South bay firefighters continue to battle the crews fire burning in gilroy near crews road and oak spring circle. Evacuation orders remain in effect right now as that fire is still threatening several homes. Thats right justin them about a 6 or 7 miles or so east of downtown gilroy here along highway one 52 you can see the blackened hills are behind me thats a long kenyada road where the fire has been burning for about the past 24 hours or so over my Left Shoulder here this is the ridge where firefighters have been working this afternoon just on the other side there the last thing they want to do is have that fire jumped the ridge if it did that then it would threaten busy highway one 52 right here behind me so far though it looks like thats not going to happen, lets take a closer look. Theres also a fire thats burning in rodeo east of highway 80 between cummings and willow its about 60 acres right now in a lot of smoke and this fire and its burning right across the freeway from the phillips 66 refinery. Contra costa county fire tells us this fire is not threatening any structures at this time. Another fire burning in the east bay is right near fremont in these pictures are coming to us from the fremont Police Department Officials Say that this one is burning off of Patterson Ranch road. And its in the area of the Alameda Creek trail, northeast of coyote hills, regional park. Theyre calling it the patterson fire this fire has burned almost 40 acres and the wind is pushing the smoke from this fire into Fremont Union city and newark if youre in those areas and thats what youre seeing. This is the reason. The smoke is so thick in the area that we have learned at least one business is closing because of the conditions that patel Co Credit Union in fremont its encouraging their customers to visit other locations. Were also going out to west for an where theres a grass fire burning, heres a look now at the smoke from near white gulch this is view that were seeing now is coming to us from a camera on barnum will peak. This fire is within the boundaries of the Point Reyes National seashore lot of fires burning it out there right now its lets get the latest on the weather conditions with our chief meteorologist Lawrence Karnow we know its super dry out there we can see that thats helping the fire spread so quickly but what are the wind conditions like right now thats something firefighters are going to need to know, yeah and the winds are picking up were getting the peak of the winds for the day this that afternoon sea breeze kicking in so lets round up all these fires you can see around the bay area, heres were daily or you seek rocket just further to the east but right in between weve got the fire burning there and of course youve got those oil tankers in and around that area certainly with winds like this 15 and some gusts over 20 Miles Per Hour pushing right to that grass very rapidly in that area. Benicia right there at the 7. 80 in the 6. 80 split youve got that fire burning there at this time and those winds that delta breeze picking up. In some winds blowing to 20 Miles Per Hour gusting even higher than that in the benicia right now further to the south as we look toward Fremont Hayward in union city weve got yet another fire that continues to burn here this more are out near the bay, but all that air is flowing eastward and that means places Like Union City fremont maybe even a parts of hayward southern parts seen some of that smoke begin to filter into these areas if youre a susceptible to some of that smoke you may want to shelter in place closure windows until everything is passed if further to the south we go to gilroy you can see the fire burning there into the east over the mountain tops that is moving into some parkland now but still dry brush very difficult fire conditions there and temperatures up in the 90s today and then to our north weve got the next one near why coach him or him and those winds Even Stronger there you can see a 2627 miles an hour. In that area so very difficult to fight fires in those kind of conditions but all around the bay area today youre seen that strong sea breeze you see those winds kicking up outside these winds are going to stay strong for at least the next 2, maybe 3 hours and then as the sun sets these wind should begin to calm down just the right good to know. Governor Gavin Newsome revealing new information about the states response to covid19 over the july 4th weekend in his daily update the governor announced there are 23 counties currently on his covid19 watch list you can see them listed here on your screen. And it does include 3 counties from the bay area contra costa. Marin and solano Santa Clara County which was originally on the list has now been removed and Contra Costa County which was removed from the list on friday was added back today because of the uptick in cases their counties that are on this watch list are expected to close most indoor businesses, including restaurants to try and keep the virus from spreading any further. Santa clara county never got the approval to allow Outdoor Dining Santa Clara County maintaining they didnt need approval to do it theyre still telling restaurants to continue on as but alcohol Beverage Control officers visited morgan hills lidera grill friday, the restaurant was told Outdoor Dining was not approved by the state because the county of santa clara had not submitted a request for a variance state order says nothing about prohibiting Outdoor Dining. And in if you look at what has transpired in other parts of the state in bay area. A number of counties actually opened up. Outdoor dining on their own without seeking of areas because thats the order is silent on that issue at a News Conference monday. The countys Public Information officer said. As far as the county is concerned no request as necessary as far as the county of santa clara is concerned. We believe that Outdoor Dining is allowed under water. In that that is consistent with the state water. And so we will continue to see that unless and until the state informs us directly that thats not the case lou. Yeah, usually a westerly winds, a good thing because that means its coming from the ocean waters of the humidity is a little bit higher but in this case these winds so strong theyre pushing these fires long right through some of the grassy areas around the bay area. But all around the bay area weve been seeing the winds in fact weve been tracking some of the fires there near a retail and also the crockett weve got this fire that is burning in and around some takers, oil tankers in the areas in the mountains in and around this area certainly with winds like this gusting up to 40 Miles Per Hour that is going to push a rapidly through some of those grasses a little tough terrain to fight some of the fires as well right there along the 6 8070 80 split, weve got a fire caused some problems for folks just trying to travel in and around that area on the benicia bridge and certainly some more gusty Winds Continuing right through the delta into the evening hours now for the south more problems were seeing some of the fires here a closer to the bay not threatening a much in the way of homes to avoid that smoke is moving easterly direction that mean just taking in the Fremont Union city also into hayward area. So certainly if you are susceptible to some of that smoke you probably want to stand stay indoors, shut your windows to keep the smoke from affecting you also further to the south of course this one were talking about yesterday that continues to burn this is the crews fire it is east of gilroy the winds not a strong there right now to 8 Miles Per Hour certainly they could pick up these next 2 maybe 3 hours these winds are really going to be at their peak then as the sun begins to come down the winds begin to subside but looks like overnight. We have some of that smoke filter and some of the valleys overnight tonight certainly we could see that happen again some of that smoke settling in there as those winds become more slack overnight tonight and in the north bay in moran. Weve got yet another fire look at these winds dylan beach in and around this fire right now those winds almost gusting to 30 Miles Per Hour.
