Now while that limited stay at home order is not in effect in San Francisco just yet but it does look at San Franciscos heading in that direction here are the counties that will be under this curfew alameda contra costa santa clara. Napa solano and sonoma counties. Those counties are in the purple tier and that order will start tomorrow Night Saturday night and will last until december 21st. It is in effect for the counties in the purple tier from 10 00pm until 05 00am every day. Californias top doctor says the order is an attempt to dramatically stopped the rapid spread of coronavirus and also prevent further restrictions. Today drug maker pfizer submitted a request to the fda for emergency authories authorization use for its covid19 vaccine. Both pfizer and moderna say that their vaccines or at least 95 effective without any serious side effects. Well thats one way to do that and that is to stay at home so all of your viewers should be aware that the cdc as well as our state and local Health Officials are all strongly advise that everyone stay home for the upcoming holidays that is the most sure fire way to prevent spreading covid so thats super important. I do want to say though that i know not everyone is going to stay in their homes during the upcoming holidays. So there are ways to keep your travel or your holiday celebrations and gatherings so if you to leave your home and expand your social you really need to do it with testing and thats not just one test thats to test and this is kind of complicated and you need to get busy now if youre going to do this so anyone who is going to travel or expand that bubble needs to have a negative test before they do it tests often take 72 hours to be resulted. So you need to act now you need to set up for that testing now and you need to have a negative test result before travel. Everyone you meet with have this Holiday Gathering with needs to agree to the same protocol you all need to be tested. And on this on the return this you need to quarantine once you get home we did least 3 days and get a second test this isnt the best way to make sure you do not bring covid to a Family Gathering spread it to your loved ones or bring it back home is friend to our local community so please try to stay home if you but i think about it this way so lets say everyone gets tested monday and they have to wait 72 hours but many get near in the clear so much can happen between when you get tested on monday and then when you get in the car driving to see grandma and your stopping a gas stations in your stopping in using restrooms and youre going to the Grocery Store like so much can happen in that time. So but can we really tester way out of this. Well, yes and no we cant this but there are things you can do to make that test is accurate and is meaningful as possible. So before you even get that test the 3 days before youve got to be scrupulous with your behavior means no highrisk exposures hunker down stay indoors get the test in the same thing after you get that test so so youre tested on monday get the results on you have to continue to be really vigilant and not have exposures to other people and then once you know gather youve got youve got to do the gathering safely to testing doesnt get you off the hook so if youre going to gather with people outside of your immediate household is doing outside use keep your distance when its time to even during backups stay spaced and and then you travel and you you you come back home youve got wait that extra 72 hours again in week 4 of the negative test during the actual period of travel and the car is the safest way to go. Airlines buses trains thats all more dangerous simply because youre sharing airspace with other people so exactly no, you know when youre traveling by car and staying in a hotel, the hotel itself is not particularly high risk waiting in line to check an been exposed to other people. Yes that hotel room thats being used and the people before you thats not where your risk you can feel free to wipe down surfaces be vigilant. But its really the shared air space in a bus a train an airplane and you cant control the people around you so the passenger sitting next to you as the mask on appropriately or calls and blow their nose and they take a nap and youre around him for 2 hours in their improperly mass thats a highrisk exposure. Do you have any advice for parents who have college aged kids coming home for the holidays. And how they can. Keep their family safe. Theres the Great Questions so Holiday Travel it applies equally to College Students theyve got to do the same thing so if are going to travel. It i have a negative test before they get on the airplane before they get in the car or how many are there going to travel and then once theyre in they have to be really safe during that period of travel on that flight you know book a flight winds lines that is re requiring testing that will not fill the middle seat thats not having meal service doing everything you can if you travel is going to have.
