victory tonight. >> sanders edged out pete buttigieg, catapulting himself to the front of the credit democratic primary field. >> bernie sanders had a good night here in new hampshire, the other campaigns did well tonight and they certainly had something to brag about. others almost called it quits. bernie sanders is the first non- president to snag back to back primaries. >> this victory here is the beginning of the end for donald trump. >> pete buttigieg had a strong finish. >> a campaign some said should not be here at all is here to stay. >> amy klobuchar is in third. she wrote was she won them over with her performance. >> because of you, we've taken this campaign to nevada. >> 20% say they prefer a nominee that can be president trump. >> it was a disappointing night for senator elizabeth warren and joe biden, joe biden left new hampshire to attend a role at a rally in south carolina >> defeating donald trump in member. >> the democratic field will be smaller going forward. michael been and andrew young both suspended longshot campaigns. >> elizabeth warren and joe biden say they are looking ahead to the primary contests moving forward. amy klobuchar is spending her team in nevada, south carolina and the other states. >> pete buttigieg is going to be joining at 5:00 and he will be discussing the results from new hampshire and his strategy for the california primary, which takes on new importance this year. a frightening armed robbery in oakland, suspects hold a gun to a man's head in front of his home in broad daylight. joe vasquez spoke to the victims uncle, who is demanding justice. >> it happened right in this driveway, where a man was washing his car when a pair of robbers came out of nowhere. freddie does not want his face on tv for safety reasons. his security camera captured the robbery. >> they told him to be quiet. >> it happened monday at 1:30 in the afternoon. you can seek clearly see the gun. robbers emptied his pockets and ran away. his nephew was unharmed but the robbers got away with the victim's wallet, cell phone, keys and jewelry. it was all worth a total of about $10,000. >> i walk my dog here all the time and i've never seen anything like that. so it is kind of scary. >> neighbors from the diamond district of oakland are aware of the long struggle with crime in the city. still seeing crimes in progress was traumatizing for this family and they want justice. >> we put in cameras and talked to the other neighbors and they will be putting in cameras as well. >> oakland police are investigating. so far, no arrests. bizarre testimony from a man accused of stabbing neil wilson to death, he took the stand in his own defense today. he is also accused of stabbing wilson's sister, who survived the attacks. he claims he hears aileen voices from technology implanted in his ear and at one point he said the wilson sisters were aliens who had kidnapped his grandmother and were threatening to assault her. >> it's very difficult, especially for the girls who have to sit here and hear him not owing up to what he does. >> he says he is not mentally competent for a trial. a psychologist disagrees and has accused him of putting on a show. the court resumes on thursday. a palo alto woman will be spending the night in her own home after two weeks under coronavirus quarantine in southern california. >> medina reports she's worried about the public response now that she is back. >> the government released 200 evacuees after they showed no symptoms of the coronavirus after 14 days, including esther, a palo alto restaurant a cap palo alto resident. after 14 days on a riverside military base. they opened up about why this ordeal may not be over. >> nobodies test results came out positive. >> she is far from the thousands quarantined. >> we got a lot of heat online and e-mails from people telling us not to come home. >> people should be very calm about people coming back. >> those under quarantine are being isolated longer than the incubation. for the coronavirus. >> if anything, people should be especially not concerned about these people coming back because they know that they've been very thorough and have been tested multiple times. >> they threw their masks into the air this morning and received a letter from the government. esther would like others to be comfortable with their return home. >> i might be at home for another week or so. >> esther and her daughter are expected to return home any minute now. she's forever grateful for the us government and how they coronavirus in oakland or san francisco. they are calling on the mayor to do a walking tour of chinatown. >> the deadliest wildfire in california history may have killed dozens more people than initially thought. eighty-five more people were killed when the fire wiped out the town of paradise and a new investigation found at least 15 more people likely died as a result of the disaster. experts say the official statistics do not include people who died from complications due to the