Reporter the deputy chief of operations had 160 firefighters and 60 pieces of equipment on hand for this, but what he really needed was more water, once crews drew pass the capacity of neighborhood hydrants. We started using the High Pressure system, we used our jones street tank and we went up to the other tank and we are flowing water all the way from twin peaks down here. We have 100 million gallons going. Reporter in the path of the fire was the Sheriffs Department Field Operations building, their ammunitions storage was pulled out as a precaution, but the flames were stopped before the fire could burn the entire length of the block. The test uses a method to detect and measure certain proteins, associated with the degenerative brain disorder. It is very important, it is not a treatment, not a cure. That is what we really need. We need treatments and cures and ways to prevent alzheimers disease. But, we cant treat a disease unless you can diagnose it. Reporter she is hopeful blood tests like these will help to accelerate research into treatments and cures. This is a game changer.
