But as we move into the evening tonight and into tomorrow, well start to see that offshore wind from the north and east kicking up across the bay area and will regularly see gusts as high as 30, even 40 to 50 mile per hour peak gusts, especially on mountain tops. So this is something that is going to peak tomorrow but will kick into gear more and more later on today as well. Aside from that, temperatures are warming under the sun, shining conditions that were anticipating temperatures right now are in the 40s with sonoma at 42 degrees. So this week, the Santa Clara CountySheriffs Office arrested 2 people suspected of stealing copper investigators are working now to track down dozens of others, copper thefts at the Transit System so far this year over Sarah Stinson has that story. The 2 people arrested are accused of stealing 10,000 worth of copper from the tracks of eta. On monday, a train operator actually witnessed the theft. Thieves are targeting the Valley Transportation Authority in the south bay, stealing copper from the tracks. The Santa Clara CountySheriffs Office says it is investigating 2 dozen copper theft cases causing a total of half a Million Dollars in damage to Railway Property that some people risking their lives and they during the public for about 10, a pound, the latest copper theft happening in broad daylight monday, a train operator witness this happening near the tracks on the vta cropley light rail station in san jose. A person was seen with a white pickup truck less than an hour later, deputies were told the same truck was spotted at vta station in sunnyvale. You were able to detain the suspects. And which resulted in fighting actually that copper wire was stolen from that vta station. 60 yearold daniel mail and 55 yearold frank pacheco. Bulls got arrested for suspicion of having stolen property, conspiracy and possession of meth. Hi, good morning, everyone. Senator scott wiener says the passing of this bill will make Law Enforcement across california used more accurate drug testing. Adding that right now every year color, metra, drug testing causes about 4100 people statewide to be wrongfully arrested and charged. Now, if senate bill 9, 1, 2, in the state Senate PublicSafety Committee just passed with a vote from 4 to one requiring Law Enforcement to use more accurate and objective drug testing, essentially stopping agencies from making arrests or filing charges on the basis of these color based drug test, which are also known as colorimetric drug testing. Right now, some areas still use these tests to assess whether a substance contained illegal drugs. But Officials Say many agencies across the state have already abandoned these test due to them being inaccurate. The bill does not ban the use of these tests completely, but it does prevent officers and prosecutors from using them as the basis of arresting or charging decisions, at least without verifying the results with a more accurate tests. Now, the senator says a recent study done by the university of pennsylvania showed that nationwide colorimetric drug testing leads to about 30,000 wrongful convictions every single year. And here in california, that number is around. 4100 now. The bill did pass through the state Senate PublicSafety Committee and will now head towards the state Senate Appropriations committee.
