Pelosi says that the house needs greater oversight of the white house joe khalil now with more on how this would work and also the political fallout on capitol hill from her announcement. President s fitness for office must be determined by science and facts house Speaker Nancy Pelosi rolled out a plan establishing a commission to determine if a sitting president is healthy enough and mentally capable for the office this is not about President Trump. He will face the judgment of the voters. But pay shows the need for us to create a process for future president s democrat jamie raskin introduced a bill he says the duty to establish such a commission on the president s fitness for office is clear in the 25th Amendment Congress in the house and the senate could direct the commission to conduct a medical exam of the president while pelosi and raskin say the Commission Sets up a process for future presidencies they both directly referenced President Trump medical professionals who say that certain medications can impair judgment i dont now in the age of covid19. Where a lot of government actors have been afflicted by it. President trump also weighed in on the 25th amendment talk this morning going after his opponent joes condition to be a candidate 25th amendment. I think they put it in so they can get camilla in replay exactly white house collar Barbara Perry says the 25th amendment technically calls for the commission to exist under every presidency leases to start the ball rolling to indicate that they are aware whats going on in the white house curry says historically the 25th amendment has been invoked when past president s were physically incapacitated the speaker is probably concern over the incumbent and his health, but also the state of mind. What youre made of, were made for. 7. 14 this saturday morning, good morning everybody thanks so much for joining us this saturday morning now were going to check in with dave spahr daily understand in the forecast we have a spare the air day and we also have drizzles i know its coming on situation most of the bay areas actually green, but theres still issuing in for San Francisco going on for today. Heres a live shot coming in from the golden gate in the cloud cover and the fog all greeted us greeting us this morning. Most the fog now little bit more as a lot. The shot that we get from u c berkeley same deal to the shredded stratus above us and here we can see the imagery of the east bay shoreline temperatures now were in the 50s and 60s mixture, mostly 50s up to the north bay 60 covering San Francisco, 59 san jose. And a quick shot of those winds mostly base of the un on on shore flow pattern which is going to flip for us probably in the course of just a day or so become a bit more off shore as we go forward so this a very quick window. We talked a lot about this about this arrival, one yes here it is appearing on the radar and all that. Heres little shot of some scattered showers throughout the day today, but cloud cover will not be total and all of the same time so well have some peeks of sun thrown in there to this takes us to the day today getting into late tonight and into tomorrow look actually by dawn. How things clear out you should the fog will collect but this goaround even hard to find that marine layer and the fog imagery also kind of supports that as well so going into like a mostly sunny mode. Clear for sunday and a touch warmer looks like to temperature wise now watch these winds here again were on shore going on today this the typical drill those inland areas picking up a little bit more in the afternoon. Then the winds do a little shifting here and kind of favor more offshore and were going to dry out in a big way very very quickly now. This is what it looks like now this kind of good coverage areas, great recovery in terms of this marine layer greeting us in the morning. All thats a plus even into the afternoon, not too bad it drops off a little bit but then recovers nicely by overnight. Boys tomorrow, a different story though tomorrow afternoon boomed out of the 20s and even in some cases, the teens and thats only sunday. This pattern is going to take us into early next week and we very much very well may start to have some red flag warning talk as we get into early next week so heres the drill going on here for today, weve got mostly cloudy. A few stray showers at work, mild temps with 70s even inland tomorrow. We bring back some of those 80s going on well inland and then into next week, well be plowing through the 90s it looks like already by tuesday, mostly sunny warming and also dry as well today. But the cloud cover 67 passing showers here and there 74 open 73 san jose across the wider bay look at that we only have the yellows going on for highs this feels good not going to last however will take a look at that in the long range forecast models for you marty all right dave. Thats right a little flavor of fall just a little morsel case but the main course is going to be some are coming this week next week here or at least getting kind of close to that again good morning everybody live shot coming in from san jose state if you will again kind of the shredded stratus that we have going on thats going to take control just about all over the bay for at least the morning part of the day in the early afternoon after that point fog comes back again, it looks like for tonight and we kind of do the same procedure overnight. But should clear up pretty quickly tomorrow now sfo no delays happening. This is what it looks like there. And our