Now you know the search is on for corn pop. Hes been given a lot of help in this case that corn pop, where are you. Welcome to cbs this morning. We begin with this. U. S. Officials are blaming iran on an attack on saudi arabia, but President Trump seems to be lowering expectations of a military response. He told supporters last night not to panic about oil supplies after the unprecedent attack on Saudi Arabia Oil facilities. Earlier he said hes weighing his options one day after he tweeted, his words, locked and loaded. Many of the projectiles were fired from iranian territory. They say at least one missile passed over kuwait, a u. S. Ally. Weijia jiang is at the white house. Weijia, how close is the president to making a decision . Good morning, anthony. President trump is not committing to any time frame, but he announced a team led by secretary of state mike pompeo will head to saudi arabia, and the u. S. Is talking to neighbors in the region as he decides how to respond. Just about 24 whhours ago we we talking about the president s tough military action, but now he is pumping the brakes. Today weve got a lot of oil, weve got a lot of gas. President trump downplayed concerns about oil and gas prices while campaigning in new mexico. You know, a few years ago if we had a problem like you saw two days ago in the middle east, we would have been in a panic, although, not if i were your president. We never panic. Earlier in the day the president stopped short on blaming the attack on twtwo sau arabia oil plants but later blamed it on iran. The secretaries of state and defense have both blamed iran in tweeteds and cbs news has learned u. S. Intelligence officials believe iran is behind the attack. The weapons are iranian, but its unclear where the attacks originated. As far as a response, everything seems to be on the table. On the one hand the president practiced restraint. I dont want war with anybody. On the other, keeping the possibility of keeping military action open, even suggesting a lethal retaliatory strike would be a proportional response. Not lking t new conflict, but sometimes you have to. This is a very significant attack. Former cia actor director Michael Morell said the u. S. May have little choice. Its not only iran thats under pressure here, but they can put pressure back on us. We have to deter them. On capitol hill, House Speaker nancy pelosi has requested a briefing for all house members on the bombings with democrats urging caution on next steps. I dont think we need to be the protector of saudi arabia. United nations inspectors have traveled to saudi arabia already to investigate what the u. S. Works on declassifying information to share. Meanwhile iran continues to deny involvement. Its a tragic reality these types of bombings and explosions happen every day in afghanistan. We were the firstever camera crew allowed in this highsecurity prison. A suicide bomber blew him up here, his spokesman told us that he and es his entourage were hu. And second here in kabul, a con gue congested intersection. They release the ielt of the green beret killed yesterday. She identified as jeremy griffin. The taliban has claimed responsibilities for the explosions. They would go on the attack and since we have been here that is exactly what we have seen, both sides intensifying their fight. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Today state and federal investigators will be looking into the case of a mass propane explosion in maine that killed a firefighter and hurt seven other people. A newly constructed building in farmington was destroyed in the blast. Don dahler shows us the aftermath. Reporter cellphone video taken after the massive blast that ripped apart a building showed devastation First Responders describe as a war zone. I spent a year in iraq, thats about the closest i can explain it. Reporter the building was evacuated around 8 00 a. M. After reported smell of gas. Moments later, the entire building was leveled. It shaked my curtains 4 1 2 miles from farmington. Thats a very powerful explosion. Reporter drone video shows how powerful the blast was. These pictures show how the building looked like before it was turned to rubble. Brandon audette lived behind the building. His house was ruined. Everything is ruined. Everything is what it is. Just thankful to have made it out alive. Lisa marston went behind a building. Everything was coming down. I dont know that we were trained with what we saw this morning. Reporter they paid respects to 68yearold firefighter michael bell, killed in the blast, his brother, also a firefighter, was injured. Well see what we can conclue. Given the circumstances we have now, its just an unknown. A california resident has become the seventh american to die from a vapingrelated illness. Deaths from vaping have been reported in kansas, illinois, minnesota, and oregon. There are two more cases. The cdc numbers show there are at least 380 cases in at least 36 states and the u. S. Virgin islands. The agency activated its Emergency Operation center, giving more resources to experts looking at vapingreportedrelated illnesses and death. This morning were hear from isiss leader. Baghdadi called for his followers to carry out attacks and demand the release of isis prisoners. Holly williams went to a Prison Holding isis fighters in syria. She brings us an exclusive report from the northeast. Holly, what did you see . Reporter good morning. We were the first ever camera crew allowed in this highsecurity prison. President trump recently demanded European Countries take their nationals who joined isis home. What we did not expect to find were prisoners who told us they were