Just hours before he was stabbed at san joses grace baptist church, which welcomed Homeless People inside to escape the cold, nguyen pham encouraged others to take care of the unhoused community. He posted on facebook that its time to give thanks, to give back. Its exactly what he was doing when San Jose Police say a man stabbed two people to death and injured three others, nguyen pham was one of them. No Church Services were happening at the time of the incident. He is a very caring guy, and hes also the guy when you need huntington he will get it done. To make his friend also volunteers at the church and says that nguyen was often seen distributing food and supplies to Homeless People in san jose. Too many, he is a community hero. In 24 hours a gofundme page to help with medical costs has raised nearly 30,000. I think right now where he is at is he doesnt need all of this for him and he will try to find ways to make sure it helps the other victims. And it helps other people in need. Nguyen worked in the office of Economic Development and most recently on the census. Today the san jose mayor tweeted that he selflessly volunteered to help our fun house. As for the suspect in custody that police chief will confirm his identity in more details tomorrow. At this time we dont know the motive for the stabbing spree but detectives are interviewing about 30 witnesses. Tonight its being called the largest unemployment scheme in california history. And it involves some of the most infamous criminals currently serving life sentences in state prisons. Investigators say the scam ran from march through august. In all, 35,000 inmates wrongfully applied for unemployment. Names on that list include yosemite killer, and scott peterson. The alleged crimes could total as much as 1 billion. The fraud is honestly staggering. And the types of inmates are shocking, quite frankly. It exists in every prison, it encompasses every type of inmate. It encompasses death row inmates. Back in july an investigator with the san mateo District Attorneys Office discovered the scam after listening to a call recorded in side the jail. He ran directly at the first officer with the knife in his right hand and frying pan in his left hand. The second officer then discharged his firearm and mr. Estrada. San Francisco Police hate estrada again and again with less lethal weapons and once again a gun. Still he refuses to drop the knife. Drop it. Drop it. Officers honor mr. Estrada several more times to drop the knife and stay on the ground. Mr. Estrada did not comply. A Sheriff Department lieutenant on the scene ended up using a taser and then estrada dropped the knife. The bizarre incident started hours earlier at an Apartment Building where police say estrada lit the floor on fire with gas then ran outside with a large knife and frying pan and got in a fight with other men. Police arrive shortly after this video was taken. Estrada is still in the hospital with what the chief described his life threatening injuries.
