So many of us were sort of holding our breath last night, because of the high fire danger in the red flag warnings common sense another night of sort of crossing our fingers and praying. Widespread dangerous fire conditions that we had last night are not going to be as widespread tonight but it is still something we have to keep a close eye on because lets take a look at the big picture perspective. Has been the result of atmosphere getting squeezed between a pacific area of High Pressure and the storm system that brought quite a bit of snow to the rocky mountains. The strong offshore wind will weaken a bit as they drift overhead. The wind get quite a bit weaker. In the shortterm, still concerned about the fire danger and this is the fire danger index which takes all the different factors we look at. We also have protivin minute, joins the fire feels, temperatures, theres a lot of color on this map. Two things to look at, the number indicate the communities in the north and east bay. That is densely populated. Tends to be where the fire starts. Into the east bay as welcome the east bay hills and the diablo range. Bristol talking in general about elevated fire danger indices, even during the overnight hours will temperatures will drop down into the 40s and low 50s. The wind gust will be slightly higher. Close to a nine or 10 in these wretched spots but as we had to the day tomorrow, the numbers will retreat. The wind will be lighter, they will be onshore, and that is were to help us out as we had to the rest of the week. Temperatures another problem, is one of the offshore wind events, that really has brought a lot of heat to the area but extremely dry air. Temperatures were very comfortable today but dont shuffle your feet across any carpet surface, getting nasty shock. Up to 81 degrees in napa, that was the warm spot. 71 degrees in fremont, just a 10 degrees spreading temperatures. Right now, a little bit more different. Almost 80 in santa rosa and napa, 79 degrees and also 79 the oakland airport. Dip gennesy upper 60s. Dry air in place, cools off very efficiently overnight. Temptress to pick up into the 40s. Temperatures because the arable heat up very not what you call hot. Mostly in the low to mid 70s with a few of the warmest spots getting up to around 80 degrees. That will be the case for the santa clara valley. Most upper 70s but a few locations may touch 80 briefly in the afternoon. Better chance of hitting 80 degrees. Into the low 80s around fairfield with that downslope effect warming up your temperatures more and more in the warm spot to be the north bay. That downslope, the air gets compressed, that heated up. Around the bay, temperatures mostly the low to mid 70s. Even upper 60s. The gusty wind, though, should be dying down by tomorrow afternoon. Temperatures dont change much inland for wednesday and thursday but around the bay, we should see steady retreat, as i onshore breeze get a little bit stronger. We see return of the marine layer and some fog by the end of the work week. Halloween looking pretty nice overall but it will be a warmer than normal start to november. Another update on the current fire weather conditions with those gusty winds. Power outages in the bay area just extended in some areas. Pg e about to do a live update just a few moments. What officials will be looking for and the response plan. Life put on pause, again. How well our bay area residents and businesses coping with the new reality. Kiet do explains. Nasa has been on a roll this past month, if you member last week, they actually landed on an asteroid, well today they confirm the presence of water in the unlikeliest of places. Yes, ice has been found in dark moon craters, but what about water in the bright parts of the lunar surface . What temptress can reach 260b0f when the water does boil off and vaporize . Enter sophia, short for stratosphere observatory for infrared astronomy. Basically, a 747 operated by nasa for the highpower telescope that looks out the rear hatch. The jet flies at 45,000, where the air is crystal clear. Normally, they look deep into space, for distant nebulas, galaxies and black holes but nasa ames got the idea to point the telescope at the moon. Specifically, right here. The socalled client is greater. Their findings are published today in the journal nature astronomy titled macular water detected on sunlit moon by sophia. They describe the moment the team knew they were onto something. Singh the strongest signal at this location, they were very excited and when we heard it we were literally over the moon. We do not expect that this water molecule could survive the harsh conditions. We think that it would escape in the sales environment. The research theorized that tiny micrometeorites smashing into the moon surface created tiny beads of glass that could trap the water molecules inside. Declined with hydroxyl on the moon, and formed water that way. Whatever the case, this latest discovery to the growing list of water on the moon that could support a moon base to one day help a human on mars. At least will make some contribution to history. Very exciting for us, and to continue to inspire the next generation of scientists to push the limits to always be creative and think outside the box. You the Coconut Water was expensive.
