East bay muds says alameda owns a system that dates back to the 1930s however the Water District is contracted to supply and maintain that water. According to east city mudd this all came after a complaint about the taste and odor of the water. Theyre warning people to not use tap water for brushing your teeth, washing dishes or drinking or cooking. How long has it been bad. With my kids Drinking Water and theyve been using water, cooking in water. Its quite essential. Whats the long term effect and have they been knowing about this for a week or was it just today. I can say a sentence but if i say a lot of sentences i start sounding like little singer on game of thrones. I get very hoarse. But our conversation at her home in San Francisco was filled with humor, whit and candor. Life for rondstand is not what she thought it would be. Parkinsons changed that. I missed traveling when i was working but theres all those places that i was thinking, when im not working i will come here. It would have been nice. Its a little shocking to find out that that probably is not going to happen. Reporter for 45 years rondstands voice captivated audiences around the world. With hits like heart like a wheel and youre no good. She won multiple grammys for her versatility over so many generas. And she graced the covers of magazines including this edition of newsweek which featured both her and jerry brown. The two dated in the 70s although she wrote in her memoire neither of us ever suffered under the delusion that we wanted to share each others lives. I found his life too restrictive and he would have found mine too chaotic. In the things i liked to do that i would take on the road like knitting and sewing but i cant do any of those things anymore. Reporter parkinsons an incurable disease that steals so much, also stole rondstands ability to sing. What you cant do with parkinsons is repetitive motion. So thousands of vibrations a second is a lot of repetitive motion. It just wont do it. Like i used to sing harmonies over the phone. Were good friends we still have a lot in common. But that musical conversation is gone and i miss that. How have you filled that void . Books, a lot of good books. Reporter rondstand first went public just after releasing her memoire. I found out that i had parkinsons when i had just released my book. I didnt include it because it wasnt a 100 diagnosis and i didnt want it to be about that. Reporter if you had written the book today would you have included it . Probably yeah. Because its so much of my life now. Reporter parkinsons has taken a toll. After about a year you can tell its a difference. What kind of patient are you . A noncompliant one because i dont like to take medicine. Its not a thing you can cure. Its not a thing you can overcome particularly you just have to learn how to live with it day by day. Look for the most positive thing you can. Makes me glad i was nice to my friends. Because if i had not been i would be screwed. I kept these people. I dont know how ive done it. Theyve put up with me all these years and im just so lucky and it makes a big difference. At the end all you have is family and friends. Its pretty nice to be able to sit in my house and look at the garden i dont mind that. Do you listen to your own music . No it always sounds weird to me. Its frozen. And its mutable. Its never the same any one time. When i hear it i think, when i recorded it why would they make that choice. Reporter she always fills her home with music even though its not her own. I like the girl that sings in carolina chocolate drops she can sing blues and the opera. I like Classical Music and opera a lot. If i had to pick something that if i had to go to a Desert Island i would take Classical Music. Although she has difficulty going to a concert or movie, when she gets an opportunity to raise money for charity, she will do it. She is going to make an appearance for a foundation that has raised money for Parkinsons Research and care. I always think give your gift. My gifts are becoming extremely limited. But when theres a chance to make people understand what its like to have parkinsons i will do it. Reporter her work is not done. She has a new story to tell. Youre trying to tell a story when youre singing. In this story whats your story. Not through song but through experience and appearances and like putting yourself out there when you can. You have a little bit of wind out there. A little more westerly indicating that were not as quite under the influence as that low pressure as strongly as we were yesterday.
