To lose a pillar of the Community Agent very, very difficult. Reporter he was killed in a hitandrun crash that happened around 2 30 in the morning. Police say that he was crossing gerald avenue when a speeding car slammed into him and the driver simply took off. The victims colleagues at the Produce Market were stunned and saddened. I mean, if you wanted help, he was always willing to help people, just a great human people. Thats a tragedy what happened. He was a hard working grocer, a huizenga and father of two adult sons who kepted run the market. Shall is shaken up. There are is a reminder of how quickly life changes. The guy was the nicest guy in the world. Police are investigating what happened. The car may have been speed away from the scene of a shooting that happened around the time same this morning. And Police Believe that car is a silver fourdoor sedan with front end damage or a smashed windshield as well. If anybody knows anything, you are asked to call the police department. In the citys mark merced neighborhood, two people were pulled from an apartment this morning, both taken to the hospital. Christien kafton has more on the story of this fire at the apartment. Reporter take a look. You can see that is the unit that was actually involved in this fire up on the 2nd floor. To give you a sense of where we are, we are close to the intersection of font and cabin, close to the university of San Francisco. We have video of what fire looked like. Firefighters say when they arrived on scene, flames were pouring out of the window of that unit. They believe that fire was contained to the one unit. They are investigating right now, trying to figure out exactly how this fire started. They say that there were two victims to this fire who were transported to the hospital. We were able to pull two people out that required medical care. One was in Critical Care and the other was in fair condition. Both are adult. Reporter people were able to selfevacuate except for the two victims you heard about earlier. Coming back to the picture, again, you can see that firefighters and fire crews are still focusing on that unit on the isntth floor, trying to determine exactly how this fire started. In San Francisco, christien kafton, ktvu fox 2. Happening now, the u. S. Coast guard is investigating an accident at the port of oakland after 11 shipping containers weighing a few tons apiece fell into the water, off the cargo ship. This happened not far from the bay bridge toll plaza. Ktvus lee martinez joins us. We talked to Parker Diving Service as few minutes ago. They say their team has already been in the water. They are still out there, although you dont see them at the moment. They tell us that divers did locate one crate off the dock and the port of oakland located two more crates. Now we are waiting on a crane that is coming out this afternoon to start removing them. How they ended up in the water is still kind of a mystery. Yesterday afternoon, the coast guard was called out here for a report that 11 containers had fallen off the cargo ship called the mal maxim. The ship was able to secure six or sean of the containers, but several others fell. Its unclear what caused them to fall from the vessel. That is under investigation. The coast guard, vessel operators and others will look into the cause of this. At this point, we dont know. Reporter now, luckily, the containers were all empty. There were no leaks or contamination into the bay. The coast guard will determine if the company will face any fines or penalties but the port spokesperson says it appears unlikely since the containers were empty. Now, the port says that the water out here in the bay is about 50 feet deep. Now, they do know of two more containers that are that they know for sure are near the dock. They need to locate those containers. So the dive team says, most likely theyll be out here for several days. Lee martinez there at the port of oakland. Thank you. The university of california says it will give uc berkeley at least 300,000 for security for free speech week. A group called berkeley patriots is organizing the event. They have invited speakers like milo yiannopoulos. The security costs could far exsee the 300,000. All events will take place outside at sproule plaza. Now, as anxious residents wait for help, they are assessing the damage and starting the recovery process. In the neighborhood, 25 of the houses are gone. Weve lost everything. It took our house. Puerto ricos electric grid was in bad shape before the storm hit and maria caused extensive new damage. I think 20 years, people were certainly interested in sharing some information, but when it came sometimes, for some people, they would connect all the dots but the very last once i say name names who you think killed tupac. Thats what i do. Thats kind of what i do. Is fascinated when ice told me he knew tupac and the conversations they had. I thought, were going to be able to bring something to this conversation. I didnt know tupac but he knew them personally. He was so involved in the world and for me to bring the messages together, that will make for a lot of interesting conversation. You know, there are a lot of accusations thrown at the wrong people and this had clear their name. I want to know what happened to my home boy, what went down and who made mistakes. People dont relive these mistakes. That is tragedy. Now this didnt need to happen now that i know everything that went down, it didnt happen to happen. Tupac shakur was shot and killed.