american. So you were born in belgium . The prison is like the united nations. Youre from holland. Yes. From the netherlands. Yes. Reporter except everyone here is accused of joining isis. They signed up for paradise. Some are injured from the battlefield. This man told us he left his home in chicago to live under isis in 2015 and hes unrepentant. The choices that i made in somebodys eyes are the wrong choices, so i face jail time. Were they the wrong choices in your eyes . Do you think you made the wrong choices . No. I just wanted to live under islamic law. Reporter there are about 5,000 prisoners inside this jail and the guards say many of them are dangerous. If they escape, there are fears theyll rejoin isis insurgents who continue to carry out attacks. Reporter they organized this to pretend hes sick and then they call in the guards. Then they pull the door off its hinges and charge further down the corridors. Reporter they want to send the prisoners home, but in most cases their own government dont want them back, even when theyre children. We met another prisoner here who identified himself as a 17yearold from new york city. He told us his parents took him to join isis. He didnt want to appear on camera. But like nearly all of the foreigners here, he is desperate to leave. Do you want to go to the u. S. . Of course. Im going to die soon here. Im sick. I do not get any medical attention. If you go back to the u. S. , youre almost certainly facing a prison sentence. I know, i know, i know. Reporter the syrian Militia Group that runs the prison told us along with others if the foreign governments wont take the citizens home, they should at at least help to better secure the prisons here to prevent a mass escape. Anthony. Holly williams with extraordinary reporting. Thanks, holly. President trump is doubling down on his defense of Supreme Court Justice Brett kavanaugh after the latest allegation of sexual misconduct. The president calls it a smear, while democrats say the fbi failed to check out that claim a year ago before kavanaugh was confirmed. Nancy cordes is on capitol hill. Nancy, have we heard from kavanaugh himself about this . Anthony kavanaugh has not responded to this new allegation, although, in the past he has denied the other accusations. President trump on the other hand not staying quiet. Hes taking on a familiar target, the New York Times, for publishing and then adjusting the story. I call for the resignation of everybody at the New York Times involved in the kavanaugh smear. President trump defended the Supreme Court justice he appointed. Over the weekend the New York Times push lived an excerpt from a book written by two of its reporters. In it a classmate at yale said he saw kavanaugh expose himself to a female student at a party in the 1980s. The times later issued a clarification, noting that the female student declined to be interviewed for the book and friends say that she does not recall the incident. We all remember this pattern from last time around. Shoot first, confirm the facts later. Republicans slammed, democrats calling for impeachment. Its barely a thirdhand rumor. Democrats are still questioning the thoroughness of the fbis Background Investigation into kavanaugh. It was a shame. Democrat chris coons said he was aware of the allegations during the investigation and wrote to the fbi. I think its important that we all know why. Massachusetts congresswoman Ayanna Pressley is introducing an impeachment inquiry resolution into kavanaugh in the house today, but its unlikely to go anywhere because the man who would likely lead that inquiry, jerry nadler, said hes already got his hands full with the impeachment inquiry into President Trump. Thank you very much. Saturday night live begins its 45th season under a cloud after firing new cast member shane gillis over controversial comments from his past. It came just days after snl announced a new lineup that announced an Asian American member for the first time. Jericka duncan has details. Have we heard from gillis about this . He understands the decision but ultimately he did not apologize for the video depicting racist and homophobic comments. We should warn you some of his comments might make you uncomfortable. Live from new york, its saturday night reporter shane gillis was supposed to be one of the three new faces joining the 45th season later this month, but within hours of cs announcement last thursday, clips from a podcast he cohosted began to surface featuring homophobic and racist remarks. In one he had a name for chinese and mocked asian accents. It shows a certain attitude he had toward minorities. Reporter matthew belinelli is the hollywood reporters editor. All of those things were there for snl to find that would draw red flags. But how did they miss all this. Reporter Lorne Michaels said we were not aware of his remarks that occurred of over the last few days. Following his firing gillis tweeted i understand it would boo too much of a distraction. I respect the decision they made. The thing to know about snl, they have been criticized in the past for the lack of diversity. They should be extra sensitive to these kinds of concerns when they go about doing their hiring because because they know theyre a tar get and they know theyre under the microscope. Gillis also made a remark regarding yang. He tweeted yesterday gillis reached out and the two will be sitting down together soon. Words matter. You do wonder how nbc missed it. Harvey weinsteins attorney has built a reputation representing men accused of sexual misconduct. Donna ratunno sits down for an interview. In his mind does he know hes done anything wrong. In