Reporter later this morning, at the chp academy in west sacramento, fellow officers will hold a bell ringing ceremony to honor camilleri. Yesterday afternoon, hundreds turned out to pay their respects as a procession took officer camilleris body from the Alameda County Coroners Office to a funeral home in his hometown of tracy. Hundreds of Police Officers and firefighters lined interstate 580 saluting as the procession went by. Officer camilleri died on Christmas Eve when chp investigators say a driver who was drunk and stoned slammed into the back of his patrol car. Fellow officers families say his death hits too close to home. Never really think whenever you send them out to go to work that, you know, they may not come home. No reports of any injuries or damage. A foiled terror plot in San Francisco has the city rethinking how it interacts with the feds. A modesto man accused of planning a Christmas Day attack at pier 39, as kpix 5s melissa caen, the city is considering whether to rejoin the Terrorism Task force. Not only the fbi handled the situation appropriately but our department, our Police Department, they really stepped up. Reporter according to an fbi complaint on december 16th, Edward Jameson told an undercover agent he wanted to attack pier 39 on the name of isis and he sent the agent pictures of the pier. Fbi sources tell kpix 5 they did notify the San Francisco police about this threat. Kpix 5 security analyst and former fbi agent jeff harp says thats standard procedure. The fbi in all cases calls the command staff, in this case, sfpd, deputy chief, whoever it might, and they will brief them on the case. Reporter but the police had to wait for that phone call because San Francisco is no longer a part of the fbi joint Terrorism Task force. As of today, we have suspended our operations, um, or participation in the joint Terrorism Task force. Reporter soon after President Trumps inauguration this year, the sfpd stopped participating. But after last weeks reminder that pier 39 is a target, we asked acting mayor london breed if the city should rejoin the task force. The chief and i are having discussions about that and were gonna be having, um, a few important announcements, um, in the coming weeks. Reporter she says she is considering all options. But ultimately, you know, we will do everything we can to protect our city and, um, if it means looking at or reexpecting, um, the task force or reexamining, um, the task force or adding to that, we will look at that but no decisions have been made at this time. Reporter the fbi will continue to operate in San Francisco so why not find a way to know whats going on . The fbi will continue to conduct their investigations with or without sfpd. Had to make a uturn back to the airport. Officials say an unauthorized person was discovered on the Nippon Airways flight to tokyo. They returned to l. A. X. North 101 not bad. 14 minutes from woodside towards sfo. So if you have an early flight to catch and youre traveling south to north to northbound towards sfo traffic is nice in the area. Over to 280 at 87 in the south bay, through san jose, not too far from downtown san jose, you can see traffic on our live shot here is moving pretty swiftly in that area. Very light conditions through the south bay right now. In fact, lets get an overview of the area. Traffic look is good. No delays right now along 101 in the south bay. Everything looks good along guadalupe parkway, highway 87, everything is clear there. In fact, 101 out of morgan hill were not seeing any trouble spots or delays so traffic is very light there and a nice ride on 17 and 85 looks good. Over to the eastshore freeway, so far, so good. Westbound traffic at powell street heading towards the bay bridge right now, traffic is light from highway 4 to the macarthur maze. And no delays right now at the bay bridge. Very light conditions so a great time to be on the roads. Hopefully weather is just as nice. Heres emily. Its clearer on the roads. It isnt too bad. These numbers right here are how many miles you can see. So in Half Moon Bay about 2 miles of visibility. 10 is a good number but look at this in the north bay. We have some valley fog up there. Threetenths of amile visibility in petaluma. Half mile in santa rosa and napa so if you are in the areas heading into work this morning, just take your time. Be careful because your visibility isnt great. This High Pressure system is whats keeping things nice and clear for the most part during the day. Dry, as well. Traffic moving nicely towards 680 in the 580 680 connector in pleasanton. Not seeing any delays right now. To highway 4, so far, so good this morning. Actually were not seeing any trouble spots here. Highway 4 looks nice westbound as you work your way out of antioch. If you are heading into pittsburg in fact, all the way towards 680 even towards the eastshore freeway, traffic is very light. 12 minutes from loveridge to 680. So Clear Conditions in that area. We are not seeing any troubles along 680 right now. Traffic looks good as you work your way along the eastshore freeway. Over towards marin, over towards 80 to 101 looks good.
