The teen boys were killed in a car crash last night. Kpix 5s mark sayre with what School Officials are saying about the victims killed in the horrific crash. Reporter 3 of the victims in the crash attended school here at Dublin High School. Tonight the principal sent out a message about this tragedy and an entire community is grieving. This is what foothill road looks like at night. There are few street lights, the dent is way at the si. Crashed into a tree. I felt the need to be here today. Reporter karen is a campus supervisor at Dublin High School. When they heard that mark and michael, twins, were victims of the crash, she had to come. They were always together, very personallable and kind. A lot of friends, very social. Reporter a third teen Javier Ramirez was also killed. The crash was reported just before 10 00 p. M. On christmas night. The car was approaching castlewood drive when it veered across the oncoming lanes and crashed into a tree. We heard screeching of tires. Reporter this neighbor heard the crash and called 911. The car was pinned against the tree roof first and bent around the side of the tree. Reporter Dublin High School is out for holiday break, so the news of the crash is traveling via social media. And my heart breaks for the families and the students. Reporter at this point, the chp says it does not suspect alcohol was involved in this crash. Reporting in dublin, im mark sayre, kpix 5. Tonight the city of dublin released a statement saying quote, the city sends deepest condolences to the families of students who perished or were injured. We also thank the Emergency Personnel who responded. The County District attorney has charged a man with the early december homicide of a 19yearold, but Oakland Police are saying he may have fled the country. Kpix 5s joe vazquez reports on how oakland officials plan to bring justice to the victims family. Reporter Oakland Police say a man has now been charged with murdering a 19yearold woman earlier this month. But they say he has left the country. Family members of Madison White carol say she was just leaving this corner store on december 10th when a man suddenly parked behind her, blocking her in. I dont understand why someone would do this. Reporter this is madisons mother who asked we not identify her. The man punched her and tried toll rob her. She was speaking with her best friend when it was going on. Reporter madison fought back, and others tried to help her. The fight was broken up and madison tried to video him to have evidence, and thats when the man shot and fatally wounded her. I know she was thinking my mommy will be so mad at me. I just have to make sure i dont get in trouble because he hit me. She should have just come right home. Reporter while Oakland Police are not elaborating on the detail, they released this statement. Quote, this case has been charged by the alameda district attorneys office, but the suspect has fled the country. Well continue our efforts to bring this suspect to justice. The suspect is identified as roberto martinez. Hes charged with murder and multiple gun charges. We want him extradited and here to face can charges. The family is frustrated because the details about the case have not been made public. Were not going to stop fighting until we get justice for madison. Reporter meanwhile kpix 5 as learned Oakland Police are investigating 2 other Crimes Involving the discharges of firearms at this same location. Today while we were working on this story, we saw an argument between 2 groups of young men, but for safety reasons decided not tot shoot video of the confrontation. In oakland, joe vazquez, kpix 5. Its not yet known if the firearm investigation at that same location has any potential connection to madisons murder. A live look now at a cold but calm bay area tonight. And that calm may not last long. Meteorologist darren peck is joining us now with a look at more rain coming this weekend. Were going to talk about that for sunday, but before i get there, i want to get you ready for friday morning. And it starts with the current numbers. Look at the difference between santa rosas 36 and San Franciscos 50. Those are our 2 extremes. So im going to use those as my examples as to how the bay area experiences a night like this very differently depending on where you are. Santa rosa is the coldest spot. The average low for this time of year is 36. By 7 00 a. M. Tomorrow its 31, 5 degrees below average. Bundle up tomorrow. Going to be cold. And for San Francisco, the average low is 44, and you only go down to 44. Those are the 2 extremes. Lets get everybody else on here. Concord youre going to35, san jose 38. Oakland down to 40. That covers the morning lows. The next rain maker is getting here on sunday. See the time stamp up there . This is sunday, dark and early in the morning. Theres the next band of rain. At this point the timing on sundays rain is afternoon. Second half of the day. It doesnt look like a lot, but its still rain coming for the second half of the weekend. Tonight the grapevine in Southern California remains closed due to the heavy snow. One driver was found dead inside a big rig. We went about 2 hours ago back down to get more food and then came back up. Reporter this family finished a christmas vacation with relatives this morning in