an exclusive interview, Harvey Weinsteins Attorney Says she is conde. Lty in the charges against him. His trial starts in january. Now, more than 70 women have accused him of wrongdoing since an explosive New York Times investigation two years ago that inspired the me too move management. Weinstein denies all of the allegations. His attorney Donna Ratunno is a former prosecutor, and shes handled dozens of cases defending member accused of sexual misconduct. Ive heard you say youre not a believer or supporter of the me too movement. More of a supporter. I think in many ways there are good things about me too, and ive said this. But what bothers me about me too is it allows the court of Public Opinion to take over the narrative, and when you cant come out and either correct or challenge that narrative, it puts you in a position where youre stripped of your rights. Chicago attorney Donna Ratunno has built a reputation de men accused of Sexual Assault and rape. Her trial with Harvey Weinstein is her most highprofile case to date. What is your strategy in defending him . Its valuing what it is, and determining whether the allegations are things we can refute. In the criminal case there are two charged victims, and in both cases, i feel strongly about the fact that we have evidence that is favorable to us and evidence i think will exonerate him. Were talking about two women, but as you know, donna, the story is much bigger than that. I know youre not naive to that. Clearly weve got 70 women, names you know, ashley judd, salma hayek. These are certainly serious allegations. How you do respond to that, and does that matter to you . Sure, i think it matters. It might matter to me in my analysis of the whole circumstances but if i look at the criminal case, frankly, those allegations dont matter in the context of the criminal case. How does harvey explain those allegations . I dont think its about explaining them. Any time we talk about men and women and sexual circumstances i think we have to look at the fact theres always an area of gray. So theres these blurred lines and i think sometimes one sidewalks away from an event feeling different than the other and how do we reconcile that. Its not uncommon for a woman who has been involved in a traumatic engage management to still be engaged with that man. Thats her choice. But to come forward who knows years later if your memory is exactly the way it was at the time it did. I get frustrated when i hear these types of situations and i hear women say, i didnt have a choice. Well, no. You had a choice and you made a choice. Were focusing on your two criminal cases, but you do seem to minimalize all the other charges and allegations about Harvey Weinstein. Its not minimizing it but for my purpose in this case, its not where i have to but my time and attention. Its really about makg sure those issues dont cloud our ability to pick a fair jury. Reporter in addition to Harvey Weinsteins two accusers, at least three other women are expected to testify as socalled prior bad act witnesses. Their testimony will be used by prosecutors to demonstrate a pattern of behaor. In the bill cosby case, it was involving one woman, but other women who made allegations were allowed to testify. That seemed to make a determination for the jury, for sure in the second case. Is there a concern about that . Sure, theres always a concern. I think the negs of where theres smoke, theres fire is something we have to worry about. This is more than fire, donna. Its an inferno when it comes to Harvey Weinstein. I think when you look at the criminal case, i i dont think its the case. I im not here to say hes not gl of committing sins. Theres a difference between sins and crime. I do not believe hes a rapist. You do not think hes a rapist. Do you ever think youre maybing it harder for women to come forward . No. Id like to think im making it easier. If they feel uncomfortable, the frst thing they should do is report it, go to the police, and i think that sort of weeding out the cases that dont rise to the level of real assaults should help real victims. So, no, i think im helping them actually. Doesnt a man have to take responsibility for his action, too . No question. And the choices he makes . No question. And i think no matter what happens to harvey, hell pay the biggest price. Even so, his life is ruined, topped, destroyed by others. The fact is if we can walk out of the courtroom with a not guilty, he never gets to be Harvey Weinstein ever again. Harvey weinstein denies the accusations and face as sentence of up to life in prison if convicted. Donna rah tau noe has been very involved in the preparation of this case and have not yet decided whether hes going to take the stand. Though Gloria Allred who represents one of the victims is imploring him to do so. She writes this. I challenge Harvey Weinstein to talk the stand and deny under oath the allegations prout by the prosecution against him. Ms. Rah tau noe wants to focus on the sin, not the substance of the crime. I asked her do you have a jury in mind. She said, of course, but i dont want to tip my hand. Articles written about her have described her as a bulldog in the courtroom. I asked her if thats an assessment. She said, i didnt say that. One of my clients did. But she definitely took it as a compliment. It will be. Exactly. On todays cbs this morning podcast we tack to New York Times reporters jodi cantor and meghan tuilly, learn how they got Harvey Weinsteins accusers, as well as members of his inner circle to go on the record in their new book called she said. Gms stock slid more than 4 workers walked off the job. 000 some estimates suggest gm is losing as much as 50 million a day. Dean reynolds is at a Gm Assembly Plant in detroit. Is any progress being made . Good morning. Well a source told us that yesterdays meeting was very tense, so if there is any progress its happening very slowly. And the workers here told us that they will choose the picket line over the Assembly Line for as long as it takes. So far workers here see little reason for optimism as the strike enters its second day. The corporation is making a lot of money right now and wes just are asking for our share. General motors made 8. 