temperatures were in the 60s off to the east bay 50s north bay 59. For san jose. So the players did come together as we talk about that you know this early in the season, its hard to scrounge up enough moisture sometimes for these hold together to give us a nice juicy front with rain and all that kind of business wait little bit later in the season will probably get a better shot of that, but it is delivering it is here. We do have a couple stray showers in our forecast for today qualitatively doesnt like much at all and again looks like more trouble than its worth but moistures moisture will take whatever we can get and it does keep our temperatures down to back to the moisture part of forecast talk about this morning fog. And what happens overnight as you can see right around on it clears up real real quickly now what theyre doing with goes on for this week ahead we have this front kind of in our backyard brees is on by the weekend has done everything kind of repositioned itself and here is kind of the offshore wind event starting to develop it obviously weve got High Pressure thats in place here its back again. Some moisture bubbling up curiously enough from the south there and sometimes that can be a little problematic, well see. So at any rate the thing to take away from this is offshore winds are returning. We dont know what extent its going to be but watching out for potential red flag warning talk here lower 80s the Central Valley looks like today, 76 for sacramento, 67 San Francisco, a cooler temperatures everywhere though that feels good like falls here right now 70s down to socal. And your 4 zone forecast investigating that 67 San Francisco along the coast will do some lower 60s at that bayside some lower 70s in millbrae and burlingame at 72. Down south. Its all the 70s even the mid 70s with palo alto redwood city at 73. Santa clara valley lower 70s here 76 for morgan hill, los gatos at 74. And even around the upper 60s scratching near 70 along the east bay shoreline inland tri valley, mid 70s. Fog situation going on here for us, lets start right here for the Morning Hours lingers a little bit even to as late as 11 oclock up here the north bay kind of shifts around because we have a little bit of a drizzle scattered shower event, boy thats for the overnight. In clouds release or the fog and clouds kind of stalking us and at times, although the subtle poke out a bit. Tomorrow morning though different story we start to clear out the fog relatively quickly, heres the breakdown for us 66 by 11 00am by 2 could see some clouds and fog try to fill that back in again at 72. Good morning, everybody and thank you so much for starting your weekend with us here at kron 00 04am morning news. It is saturday october Marty Gonzalez were going to kick things off by getting a check of the forecast with dave spahr and todays feeling a little bit like fall and it is welcome. Im glad you enjoyed that you have a nice good day for the weekend then we go back to summer next week could pointing everybody. This live shot coming from the Golden Gate Bridge at least we can see the towers nicely but theres that stratus aloft that were going to deal with throughout much of the day bay bridge toll plaza, the same kind of imagery here as well double part a little bit for a couple pokes of sunshine peeking out a little bit. But the clouds are going pretty much ruled the day keeping temperatures weve got 60s off to the east bay 50s up north 60 san jose 59. Our 59 rather for san jose and across most the region for right now were actually a couple degrees ahead of where we were from this time yesterday again clouds and fog which this is what it looks like. Throughout the day today they kind of mix around a little bit by midday most of the bays opening up, although it looks like a problem up here in the north bay and it covers us back up again overnight. Pretty typical but whats interesting is it clears out relatively quickly tomorrow and that will be then permanent looks like as we go whats i jump too. Far ahead so we have to take a look at the forecast an extra bonus 67 San Francisco oakland at 7073 for san jose with a closer inspection of that forecast coming up in a bit marty alright, dave thanks a lot of us get the news this morning, one of the big stories that were tracking for you this saturday is the news of the second president ial debate is now officially canceled after President Trump refused to take part in a virtual debate. Debate organizers made the call to switch to a virtual debate after the president was diagnosed with covid19. So this means the debate in nashville scheduled for october 22nd now looks to be the final meeting between the 2 candidates if it happens at all. Now with this cancellation the Biden Campaign moved quickly to organize a town hall for next thursday. Sources close to the president say that he is working to schedule a competing town hall for that same night nothing has been confirmed though just yet. Happening today President Trump or would turn to the campaign trail just days after being released from the hospital for covid19 the president has not yet given any evidence that he is no longer contagious. The Trump Campaign has organized a rally later today at the white house that event will be held on the south lawn despite the ongoing outbreak at the white house. But the president and says theres nothing for anyone to worry about in phone interview with Rush Limbaugh friday, the president again credited an experimental antibody drug for helping him recover so quickly and he says his administration is sending the drug to hospitals across the country. Youre going to get immediately better like i did. I mean i feel better now than i did 2 weeks ago, its crazy hand. I recovered immediately almost immediately i might not have recovered at all. From go. The judge said to me its biggest story but to the press as they want to report that you know. Well todays white house event is within cdc guidelines since its been 10 days since the president was diagnosed with the virus. But the white house has not released any negative covid test from the president since his diagnosis. