KSOE Launches Project to Develop International Standard for Hydrogen Vessels

Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE), an intermediary holding company of Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, has joined hands with the Korean Register of Shipping to develop the first international standard for hydrogen ships.
KSOE signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on making safety design regulations on hydrogen ships with the Korean Register of Shipping on March 4. The two companies plan to jointly develop the world’s first hydrogen ship standard and submit it to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) by 2022.