1 billion in profit last year. Patricia brown has worked at gm for 34 years. We dont want to do all the work, what do you think about that . They just sit back behind the desk. Union auto workers like her are looking at only 250 a week in strike pay, about 6. 25 an hour. Gm proposed over 7 billion in investments, more than 5400 new jobs and wage increases, but Union Leadership told us only 2 of workers demands have been resolved since negotiations began in july. A major point of contention is health coverage. According to an Automotive News report Union Auto Workers pay just 3 to 4 of their medical costs and gms opening proposal called on them to increase that to 15 . Automakers see rising costs and they want some more contribution from rkers. Cox automotive analyst Michelle Krebs says the divide between gm and the union comes as the industry faces major changes. How many jobs will exist because of electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, automation . Those are issues of real concern. Reporter now gm says its goal, quote, remains to reach an agreement that builds a stronger future for the company and its employees and that includes what they call nationally leading benefits in the health care coverage. But gm is offering few details on that point. Gayle . All right. Dean, thank you very much. A new report reveals a string of alleged misconduct by Antonio Brown. In our eye on money series what an expected Interest Rate cut tomorrow could mean for your finances. Leaders are working to prevent an economic slow down that began they began two days of meetings today. Economists predict they will announce an Interest Rate cut of 25 basis points, about a quarter of a percent. It would be the second cut this year. Cbs News Business analyst Jill Schlesinger is here with how this could affect your bottom line. Jill, clarify something first translate. Clarify the economy is supposed to be doing well, but now were talking about the second cut in a year. How so . Well, you know, if you turn back a year ago, the fed chair was saying that economy is in great shape, its really strong, and now a year later what we know in hindsight is in that the Corporate Tax cut that went into effect in the beginning of 2018 just didnt deliver the promised benefits. We got one good year of growth in 2018, 2. 9 , but now a year later, were back to 2 growth, and part of that has to do with the effect of the tax cut wearing off, but, of course, we have all the trade war issues going on, u. S. china, japan korea, uncertainty over brexit, we have real concerns hanging over this market and right now the fed wants to get ahead of this slowed down from 2. 9 to 2 and hopeful prop up the economy a little longer. A rate cut is good for borrowers but not so good for savers. Its a bummer because savers always write me and say i was the good person and put money away and it does hurt. I would encourage savers to be a little more active in this process because it does look like the fed will keep cutting rates, maybe one, two more times so take this opportunity and shop around and go online and talk to credit unions. There are alternatives. We tend to be lazy when it comes to just taking whatever our bank delivers to us. You see opportunity here is what youre saying . Absolutely. I also see opportunity, by the way, for people who are borrowers. Borrowers, interestingly enough, theyre going to see some benefit. There is one estimate that a quarter percent rate cut could save credit card borrowers 1. 6 billion this year. Okay. Take this opportunity, your rate goes down, well, get going. Try to make an extra payment. Youve got an adjustable rate mortgage, dont just sit there and say yeah, im paying a littit less. Maybe this is an opportunity for you to refinance. Lock in a lower rate. But it feels good to but it feels good. Who loses here. I think if youre a saver, you tend to be a loser unless youre active. I think there could be a little bit of a downside in this if people get spooked that, in fact, oh, my gosh, things are getting worse. And savers always win in the long term, right . I should hope so. For investors, this is a wonderful time to say, okay, wait a second. Maybe the economy is slowing down. The stock market is within 1 of an alltime high. Maybe now is a time to look at your retirement plan. Let me see whats there and reallocate. President trump criticized the feds for not cutting the rate sooner. Is he right . When i talked to economists, really leftleaning and rightleaning, they felt the fed was a little too aggressive last year and they probably should not have done the december increase. Look, the fed can only do so much. We have to be clear that the economys going to move and its bigger than the fed. Thank you, jill. Ahead, Nikki Battiste shows us how some coastal communities are preparing for flooding in a very innovative way, you might say. Coastal cities are doing their best to prevent the Severe Threat of flooding from storms potential rises in the sea level. Nikki battiste toured two cities turning the nature for help. Shes on long island. Nikki, good to see you. Reporter