fire. the number of additional deaths was based on wrongful death claims. faulty equipment was blamed for starting that fire. >> a stunning shakeup in the case of roger stone. all of the federal prosecutors quit after sensitive after requests were undercut by the justice department and slammed by the 's new tonight, the ultimatum for their landlord. >> and oakland tradition is in the spotlight. i'm in the newsroom with dramatic new video out of southern california, a security camera captures the moment of a violent crash. watch as the suspected proposed police were chasing the car in the moment of impact. >> at least two people are in custody, one person was seen rusting running away from the scene. other suspects were tracked trapped in the wreckage of the crash. the truck driver was also taken to the hospital. >> it was scary, i came from work surrounded by police officers. >> no officers were hurt. that cruiser is still working to clear all of the wreckage. a scary scene in anaheim at a hockey game between the docks and the blues, shortly after finishing his shift, the defenseman collapsed on the bench. he was carried out of the arena on a stretcher although he did appear to be awake and alert. a statement was issued saying he suffered a cardiac episode but has been taken to the hospital. the rest of the game has been postponed. a group says they went on a strike, protested rent increases and living conditions of the apartment complex on 29th avenue. about half of the building occupants have not paid their rent for four months. they want to pressure the landlords into selling the property to a nonprofit oakland community land trust and then they would hope to work out a deal to continue renting or even purchase those homes. >> there is no place for us. >> more than $3 million has been raised. the property owners have rejected the offer. >> tonight we met some oakland students who have embraced an opportunity. andrea takes us to the opening- night.'s new tonight the fox theater was packed with parents, proud teachers, and students got the full hollywood experience as they saw themselves on the big screen. >> my name is gregory payton. >> the oakland unified school district made it a priority to make sure each students voice was heard loud and clear. >> it is amazing that i get to be in this. >> this is the festival they hold every year, kindergartners to high school seniors. each studentshares their story on the big stage. >> figure out what to write and memorize it. >> the we are the dream documentary, they even conducted interviews on the red carpet just like hollywood actors. >> people make fun or put other people down and i just want people to bring each other up. >> ali was born in oakland and attended college at st. mary's. he wishes he had a chance to learn how to use his voice at an early age. >> to have this moment now, it's about having that scene. i'm honored to be a part of it. >> we are the dream debuts one week from today on february 18th. >> a tough day for one trucker in southern california. strong wind toppling not once, but twice. street signs were ripped off of poles, fortunately, nobody got hurt. >> back here at home, it was so warm that we have five bay area cities that would break or tie their records for today. santa rosa was 80 degrees today. napa was 79. san francisco with 74. the record at sfo fell and the record downtown goes all the way back to the gold rush. richmond at 74 broke the record and livermore tied it. sfo and livermore have a little asterisk next to them. let's get to some honorable mentions on here. san jose at 73, you would have had to hit 79 to break the record. you are still coming in about 14 degrees above average. oakland it 75, concord at 77, i want to show you how these numbers are going to change tomorrow. tomorrow is still going to be nice but it is probably not going to be within record territory because all of these numbers come down quite a bit. oakland is going to be about 11 degrees cooler than tomorrow. it's not dropping as much but still these numbers start going down just a little bit tomorrow and by the second half, the later part of the week, we cool all the way back down to average. between now and then, morning low temperatures stay in the upper 40s, daytime high temperatures get back to at least what it would look like closer to the number average. seventys for santa clara, 70 in campbell, through the east bay, the numbers come down from where they were today. sixty-seven in dublin. this is still a very nice day tomorrow. it's going to be plenty of sunshine all day, seven to 10 degrees warmer than average. just not 15 warmer than average. the numbers really start to change by the time we get into the weekend. all the way down into the low 60s. there's a small chance for rain, keep your fingers crossed, we could use it. we just didn't have it in the forecast to put a raindrop in there. >> he helped his team to a victory in the super bowl and now a super bowl champ is giving up tonight -
