Thousands of gallons of a hot asphalt mixture spilled from a crash big rig. This happened about 9. 30, this morning and all the westbound lanes are still shut down right now. Now, this all started to unfold this morning around 9. 30, as youre mentioning, that was a 2 car collision and commercial truck went into the ditch and it was carrying this liquid asphalt went all over 7, the other vehicle that was also impacted. The tanker truck left the roadway and overturned and the material that was carrying spilled on the roadway as well as into the dirt embankment to what we know about. We solve this black substance. No one was injured, but 2 people were arrested and police have not explained that their connection to the school just yet kron. 4 shares with us how students responded to the gunfire. A stunned campus confused by the commotion is wasnt really surprised. At first only a slight street classes at skyline. High school in oakland halted made Tuesday Morning when shots were fired. With the sound of gunfire . Students ran to safety seeking refuge in classrooms and closets. He said it first actually thought someone had broken a skateboard that thats what it sounded like. The pop sounded like that. But as jackie makes motion recounts, her son scary experience. She says it was not long after hearing the first popped that the freshman realized someone was opening fire close by my son hid in a custodial closet. He was closest to that door he heard the shots. And so he went in. There is actually because mayor you know, let him into the closet and came and checked various points. You know, during that the situation meets motions says he stayed in the closet for about 2 of the more than 2 and a half hours. The Oakland Police department kept the School Lockdown but says he was able to text or his father, friends and sister that he was ok. The High Pressure is ultimately going start tracking to the north that will bump low pressure out of the way and allow us to heat up a little bit as we head towards the weekend. But only to the extent of inland spots, seeing those upper 80s and low 90s will still have that onshore flow will still be keeping kind of nice, nice and cool out at the coast and around the bay. And if you look at the staff of it right now, it is a sitting at 75 Miles Per Hour sustained winds and here it is kind of in the middle of the atlantic, but it is north of the Leeward Islands where it is heading towards it. And as it heads towards in this very warm water, it is going to be intensifying to a category 4 hurricane. That is an incredibly, you know, strong storms. So even though it stays north of the Leeward Islands at this point, that wind field is certainly going to be affecting them. And this water temperature 85 degrees right now is allowing it to just become more and more powerful. Quickly. Now, if we come over to the pacific, we also have warm water. If you go off the coast of mainland mexico, right . 82 degrees there. And that is where we find our next system. But notice when go to the north here, that water gets cooler and that is going to be the saving grace of this one hurricane now a very strong category 4 hurricane with sustained winds at 130 Miles Per Hour. And you can see as it tracks to the north, it will stay a cat 4 for a while, but eventually start to hit that cooler ocean water. And that is going to hel it slow down some of the time it gets to saturday, expecting a just to be a category one. And i have to tell you, im really happy to see that now. Why do we care about hurricanes that are that far away from us in the pacific . Because sometimes they do said energy our way. It brings humidity. It can also bring lightning possibilities. You know, we do have a few 90s out there, fresno, 91 right now. But los angeles seeing at 75 and weve been below average for a little stretch here, which has been quite nice. 73 degrees right now in palo alto. At 82 in livermore. Mean thats a pleasant day in livermore, right . A nice low 80s. Not bad. 67 in berkeley right now, a 68 downtown San Francisco. Weve got some low 80s and 70s up in the north bay. We also have some decent air quality today. Just want to mention that were Holding Steady with that. It looks like well stay there over the next couple of days. We still have that onshore flow, bringing that cool, moist air in as we get into our evenings. And that is what is keeping us cool and making things a little bit more mild than might normally otherwise be right.