hi, gayle. Good morning. Flooding from storm surges and rainfall can be the most devastating from a storm. To protect cities from flooding they often build seawalls and levies, but now theres a new approach, public parks like this one that are also storm resistant. On the edge of new yorks east river is an urban oasis, Hunters Point south park. There are rows of seasonal plants, waves lapping at the shore, winding paths, and breath taking views. But look closer. We use materials that are rugged and plant material that is salt tolerant. Reporter tom balsley designed this park. He said the landscape while beautiful also shields the community from superstorms. Reporter if the water rises and comes in here, this material soaks it up . Yes. Have half a million gallon of watt every held here, detained until the tide leaves and then it goes back to the river. Reporter flower beds disguise a ditch infiltration system that catches the water and slowly releases it back into the water. You said that you designed these projects to bend so they dont break. Whats that philosophy . Well, thats in a way, thats what resilience is. It can take the storms, take the hit, but you know its going to bounce back. Reporter just over 100 miles south, the community of southbridge in wilmington, delaware, they are not only battling superstorms. Theyre battling every storm. When it rains and the river rises i a above the floodgate, the floodgate cannot open. So the water backs up into the community. Reporter neighborhood activists have lived in this community most of their lives. What do you remember from your childhood . Not sleeping the night it rained. My father would say, all hands on deck because that means everybodys going the basement ready to take buckets to get the flooding or whatever out of the basement. Reporter after decades of pushing for change, they may finally see some relief. This summer the city broke ground on a South Wilmington wetlands park. Well accomplish that by putting a series of new storm water pipes in the roads throughout the south ridge community. Those pipes will divert water. It will move the water through the channels and move into the christina river. Reporter but this hard fought victory only solves flooding for only twothirds of the neighborhood. Do you think if this were a wealthy White Community you would have had changes decades ago . Yes. Marvin will smile at you, but marie will tell you, yes, i do. When did you start thinking about this . Back in the 70s. When super storms were not on our mind or something we were thinking about. How did you have that foresight . I lived here. Reporter City Planners say they hope to fix the remaining flooding in south ridge with a few remaining projects. Theyre looking to protect their communities from longer term concerns like sea rise. Boston wants to build a better coastline, and anthony, houston is already transforming its bayou system into parks that manage flooding like this one. Nikki, thank you. Its a battle weve just begin to fight. The effects are not equally felt. No. I like that theyre spreading the word. I like how she says hes going to smile at you. Im going to tell you the truth. I love it when a reviewer says dazzling. I stood up when i see that. I did too. I did too. Red at the bone means what snit has a special meaning. When i was thinking about that title, i was thinking of the way were all sort of in development, still cooking in a way, and in that particular scene where the title gets unveiled, iris, one of the main characters has just had her heart broken. She feels raw. She feels undone. And in terms of the human condition, we all feel that at some point, red at the bone. We talked earlier about writing against stereotyping. In this were interested in where the man walks away and disappears. Now we have a mother in a bit of a wander. How did you come up with that . A bit of a wander, to say the least. As a mom and a person who has a mom, i have a deep respect for whats at stake. Some days we want to walk away. We dont want to not come back, but when i was developing the character of iris, i asked myself a question, what does it mean to be a mother who has a child very young and at one point she said, i was only 15. I wasnt anything yet. I think to grow up and realize you have different ideas how you want to live your life and making those choices is very hard, but as the author, i had to have empathy for her to show she wasnt a bad person wanting to have her own life. She said, i didnt want to spend the rhett of my life with him. I wanted to have his baby but i didnt want to spend the rest of my life with him. Yes. What i also like is the historical drama. I hadnt heard of it for many years. I heard of it maybe 10, 15 years ago. But the way you incorporated that into the story is really very appreciative to me. Yeah. What made you want to bring it in . First explain what it is. It took place in tull. It was known as the tulsa race massacre. It was a very established black community that was destroyed by white people that they were black professionals. Hairdressers and lawyers and bankers. They had their own banks and barbershops. Thriving community. Residential community that got destroyed and with it went all of this black wealth, and this black middleclass population got completely destroyed. More than destroyed. They were murlded. They were murdered. Their businessing were destroyed. Bombed from the air. Yeah. They had an official commission in oklahoma saying tulsa was likely first city to be bombed from the air, white americans in planes dropped kerosene bombs. True story. How did we not know about it . It was not taught in