We heard a cry for adults to listen. Because i feel like young people were saying, yes, we are dealing with severe trauma in our community. We actually have an idea of the solution and can anybody just invite us to the table. Reporter so the two created rise. It opened in 2008 and since then, approximately 4,000 young people have come through the doors, receiving Services Like clinical counseling, college support, and cultural programming. The programs are platforms to build loving, healing relationships and Loving Healing community. I feel like i didnt have anyone to show me something to value until i came to rise. Reporter she came ten years ago as a teen. Now she works here. This is a welcoming space. Reporter its the sense of welcoming this 16yearold appreciates. I see others who look like me and go through the same struggles as me and fighting for the same rights and freedom. Reporter they feel privileged to serve the young people.
