Hey, if you feel the need for speed, San Francisco is the place to be this weekend. Fleet week is in full swing. And oh, by the way, says a heatwave. Yeah, it is a scorcher out there. If youre heading out to the marina green or crissy field, aquatic park anywhere really . You want to where a lot sunscreen . Yeah. A lot of water. Its hot. Saw a lot of people outside today. Some with hats on which is always good. But sunscreen definitely the best thing for you. Temps are in the 80s and 90s up and down the coast and all across the bay area. We dont have to tell you. Its hot. Im sure you felt it. If you stepped outside a kron fours chief meteorologist lawrence karnow. Hes been tracking this heat wave. Its just gotten increasingly more warm over the last few days, lawrence . Yeah, boy, hot weather all around that for sure. As High Pressure sits over head. Kinda. Interesting, though. We did see a change. Along the coastline today, thats where all of a sudden a sea breeze kicked him have been able to say that for a couple of days. But yeah, its toasty out there right now. Looking out toward the Golden Gate Bridge was a beautiful day. The bridge right now you can see clear skies out there right now. No fog to speak of out of the golden gate. But i think that may change overnight tonight and tomorrow morning. In fact, we are going to likely see a little more of a sea breeze. A little fog going into the forecast as we head in toward the weekend to specially i think on sunday up the door, the right now, boy, these temperatures are running very hot spots all around. In fact, a lot of those areas where usually dont expect to see those temperatures that warmer running in the 80s and the 90s, even inside the bay. And it looks like that will be the right on in to at least the first part of the weekend. And then things are going to begin to change as were going to start to see a cool down with more low clouds and fog moving in with that fog moving in. That will begin to change the temperatures all around. So i think you got to be prepared for that. If youre headed toward fleet week and you want to get out there and enjoy right now, looks to me like a saturday is the best viewing day as we get into sunday. I think well see a little more fog moving. In fact, we could see a little fog moving in by the afternoon saturday. Temperatures, though, out the door right now. How about 87 degrees at the pier in San Francisco . 75 in the Richmond District work your way down the bay. The temperatures, the 70s and 80s, even 90s inside the bay. So these are very, very toasty numbers around much of the bay area. Heat advisory still in effect out there will continue has been extended until tomorrow, too. Well have more on that cool down coming up in a few minutes. Most of the viewing will take place at marina green. Theres already a lot of people and vendors set up out there for folks who are ready to watch the blue angels this weekend. Theres more than 100 different vendors and simulations, including this fighter jet on the ground. A lot of fun, right . But its when you look to the sky. But the real excitement starts. Youll hear them before you see them. But once you do, youll know fleet week is on the blue angels. Of course. Flying across the San Francisco skyline demonstrating their speed and talents. Its great to see the military. As much as there is all the services get together here like a big family. Its great there was a concern fleet week would not happen when there was a possibility of a government shutdown. Lieutenant nick lippert with the u. S. And alcatraz and the airshow is centered over that strip of water crissy field to the west in the presidio, the marina green aquatic park in the Fishermans Wharf area are all the best places to watch. The air show marina green will have 0. 10 box seats where people can pay to watch the show. So access in that area will be limited. If youre coming into the city. Keep in mind, traffic is definitely going to be an issue over the next couple of days. So use public transportation, if you can, but its definitely a show you dont want to mess over the next couple days. So sure well have more fleet week throughout the night and the weekend. That might be joining the ranks of those getting these automated license plate readers as kron fours dan kerman reports the city of oakland has secured funding for 300 cameras as they attempt to curb an ever increasing crime problem. Some 300 fixed automatic license plate readers could be coming to the city of oakland before the end of the year. The cameras will be used to do 2 different things. Mainly and one of that is obviously it can record will be able to use that. This evidence, right . If there is a crime thats being recorded, evidence in get handed over to District Attorneys Office so that they can be part of evidence in have a higher accessibility rate regards to charges. Number 2 is that will be able to identify vehicles earlier this week. Mayor sheng thao confirm the city has received just over a Million Dollars from the governor. To place fixed cameras across the city thursday. The Oakland Privacy Advisory Commission signed off on the plan which now goes to the city council. Well, we looking at lots of sunshine around the bay area today and well, those hot temperatures continuing looks like theres a change, though, in the forecast as were going to watch those numbers begin to come down around the bay area. I think tomorrow, another very hot day in many parts of the bay area clear out there right now, the coastline, youve got no fog again to speak of even out toward the beaches today. Still, a National Weather service has extended the heat advisory inside the bay into San Francisco for least one more day through saturday evening to 11 oclock expecting those hot temperatures again in and around those areas inside the bay where usually just dont get that warm at this time of year. But yeah, were going to see some hot weather for fleet week things going to change, though. I think were going introduce a couple of patches of fog as we get in toward tomorrow afternoon, especially along the coastline saturday. Those temperatures up in the mid 80s. I think by sunday, though, highs generally in the 60s. So big change in the weather after that. You see here in the computer model to as we head through the night tonight, skies stay mostly clear. Then couple patches of fog trying to form by tomorrow morning. But stay mostly clear by tomorrow afternoon, 3. 30, blue angels flying out there. A couple patches of fog along the coast. I think still a great day to get out there. And for all the in and around the bay. Then overnight on saturday night into sunday,a theres a bigger change. Weve got more fog. The mayor of san jose is calling for an independent audit over the san jose animal care and services mayor matt mahan says the animals cant speak for themselves and an independent audit would make sure the shelter is up to industry standards. The challenge overall is that our shelter is well beyond its capacity. We have something on the order of 800 animals in the shelter that was built for a little over 500. So the staff is exhausted. The space is overcrowded. Mayor mahan says he wants the audit to show where the shelter can improve so they can provide the best care to animals.