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unveiled legislation that would allow congress to intervene under the 25th amendment of the constitution to remove the president from office. Pelosi says that the house needs greater oversight of the white house and joe khalil has more on how this would work and also the political fallout on capitol hill from her announcement. President s fitness for office must be determined by science and facts house Speaker Nancy Pelosi rolled out a plan establishing a commission to determine if a sitting president is healthy enough and mentally capable for the office this is not about President Trump. He will face the judgment of the voters. But pay shows the need for us to create a process for future president s democrat jamie raskin introduced a bill he says the duty to establish such a commission on the president s fitness for office is clear in the 25th Amendment Congress in house and the senate could direct the commission to conduct a medical exam of the president while pelosi and raskin say the Commission Sets up a process for future presidencies they both directly referenced President Trump medical professionals who say that certain medications can impair judgment i dont now in the age of covid19. Where a lot of government actors have been afflicted by it. We need to act White House Press secretary Kayleigh Mcenany called the move a stunt we think that that is absolutely unfounded and its a stunt ahead of an election back in any says despite the president s recent diagnosis, he is feeling well and fit for the duties of the office he was making great decisions going back and forth and different issue so its a ridiculous assertion. President trump also weighed in on the 25th amendment talked this morning going after his opponent joann no condition to be a candidate 25th amendment. Perry says given the ages and medical histories of both President Trump and joe biden their health is irrelevant concern. Well that was joe khalil reporting now keep in mind were just 24 days from the november election in kron 4 is your local election headquarters so be sure to stay with us for all the latest news and results leading up to and on Election Night. And they include a felony charge connected with bringing a gun in or near a polling place reactions to the memo are split among party lines. I think theres more interest theres more emotion theres more passion around this election. And its really important that we make sure that every california that have an opportunity to vote free in fear of intimidation. Its honestly i think a lot of this is being perpetuated by democrats to scare people into you know into voting for their candidates of choice. Good morning welcome back its been nearly 7 months since disneyland in Southern California was forced to close because of the pandemic and theres still no word when it might reopen. Governor newsome recently said that hes not in hurry to reopen theme parks in california. Jennifer mcgraw reports that they happiest place on earth could be facing an economic disaster. Disney in china, japan, france and florida have all open but here in california. The governor says its too soon leaving everyone who wants to go everyone who is employed in limbo. The once happiest place on earth now just a depressing sight with no signs of reopening Disneyland Resort every other theme park across the state continue to be on lockdown with the governors quote, no hurry to reopen. I understand the dialectic the friction, the frustration that many Business Leaders have that they want to move forward. Set to really to to but were were going to be led by a health first framework and were going to be stubborn about it. The governor getting blowback by the theme park here in anaheim, the chief medical officer for disney absolutely rejects the suggestion that reopening the Disneyland Resort is incompatible with the health first approach since march, the company has been working to keep patrons. I think character safe and socially distant and theyre not the only ones fighting the governor i want actually invite governor newsome to come to anaheim. See the Economic Impact himself. Is it does actually right here. The governor also noting that when the new rules are issued they wont just be limited to well known theme parks but will also include smaller amusement parks. Such as the one on santa cruz pier. California overall is looking at losses of almost 80 Million Dollars in travel related spending this year. Disneyland resort alone is facing a 100 Million Dollar budget deficit on top of 28,000 employee layoffs. Oc Public Health hope to have disneyland opened once they move tier but thats not happening anytime soon in anaheim jennifer mcgraw. And heres the breakdown of weve got going on 69 by high noon. Still quite a bit cloud cover and even into the afternoon at 72 and cloudy this rain event very very scattered about him. Good morning welcome bad National News this morning hurricane delta has