In total, theres going to be 6 security ambassadors that will wear bright colors and be assigned to different areas with one that will make rounds on a bike. Theyre being paid an organized by parents and say enough is enough when it comes to the areas crime rate. And the goal is to put pressure on the universitys administration to get a Similar Program put in place. The safety ambassadors will not be armed, but they do have california guard cards and have undergone background checks. They will not carry pepper spray. They wont have batons, handcuffs or any other type of defense equipment because their purpose is simply to be a physical deterrents as roam, the area and also escort students by request from one place to another. So the Pilot Program will be for the next 2 weeks ending on saturday march 23rd. As of right now, parents have a goal of raising 300,000 for the safe.
