Last week, week before, there was virtually no traffic encountered when you go out. And in the last, certainly today, there was probably a 50 increase in traffic. So we are seeing better weather. Youre going to see more people craving a little bit of outdoor time. But he does worry people will become complacent. Not perfect. But i think by in large, people are trying to do the right thing. According to a draft document accidentally published by the world health organization, the drug did not improve patients conditions or reduce their viral load. Heres what we expect as we go through the next couple days, evening breeze, its windy right now. Especially around the bay, mostly clear skies throughout the night. Warmer temperatures are on the way tomorrow. That breeze is going to wait until a little bit later in the day to kick in. Even around the bay, temperatures should climb up well in the 70s. A stronger on shore wind returns over the weekend, which means slightly cooler temperatures but inthan spots are still at or above 80 degrees. We have 80 degrees on the map, 80 on the button in concord. 82 santa rosa. San jose mid 70s. Same with oakland and livermore. The city is the cool spot. 63 degrees. It did climb to the upper 60s. Coming up in the 5 30 half hour, well recap the high temperatures, the highest hourly observation i saw from but droppeseveras 69 gr degrees kick in a 24 Miles Per Hour sustained winds at sfo. Otherwise 10 to 20 Miles Per Hour sustained winds trying to push cooler air farther and farther on shore but it just takes a little while. Stronger winds return over the weekend. Maybe a bit more of a cooling effect at that point, temperatures tonight are going to drop off. Were going to see lows dropping in the low to mid 50s. Pleasantly cool. But above average for late april. Were supposed to be in the mid to upper 40s pretty much across the board well be 5 to 7 degrees above that in most locations. High temperatures tomorrow, all over the board. In the city, i think temperatures are going to crack 70 degrees. But light today. Those hour by hour ratings are are going to max out in the upper 60s. But i think well see up to 71 72 before the breeze kicks in. San jose, youre going to touch 80 degrees for that high temperature, probably in the low 80s in between hourly observations. Plenty of sunshine across the board. Concord reaching up in the mid 80s for high temperatures. And well see santa rosa reaching the same territory. Right around 85 degrees. This isnt the warmest day in the sevenday forecast. Its the warm errs day well have before we hit the weekend. The temperatures back off slightly for saturday and sunday but then another warm up next week. Look at that. The warmest spots inland on tuesday will touch 90 degrees. Which means most inland locations will be in the mid to upper 80s. But thats well above average for this time of the year. The bay, were talking low 70s tomorrow. Back to 60s over the weekend and along the coast, back in the low 60s with a fair amount of cloud cover with that marine lay ur hanging out. Facing an unseen enemy at work while they and all their lives are turned upside down at home. Its nice to be able to return the favor and let them know how much we appreciate them and the sacrifices that theyre making for the safety and the safety of their families. And in a twist, the hospital staff themselves came out holding a sign saying thank you for sharing the front lines with us. When it comes to thanks and gratitude, oftentimes, you dont realize you need it until you get it. And think oftentimes, nurses tii and health care providers, doctors, housekeepers, anybody in the hospital, doesnt necessarily get the recognition that we might deserve. A second person living in the San Francisco homeless shelter has tested positive for covid 19. Good evening, i am elizabeth cook. The second case emerged despite the preventative measures. Reporter it has been about three weeks since the previous case was reported at the shelter down the street behind me here. Outbreaks at the homeless shelter are the largest single driver in San Francisco. Nearly 100 from the south outbreak. One positive result but it is caused for serious concern. This is the second case discovered at the Division Circle Navigation Center bonita San Franciscos central freeway. Officials do not think it was related to the one previous case at the shelter which was confirmed on april 1. At that time, the patient was removed. The close contacts were tested and the facility was disinfected. It was one of the first flashpoints in the debate over how to protect the citys shutter population. The solution is to get people into individual hotel rooms so they can stay home like the rest of us and if they are in shelters, they maintain adequate distance. The ditty did that after the first case discovered and reduce the population from 107 down to 60. The 48 people who were removed were considered vulnerable. They were taken to places they could quarantine. Some went to