passed through the coast of louisiana, thousands of people there now feeling the affects early this morning. Reporter jake chapman joins us live from lake charles which has been hit by 2 major storms in just the past 6 weeks, jake, what is looking like there now this morning. Well this morning were getting a mixture of debris from hurricane morning and now hurricane delta can see right here. This is the effects of delta we saw this early this morning, this power lines blown down by the powerful winds of delta you could actually see part of the debris from are the top of that our life of the poll was in the know the road about an hour and a half or so ago, and it cost a lot of traffic issues early this morning, especially with the power out there was no light out here whatsoever but people are still driving the roads they would see that debris at the very last second. Thankfully, no one was a no one hit at all, but people are out here still recovering still processing everything that happened and as you mentioned this is the second hurricane 6 weeks the people like charles have dealt with with delta and more i actually spoke to a Business Owner who had minimal damage this time with hurricane delta. He said more did a lot more just visit had a couple holes in his roof and the significant damage to the outside, but its still functioning now and he says delta was it was surprised in how delta wasnt as damaging as laura and hes very thankful for that and he says the only way that this city is going to move to get is only going to move forward is that they help each other pick up the pieces together and he knows that its going to take time but he says the people like charles in the state of louisiana are resilient of course theres thousands of Power Outages right now were working to learn more if people are still without power this area so stay with us both on air and online but ill send it back to you guys. All right, jack thanks lafayette live report from lake charles as jake chapman reporting for us. Bring it back here to the bay area this morning were dealing with fall like temperatures around the bay, a lot of folks are enjoying that dont get too used to a dry day. Yeah good morning marty good morning Everybody Knows the reporter had a jacket on because hes on the backside of these tropical systems sometimes because time of year they pull down some colder air to get across the plains states. Somewhat typical what theyre going to get basic is going to be some leftover rain in the ohio valley whats let the delta by the way. On our coast. Were still continue to contend with this front thats on our back yard for this morning. Not going to supply a lot quantitatively but at least cosmetic a few little scattered showers are still in her future there you can see that live shot coming in from the Golden Gate Bridge swing and things are out of the shot from timber on this thinks team kind of imagery again again that kind of cloudy skies above us and off to the distance the golden gate temperatures in the 60s off to the east bay were still in the 50s to the north bay, very slow mercury movement here with all this cloud cover hanging around the current wind show us a little bit of an onshore wind thats in place there will be a noticeable shift however that will be happening tomorrow and that ship is going to be offshore and that looks like its going to be more of that in the next week. So thats something weve got to watch as temperatures climb. But we also dry out as well, heres how it looks like on future cast for again keep a lot of cloud cover going on here today for us, theres a couple little patches, some showers to happen. This takes us into the early evening hours and fog actually building real quickly for this afternoon and evening even before sunset starting to reassert itself and actually start to clear out. By sunday morning, it looks like as you can see the marine layer completely being scraped the way as we have a complete change in the weather pattern again. More offshore and that will be warmer and drier air but get a load of this here again were an on shore zone right now that will be the story this afternoon. Then tomorrow, theres the swing you can sip and Solano County and fairfield how this starts to swing to the north for the most part so these will be those offshore winds developing and temperatures will be climbing all next week. Lets look at the moisture levels at the surface quite a bit we have going on right now thats a given not a lot of rain but i mean at least a tie and then for later today, hard even budge is the green stays over all of the bay area you can see for today tonight if floods us again overnight thats typical. Theres the switch. Tomorrow afternoon looks like its getting drier by the hours you can see 30s and 20s. And thats just the beginning of somewhat of an offshore wind event so its going to be little sensitive in touch and go well see how that all comes together mostly cloudy today a few showers mild temps 70s just about everywhere going to see that the 4 zone forecast too. Then for tomorrow. Clearing and becoming dry. I just showed you that shift in the winds will be tomorrow afternoon. But its going to be all next week it looks like and warming as we get some 90s in here as early in spots as tuesday. It looks like forecast today 67 San Francisco open 7073 san jose across the wider region forget the reds today, its the yellows and the greens with 70s and 60s across the board thats for high temperatures we expect for today. Well have that 7 day forecast for you the