They said they have made a decision to shut down the school after four students and their family members have come down with respiratory illnesses. We dont know what that illness is yet, but they are testing them for the coronavirus. Again, no positive information on the coronavirus aspect of this. Meanwhile, all lake shore students and staff are being asked to selfquarantine. That means stay home and away from the public for two weeks while theyre getting tested. Thats all students and staff. Lake Shore Elementary School right next to loel high school which was shut down next week. I talked to one lowell parent who says one school shutting down isnt enough right now. You know, it doesnt make sense to partially close some schools and leave others open. To me, its like if its in a school community, kids are hanging around with each other even if they dont go to school together. They should make a dision to cl her skals in the district, but for how long . Instead they decided to leave them all open except for lake shore elementary which, again, will be closed for two weeks.
