And another oneday record for new covid cases in Santa Clara County tonight. 125 cases tops yesterdays record we report that many of the new cases are being traced to construction sites. Reporter with covid cases onthe rise in Santa Clara County, one industry has been highlighted as a hot spot, the construction industry. The construction crews were given the green light to go back to work as pandemic restrictions loosened. Santa clara county Public Health officials now say one thof the countys 89 work placerelated outbreaks came from construction sites. The Construction Projects with cases of covid have paused voluntarily, but Santa Clara County supervisor dave cortez says the county has the power to go further. The attorneys, the Public Health department, you know, could shut down any given site if theres an outbreak or if there is noncome non compliance of rules. Today a vote by a school board, we can have not just policefree schools, but shift our School Security officers into culture keepers on our campuses. The mayors reform would ban rubber bullets, provide for independent investigation of misconduct, expand the authority of the Police Auditor and give the mayor authority over the police chief. The youth are out there every day fighting for something different, not to repackage and repurpose it.