checkout the 4 zone and the longerrange forecasts to your 40s well marty ok dave thanks so much well sports is next and the niners announcing their starting quarterback for tomorrows match against the jackie, im looking at your mri. All right time for sports this morning, the raiders left oakland last december and theres already an effort to bring another nfl team to the east bay, a group of black investors announced on friday there biddy 92 and a half Million Dollars to buy the citys share of the Oakland Coliseum now the longterm goal here is to bring an nfl team back to oakland and make it the first nfl team, whose majority Ownership Group is africanamerican the founder of that group explains why getting the stadium site is so important to making this happen. I believe that. If we keep moving forward and we get access to the coliseum site. One of the main components of our presentation to the nfl is going to be does the stadium and we have to have a place to build it and so were putting our place holder there so that when we do go to the nfl. We can go to them and say look we have to finance. We have the the location of the stadium. We have everything that we need. Director of football david shaw said the team still has allowed on their practice fields, so they held Training Camp at san mateo high school. They also separate the team into 2 groups that practiced at different times. Shaw says theyre very strict about following coronavirus guidelines but they still have to be prepared the season for the virus to reach stanford. Its also force us to have a lot of but backup plans. So im going into Training Camp. Being ready to say we have to be extremely deep it every single position. Theres nobody thats sitting around saying, im not going to play. Everybody has to be ready to play. Even to the point of all the coaches. To the nba finals the lakers la with a chance to win it all here under 2 minutes to go in the 4th lakers leading by one jimmy butler drives a little turnaround fade away jumper nice touch. Well, heres a live shot that goes on in the golden gate weve been kind of monitoring these stratus clouds. Pretty much have us all covered up this is what it looks like from space and again a couple little spotty scattered showers throughout the day are possible today. Again its going to be enough to really kind of dirty up the car does not really much substance with its acting more as a cooler and also to bring some more of that moisture off towards our way and lets check into that as we get later in the day today to overnight we expect the fog to be here. But by sunday morning she departs pretty quickly and we go to kind mostly sunny mode already 60s cover the east bay 50s up north 59, meanwhile, san jose 61. For San Francisco. This is the comparison sake that we have from 24 hours ago touch, warmer and a good chunk of the real estate as youll notice. Other news this morning a first time mom tested positive for the coronavirus just days before her babys due date and she is now one of hundreds of women who are taking part in a ucsf study on pregnant women with covid19 Rachel Collette is now a mom to a healthy 6 monthold girl but days before a daughter was born rachel got sick with a dry cough, a sore throat and a headache. On 4 morning news team. Its rising. The pain is coming. Good morning welcome back time to talk weather with a dave spahr who is here to tell us more about this fall weather weve been enjoying at least for the last couple days right, yes has been learned lovely, but its not going to stick around for chilly. Good morning. Marty good morning, everybody live shot from timber on as we try to make out in the distance the golden gate as you can see basically the fog has been all pushed up kind of a loft is what were going to be dealing with sun is going to be in short supply today, its good thing keep those temperatures suppressed little bit of moisture here for a stray shower here and there. But thats really about all as a foe, no delays happening here but essentially a mostly cloudy scenario most readings in the 60s we got some 50s up to the north bay but 61 59 for san jose. So we have front the kind of dropped in our backyard here, not a whole lot of rain produced from its a little early in the season, typically we tend to see that later in the season, little bit more rain associated with this frontal systems but at least it does cool us off and that will take behind all of that is going to be the dry offshore winds to watch out for and temperatures will be climbing with that as well now the dance this into this evening. Ok so just shortly after sunset looks like the entire bay area will be kind of filled with this kind of fog we get usually in the Morning Hours. Then it will mix out actually fairly quickly right after dawn as you will see what the couple problem areas in the east bay and peninsula. Now the Wider Perspective obviously this front center backyard. We have a little opportunity for couple stray showers going on today. But next week warming and look at the clouds playing keep away that means High Pressure building little moisture kind of curiously coming creeping in from the South Central alleys around lower 80s today, Central Coast in the 60s 70s down south some more details in your 4 zone forecast 67 San Francisco to lower 60s cover the coast with the pundits. The base the peninsula. Lower 70s and some 60s we keep in the 70s even down south redwood city 7374 for palo Alto Santa Clara valley got a lower to middle 70s, 76 for morgan hill. Were approaching 70 even in the