San Bernardino and were hoping to get back to Northern California. Hopefully theres no storm coming tonight because if not we have to leave, especially because of the kids. Reporter other drivers also sat outside waiting in the cold and dark, not knowing when theyd be able to move on. Yeah, we followed siri over here because we couldnt find anything and then seen the ramp was closed. So well just sit over here. I have my pizza and coffee. Reporter were you expecting to get stuck . Complete grid lock. Now snow also shut down the cajon pass. Roads are back open now. Some drivers reported being stuck for more than 3 hours before help came along. Numerous crashes were also reported along that highway due to the icy road conditions. A heartbreaking story out of lax tonight. Police say a young girl died on a plane leaving the airport for seattle. She may have gone into cardiac arrest after take off. The plane turned around. Medics met them at the gate, but sadly she was pronounced dead on the plane. A 14yearold victim of Human Trafficking is now safe following an undercover operation in oakland. The investigation happened in march along international boulevard corridor. Police identified Joshua Johnson of oakland as the victims pimp. He has history of prior pimping arrests. She gave us the information to identify her exploiter. Its a traumatic event. Right now shes doing well, but shell have to have support for the rest of her life. Johnson pleaded guilty to Human Trafficking charges earlier this month and was sentenced to 8 years in state prison. Tonight President Trump has been active on twitter with disparaging comments about House Speaker nancy pelosi, San Francisco, and californias homeless problem. Betty yu has the details tonight. Reporter while enjoying christmas 20 miles from home, this ring video got the familys attention, and the wife quickly got her husbands attention. Somebody just walked into our house, we have to go. Thats when i dialed 911. Sheriffs deputies got to the home before the family did. Guns drawn, they told frank over the phone they got the intruder. Very relieved they caught the person, but we dont know it was our own son. Yep, thats their son, in handcuffs on christmas day. A surprise visit to his parents home that didnt quite finish the way he planned. He got surprised too. Reporter he certainly did. Pictures inside the house and his old california license quickly settled the matter with the deputies. They gave him the phone and said hey dad, its me. The teens then went to a second mall prompting authorities to put both webers town and sherwood mall on lockdown. Might be hard to believe, but we might be looking at a little more breathing room in the crowded bay area. Population growth has hit a 15 year low, and experts say its all fueled by a bay area exodus. According to new state data, more people are moving out than in with Santa Clara County leading the way in negative migration. To top it off, the bay areas 26,000 new residents are mostly babies. The mercury news reports experts chalk it up to the cost of housing and quality of life issues, and that its start ups with setting up shop elsewhere. Lets check in with darren peck now. Christmas is behind us, so were looking ahead to new years. Heres the forecast. This is specific to the shows going on youll be able to see in and around the bay. This is a good forecast. Its just a few clouds new years eve, relatively warm, and were not looking at any major wind here. Thats sometimes an issue for the fireworks displays. Shouldnt be a problem this year. And no rain in the forecast by tuesday of next week. In fact thats going to be the sunday storm. Ill show you that in a second. First lets talk about tomorrows daytime highs. Going to be cold to start friday, but in the afternoon we go back into the low and mid50s, and it will look prtya sky, a nice break from weather weve been having lately. Were doing that again tomorrow. And you can see the storhad bee theres that beautiful spin that was now down in Southern California, responsible for all that snow that closed down the passes down there. Thats the last storm. Let me show you the next one. In order to find the next one that will bring us the rain on sunday, i have to go all the way over here to the other side of the pacific. We put it into the futurecast, watch that green blob slowly work across the ocean and by the time we get to sunday afternoon, now its poised to bring us some rain. Well look at this a slightly different way because its just a little too early to try and nail this storm down to exact timing and exact rain amounts, but it is close enough that we have a general idea. Second half of the day on sunday, looking at the rainfall totals from noon on sunday until midnight on sunday, not a lot. Thats about a 10th of an inch of rain. Good news with the storm is it looks relatively cold for the sierra, so it will be able to bring reasonably low snow levels to the mountains. Thats always a good sign. We dont want to see the storms. Theres the sevenday. Talked about the sunday chance of rain. Look at next week. Talked about new years eve as well. But lets not leave out the fact there will be a lot of sunshine and daytime highs near 60. Theyll have much more tomorrow morning from 4 30 to 7 00 and the driver covered as well.
