In the matter of Krishna Janmbhoomi and Shahi Eidgah dispute at Mathura, the Muslim side submitted 10 written replies before the Allahabad high court. The counsel contended that the suits were barred by the provisions of Waqf Act and Places of Worship Act, 1991. The controversy involves the alleged demolition of a temple at the birthplace of Lord Krishna to build the Shahi Eidgah mosque during the Mughal emperor Aurangazeb-era. The court is hearing 18 consolidated suits filed by the Hindu side.