southern end of the east bay shoreline tri valley is checking into middle 70 75 conquered in walnut creek again enjoy the fall whites here 65 berkeley 67 for richmond. Solano county most readings in the upper 60s lower 70s we continue that trend as we head west. So all the way to marine county with middle 70s, valley, 70 forecast here we do we climb excuse me in the 80s quickly and by tuesday, some areas will be poking out some 90s here and that will be some dry winds to walk out for marty all right dave thanks a lot. Well for your a lot of people since the pandemic have been exercising either inside their home or maybe in the backyard with the garage. But as gyms and studios are now reopening a lot of folks are wondering how safe it is to return to their favorite jim. Our Health Expert, karen o joins me this morning with some safety dos and donts and karen you recommend wearing a mask at the gym right. Correct correct. Now you have to kind of remember that when assets creating more resistance. So has your demand for oxygen is greater youre going also have more resistance to air flow. So its its you have to kind be careful as in watch out for some of the symptoms of being light head it may be a little dizzy you. Well, how does a lot of people complained when they wear masks when theyre that the mask sections to their face so they find it very uncomfortable. And for a lot of folks who wear glasses that makes it really tough because the glasses fog up. Exactly yes, its not something people like to do. But it if youre going to be indoors. Its probably the safest thing to do right now. Yeah, the video that were looking at right now everyone in the gym at the time is wearing a mask and thats something that you want to see. Tell us a little bit if you would about how covid19 can spread added jim. Well your expelling air more forcefully so youre going to expel more particles into the air. So you have to you have to consider that especially when youre doing weightlifting when youre really forcefully expelling air as well as when youre on a treadmill youre going to be running of up at a high intensity and sweating and breathing very hard. I was some of the gems are cutting back on the number of people in the gym for that reason and theyre even telling people kind of scale back on their workouts also. And also one thing that can cause a problem is we see on our screen whether or not your gym is using air conditioning or natural cross ventilation whats the issue there. Well if you have air conditioning and its not filtered air youre just recycling contaminated air. Ideally its great to have the natural. Airflow from i are coming from the outside and coming in and that cross ventilating so its a hostage him lenny gyms dont have they have one door in and one door as you know they dont have that opportunity to cross pencil 8. Well a lot of people have exercise induced by night and thats when your nose rennes when you exercise about 74 athletes have complained that right night as so you have those droplets coming from you knows. It is encouraging to see that a lot of gyms are going using the gym parking lot or or some areas outdoors and also making sure that the equipment is is spaced further apart to make it safer. Right and thats excellent except as we come in or coming into the fall the winter that might be problematic. So we have to find a way to make it work inside if thats the case. So lets get back to exercising with a mask we talk about some of the one thing that that i know that ive done i havent gone back to a gym yet. But when im taking a walk or Something Like this is im constantly adjusting and readjusting the mass to try and i feel more comfortable. Right in when youre outside you dont need to wear mask unless you are 6 feet of somebody else because the viral load is very low when youre outside so thats okay. But youre so right about touching the mask, mean we naturally touch your face a lot anyway, and with the mask on if youre working out. Its going to need more testing so sometimes thats just thats as much of a problem too because youre masses contaminated your hands get tammany touch equipment, yeah. Yeah, im reading im reading on your list of dos and donts here that i had a big no no by touching my mask youre if you if you do that i should disinfect my hands yes, yes, and like i said that everybody realizes there even touching their mask, yeah. Yeah, what are some other that that come up with exercising such as maybe the mass gets down because ive perspiring while im working out. Yes, and thats really a problem because when its youre creating even more reason air resistance in so its hard to get good air flow coming in as well as going out a lot of people complain they get a little dizzy or even feel like theyre suffocating also with the wet mask. It gets dirty in the micro organisms can grow so you want make sure that when to use them, you wash them. Also when its contaminated and when you need to change it and put on a dry one so its good idea to bring some extras. Do you recommend wearing gloves at the gym. You can but oftentimes people that do wear gloves, they feel that it gives them a false sense of security so they tend to not wash their hands as much as they should yeah so if they touch their vast they think i got my guns on but then theyre contaminating Everything Else that they might touch. So bottom line here karen hughes of if youre thinking about heading back to the gym or youve done so you want to keep in mind that there are a lot of dos and donts to keep yourself safe. There are and we have more for next week we do okay sounds great because this is a topic. That is a high on the list for a lot of folks are just itching to get back to exercising. Thanks a lot. From go. The judge said to me its the biggest story but to the press as they want to report that you know. Well todays white house event is within cdc guidelines since its been 10 days since the president was diagnosed with the virus. The white house though has not yet released any negative covid test from the president since his diagnosis. