Our Correspondent Diphu, June 22 (EMN): Karbi Students’ Association (KSA – Thangsing Timung) faction held a bike rally from Diphu town to Howraghat town, covering a distance of around 90 km on Wednesday. The rally was carried out against various issues including the immediate implementation of Article 244 (A) an autonomous state of the Indian constitution, cancellation of trading license to non-tribals, deletion of all non-tribals names from the voter list of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), no land patta to non-tribals and stopping nepotism culture in job appointments under KAAC. Speaking to media persons, President Thangsing Timung questioned the promises made by a few BJP leaders to give land pattas and trading licences to non-tribals in the Sixth Schedule. Timung further questioned why the central, state and KAAC governments were not respecting the sentiments of the Sixth Schedule. Further, Timung appealed to all the tribal youths to come forward and fight for their rights.
