Tens of thousands of people under the mandatory evacuation orders were told to hit the road and get out by 4 pm. I want to lend some perspective to this and why healdsburg was told to evacuate. See the fire up here . The satellite can read the heat and it gives you an idea where it is burning. There is geyserville. If you take a look, the yellow squares show you where the fire has burned and that is why geyserville is looking at this a few days ago. Look at the red squares here, where the fire is burning now. If it is a red square the satellite detected heat in the last six hours. Look at healdsburg. With the direction the wind will comfrom, should pick up 280 mile an hour gusts flames like that could jump miles with embers in front of the fire. Its not only healdsburg but windsor. As we mentioned 13,000 firefighters are fighting the kincaid fire 24 hours a day. There are many Evacuation Centers open tonight. The petaluma fairgrounds are included. The santa rosa fairground is open to horses and livestock. Live at the santa rosa Evacuation Center, how is it looking there . There are many families here. What is going on . Yes, this morning it was quiet but by the afternoon the parking lot started to fill up. The red cross has said of 200 beds inside and as brian mentioned is is for pets and livestock and large animals and this location quickly is filling up. Most of evacuees are headin soto stay with family and friends in the marin and temperatures area. Southbound 101 was packed much of the day. Families that dont have too many resources are staying at one of the three Sonoma County Evacuation Centers. We left everything behind. You can replace these things. Reporter it is mating. Ive never experienced anything like this. Reporter the centers have counselors and doctors for those that forgot to evacuate with prescription drugs. We urge people to evacuate. When your animals. Looking at the rking lot, as i mentioned this was empty and look at it now. There are rvs and vans and trucks. Everybody is pulling in. I got permission from this family to show what they have packed. This family brought Important Documents and clothing and a trophy that was important. Everything they need and want to have with them. It is a difficult situation for the families. One other Important Note to pass along, the two Evacuation Centers in petaluma do not take livestock and large animals, only the santa rosa veterans hall. That is where they can take large animals as well as livestock like horses. Live in santa rosa reporting. Good information. Tonight pg e is shutting down porter , power to nearly 9000 people. Earlier today they prepared stocking up on supplies. Meanwhile the police and Fire Department is ramping up patrol in areas where the power is being shut down. We always have concerns about increased crime. We always worry about the safety of people because there are some that are liens on power. Reliant on power. 60,000 customers will be impacted by the weekend shut off and in Contra Costa County 48,000. This has to do with the timing of the wind that are supposed to come in overnight. With the latest here is darren. First, the view from space because when we get these fires you can see the smoke and it can help us understand if there is more coming. Take a look at the image. One of the main and you will notice is a band of clouds stretching across the bay area. Its harmless. Above the band of clouds moving and you can spot the smoke right there coming off the kincaid fire. That almost matches identically the High Resolution forecast we were showing you last night for where the smoke will likely be going. It would be the second half of the day before we pull it from the north. Air quality, most areas are unhealthy. A red flag morning starts at 8 pm and goes until 11 00 monday. We talked about that a lot. I will have more on the gusts in a moment. I want to show you a different now. I will stress this again. This is what is different about the last two red flag warning. This brings stronger wind to the communities we live in particularly up here in the northbay. The areas shaded here in the yellow. We could see gusts intentionally as high as 50. Plans on the potential for that. When you get 40 to 50 mile an hour gusts that enough to make branches of trees. It becomes a wind issue in the northbay mainly for the east bay. Anywhere that is immediately downslope. Even here through the Alameda County side places like oakland and hayward need to be thinking about these potential gusts as well. Lets play this forward for the northbay. I showed this to you a moment ago. I will bring this to the peak of the gusts near 50 in the communities. Then it stays windy overnight. Just because we hit the peak at sunrise doesnt mean that is the main event. It will go for hours and be a Long Duration event that will start after midnight and not let up until the afternoon tomorrow. The worst of the wind is coming around sunrise. I showed you the towns where we all live. Lets pull out the typography. When you look into the mountains while we are doing the 34 mile an hour gusts in santa rosa it is 80 up here. The fire is burning here. The kincaid fire is owing to get swept by more wind, more intense than the last few days. Here is what it looks like. A similar story here 40 mile an hour gusts potential for hayward staying windy into the afternoon tomorrow. Lets show you the typography of the east bay and you can see the difference. 75 mile an hour gusts. 55 mile an hour gusts over the east bay hills and that is why i keep saying the eastside of the bay should appear for rong gusting winds particularly through the morning and even into the early afternoon. So, a lot of things to cover. These are the daytime highs for tomorrow. You wont notice the temperature much at all, it will be the story of the wind. In the sevenday forecast, you wont notice the temperatures because we are staying average for the next few days. The focus will be the next 36 hours. I will go into this again in more detail coming up through every newscast that we do. I will see you with a few minutes more. , in sports, the raiders get ready for the game against the texas and stanford gets a big boost and a key player gets a boost. About making choices.