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has unveiled legislation that would allow congress to intervene under the 25th amendment of the constitution to remove the president from office. Pelosi says the house needs greater oversight of this white house joe khaleel has more on how this would work. Plus the political fallout on capitol hill. President s fitness for office must be determined by science and facts house Speaker Nancy Pelosi rolled out a plan establishing a commission to determine if a sitting president is healthy enough and mentally capable for the office this is not about President Trump. He will face the judgment of the voters. But pay shows the need for us to create a process for future president s democrat jamie raskin introduced the bill he says the duty to establish such a commission on the president s fitness for office is clear in the 25th Amendment Congress in the house and the senate could direct the commission to conduct a medical exam of the president while pelosi and raskin say the Commission Sets up a process for future presidencies they both directly referenced President Trump medical professionals who say that certain medications can impair judgment i dont now in the age of covid19. Where a lot of government actors have been afflicted by it. We need to act White House Press secretary Kayleigh Mcenany called the move a stunt we think that that is absolutely unfounded and its a stunt ahead of an election back in any says despite the president s recent diagnosis, he is feeling well and fit for the duties of the office he was making great decisions going back and forth on different issues so its a ridiculous the search and President Trump also weighed in on the 25th amendment talk this morning going after his opponent joes condition to be a candidate 25th amendment. I think they put it in so they can get camilla in replay exactly white house collar Barbara Perry says the 25th amendment technically calls for the commission to exist under every presidency he says to start the ball rolling to indicate that they are aware of whats going on in the white house recess historically the 25th amendment has been invoked when past president s were physically incapacitated the speaker is probably concern over the incumbent and his health, but also the state of mind. Marty good morning. Everybody i even though most of the bay area still kind of in the yeah, they have that issued and it looks like with an offshore wind event coming our way its going to be more. Moderate zone is what it looks and warming temperatures we expect for this week ahead live shot coming in the Golden Gate Bridge. Again kind of shredded stratus if you will thats going to be above us much of the day but will be pokes the sun as we see here around half moon bay, look at that some sun trying to come out there a little bit. All the commotion we can see 60s off to the east bay up to the north bay 50s and 60s mixture 62, san jose a lot of green on the board. Hardly any Temperature Movement because of all this cloud cover in a couple little strays of showers to be head into the afternoon hours not a whole lot of kind of dirty up the car, if you will maybe what the roads temporarily. Again the sun will poke out again this afternoon a bit. Whats interesting is tomorrow morning you see the marine layer stressed he become a row did and that will be into the afternoon. So its going to be a different story tomorrow by the afternoon with probably mostly sunny skies settling off across most of the bay still on the cool side warming up as we get into early next week. And a quick aboutface with these winds, you know today theyre going to be on shore with all the cloud cover at all. But then theres going to be that switch to be more offshore coming in from the northeast in the north as youll notice here and this is what well be watching care for this evening, the red flag warnings come our way and then measuring that moisture at the surface. Today mitt tries out a little bit in some of the inland areas, not much floods us back again as you can see by late tonight and into tomorrow thats somewhat typical but boy what a change this is for sunday afternoon. Much drier in the east asia will notice with readings in the 30s and the 20s so again, mostly cloudy for most of bay area today were talking a lot and chance of maybe a few showers here and there. Temperatures will be in the 70s going on in thats a nice treat. Then tomorrow were going to see some 80s start to return and 90s by the time we get to around tuesday and much of next week ahead, 67 San Francisco opened at 7073 for san jose and across the wider geography mostly its greens and yellows say its a nice treat. 