We need to go out there and demolish the old bridge and build a new bridge along the u. S. 101 corridor. Reporter the plan is to replace the coverts with a single span bridge. This is typically a busy stretch of 101. It shut down between britain and whipple. If you look on the right side of your screen, youll see traffic slowing down so south of hillsdale. Avoid southbound 101 around here if you can or consider taking Public Transit this weekend. Be patient with us. We know this is inconvenient for the southbound 101 closure. We want to make sure highway systems are safe. Reporter in two weeks the northbound 101 lanes will shut down for a full weekend as well. We have not seen a whole lot. Certainly not up on the Northern Edge of napa valley, at least not that the radar detects. It could have a little bit of an offset. We found them and clearly save their lives. Reporter they have rigorous training throughout the year. The only search and rescue team in the country that trained High Schoolers to become fulltime members. Were looking for outcomes and dedication. Reporter the unit is averaging one mission a week. Some are body recoveries. Others are searches , like for this woman, she is one of the lucky ones. We also have very tragic outcomes. We had people that would not go home. At least are offering a beginning of healing and opportunity for closure for people. Those can be really difficult. Reporter on this night theyre testing a trail kit that makes the team more mobile when rescuing someone. The combination of highly typical training and reallife scenarios has giving High School Students viable life lessons. It has been incredible. It is made me more articulate. Seeing them operate with this poise when someones life is on the line. There are these very stressful situations and it has given me , theyre just observing it all, i think ive internalize that.