schools. The best way we learn is being having it taught in history. I had no idea this happened. You go back and forth in time with the characters. Its a different kind of writing style that you use. We dont start at the beginning. Were part of a continuum, so it opens with that afternoon when ad astra was playing. I go back and forth. People dont meet one day and fall in love. Its looking back at their histories . And who they love. Yeah. I wanted to ask about the young peoples literature. Youre the National Ambassador for young childrens literature. What is the message youve been delivering to them . What i say is reading equals hope times changed. I do believe when we read, it gives us hope. Were different when we start a book and when weinish it. That is so true. Reading equals hope times change. They were giving me the wrap. This is what we need. Coming up, the best new restaurants of the world. Were revealing bon appetits top ten list, the best new restaurants in america this year. Number 3, long oven in richmond, virginia, which shares a tasty menu. Number two, knao noodle shop. And number 1, look at this restaurant. Take a look at the owner of the knao noodle shop. Great food and a great story are far more important. Just look at the chef, the owner of khao new shop in dallas. Its all about steak and potato and big portions. Were taking it back to farm to table. Were trying to introduce people to asian food, understanding this is the food we grew up with. Our mom and grandma cooked this type of food for us. My mom was my influential cooker. Shed stay at homes. Id be 4 years old cooking in the kitchen. My mom told me in order to understand about culture is to learn through food. Its making things from scratch. Weve been open for ten months. At first it was a struggle. A lot of customers never have experienced this food. Our goal was to educate customers about our food and culture, and tell them the story about my mom. My mom passed eight years ago. I knew that i had to do something to pass on her legacy and pass on our culture, i know deep inside she would be very proud where were at right now. Bon appetit editor julia kramer is with us as well as adam rapoport. Good morning to you both. I had to stare at the sandwich of your cover all morning its driving me crazy. I want to lick the cover. I want to start, julia, with knao noodle shop, which is the first to be featured in the top ten. Its in a strip mall in dallas. Dallas is a city that doesnt typically get a lot of love from the food world. This year they were named our food city of the year. That was a shock. Because of places like khao that are chefdriven, very unique, you cant find anywhere else. How much eating exactly did you do . And im curious about other cities and other cuisines. How much eating did you do . I was on the road for about four months and had more than 200 meals in 30 cities around the country and had the privilege of choosing the ten i had the best time at. Dallas was a standout. This is the second time julia has done the tour while several months pregnant. She came back and said think of how much money i saved you because i wasnt drinking. Good point. Thats a very good point. Dallas was an unusual choice for a city. What else . We also have restaurants in the top ten that are baltimore, detroit. Not necessarily the cities that people of think as food destinations but more and more you can find Amazing Restaurants in every city in the country. It doesnt need to be new york and l. A. Its not only dinner you are talking about, but several of the restaurants are open all day long, breakfast, lunch and dinner. How does that change how you evaluate it . I think the notation of a cafe all day maybe started in australia and now its that sort of thing that you want to come at 3 00 in the afternoon with your laptop, do coworking things, do your food, get breakfast, lunch and dinner in terms of a restaurant. Its good. They can do alcohol at night but day business as well. Dare you call it a trend. Number four on the list is ochre bakery in detroit. What makes that so special . That was a bakery i never wanted to leave. In fact, i went back there two times in one day. I think it just represents that it doesnt need to be some fancy meal to be on this list. It can be any place that is doing amazing work, making incredible bread, unbelievable pastries, just amazing scrambled eggs even. That deserves a spot. The question at the end of the day is it delicious. It doesnt matter if theres tablecloths or fine china or flowers. Is that what you think about when you lve that city, its a place you cant wait to go back to, and if thats a place you want to go back to, you put that on the list. It seems like sandwiches are having a moment. Its about time. Most people can make a sandwich, but i went to turkey and wolf because of you guys in new orleans and sunday morning did something. I looked at this cover. Im not kidding. I want to take a bite out of this sandwich. Is something happening with sandwiches . It has been two out of the last three years number one, yeah. Again, Everybody Loves a sandwich. This is a katu sandwich with maier and milk bread. Everything on there is perfect and you want to have one and then another and youre going to go back a week later and have another. We have a list and thats a good guide. I want to hear from you, professional eaters and writers, whats the best thing you ate this year . My favorite was the chocolate croissant and konbi, the number one restaurant. That i only make 36 a day. I think this is what makes our list so fun. Its not just about the food. It had amazing hand soap. And then its about the stew. Good for you.