70s and 60s for highs today again thats not going to last as we warm up warn your extended forecast a check of the 4 zone forecast as well noel. Will have a safe and effective vaccine available by the end of the year and thats a historically quick timeline for vaccine production and also contradicts statements from President Trump that there could be a vaccine at the end of this month. Doctor fauci says that he is concerned about the Public Perception of a vaccine after so much has been made of the issue politically and hes hoping that it doesnt discourage americans from wanting to get vaccinated. That would be really tragic if there were a vaccine. That was safe and effective it could save lives. And people because of a lack of trust and authority would not want to take the vaccine. That would be an unfortunate situation. Well doctor fauci says that people should be confident that the development of a vaccine will be transparent and driven by science instead of politics. He also said that he would be comfortable taking a vaccine if one is available as soon as january. Weve got some cloud cover for the day. Yeah, looks like its going remain all day well yeah, thanks good morning. And good morning, everybody. And for the folks in the gulf and so forth one more month ago for the season minutes overall though sometimes in get out of season systems to which we cut in 2005. Heres a live. Look at there we see kind of that overcast kind of situation. This is what youre going to see 2 most the day i think were going to get something going on and some sun poking out here and there temporarily before it fills us back up again for late this afternoon this evening combined with that fog all of that moisture we definitely need 60s covering most of the region for right now is the Temperature Check and doing all of this for us as a front that dropped and it did its job it just didnt how much moisture which to negotiate through. Wait till later in the season we will get more out of these things obviously but its still fire season. So the offshore winds from the system weve got to watch post it that will be tomorrow but more importantly into early next week and we have the rising temperatures with all that to back to the fog again as i mentioned earlier late this afternoon and this evening. The fall comes back again will remain all overnight. And early tomorrow, well start to mix out as will be essentially a mostly sunny day. And as we get into much of next week. Its going to be that way getting into the 90s this highpressure anchors in the right location now to keep away game and the High Pressure sits over us and provides little bit of extra warmth, the 90s are back again, although interesting to note some moisture bubbling up here from the south will see what becomes of that 80s. But the Central Valley, 67, San Francisco, 65 moderate 70s cover us for socal. On the home front in the 4 zone forecast 67, San Francisco. The coastal c mo c lower 60s, were looking at 60s for a lot of the peninsula mixed in with some 70s and keep the 70s on tap to the south no 80s least not today, 70 for palo alto 73 for redwood city, not bad at all in the south bay too lower to middle 70s, 76 for morgan hill east bay shoreline to the south approaching 70 mid 70s for tri valley snow at 72 along with dublin, 75 for walnut creek dam built 75, 71 san leandro 67 Richmond Berkeley at 65. Solano county even down to vacaville and fairfield only lower 70s that really tells you cloud cover on shore wind 68 for a 70 going on for santa rose with more 70s heading down south. So we do warm up again lot more sun going on for your sunday, too. Temperatures get really rocking here by the time we get around tuesday and back to the 90s week open the balance the week. Were really watching out for those offshore winds. Well for your a lot of people since the pandemic have been exercising either inside their home or maybe in the backyard with the garage. But as gyms and studios are now reopening a lot of folks are wondering how safe it is to return to their favorite jim. Our Health Expert joins me this morning with some safety dos and donts and karen you recommend wearing a mask at the gym right. Airflow from i are coming from the outside and coming in and that cross ventilating so its a hostage him lenny gyms dont have they have one door in and one door as you know they dont have that opportunity to cross late. Well lot of people have exercise induced by night and thats when your nose rennes when you exercise about 74 of athletes have complained that right night as so you have those droplets coming from you knows. Its going to need more testing so sometimes thats just thats as much of a problem too because your bass is contaminated your hands get tammany touch equipment, yeah. Yeah, im reading im reading on your list of dos and donts here that i had a big no no by touching my mask youre if you if you do that i should disinfect my hands yes, yes, and like i said that everybody realizes there even touching their mask, yeah. Yeah, what are some other that that come up with exercising such as maybe the mask, its damp because ive perspiring while im working out. Yes, and thats really a problem because when its youre creating even more reason air resistance in so its hard to get good air flow coming in as well as going out a lot of people complain they get a little dizzy or even feel like theyre suffocating also with the wet mask. It gets dirty young the microorganisms can grow so you want make sure that when to use them, you wash them. So bottom line here, karen hughes of if youre thinking about heading back to the gym or youve done so you want to keep in mind that there are a lot of dos and donts to keep yourself safe. There are and we have more for next week we do okay sounds great because this is a topic. That is a high on the list for a lot of folks are just itching to get back to exercising. Thanks a lot.
