mohammed ali and he is from hayward and facing a 2nd degree murder charge. He agreed that he was driving and smoking marijuana before the crash and he had no idea what he had. Crushed like a tin can with two troopers inside and investigators say that he was drunk, high, and speeding when he slammed his red cadillac into the back of the parked cruiser along interstate 880 in hayward. The teenagers mother said that the family last saw her sunday night for a new years eve get together they knew something was wrong when she didnt show up for work. On tuesday afternoon, they learned from the Coroners Office that the 18yearold had been struck and killed by a hit and run driver early new years day. Instead of celebrating the new year relatives and friends gathered at the home to come to terms with their sudden loss, they were stunned that the driver would leave the scene after hitting her. Reporter shortly after 5 am monday family and friends were returning home and she was two blocks from her home when police say that a dark color sedan speeding southbound going down sunnyside street struck her as she was going through the crosswalk and she was pronounced dead at the hospital. This neighbor said that he saw the 18yearolds shoes laying on the street soon after the collision and there have been several close calls that he had crossing this intersection himself.
